“Payten was an exceptional dog sitter for our two pups during their week-long stay. Her house and yard were perfect for our dogs to play and relax in. Communication was timely, and she was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. Payten's friendly demeanor made us feel at ease leaving our pets in her care. Highly recommend!”

“Sydney was so amazing and accommodating with our dog Sally. She wrote us very thoughtful and thorough updates and sent lots of pictures. Sally came back relaxed and happy. Highly recommend!”

About: Growing up I’ve worked with dog’s and sometimes cat’s whether it’s with family, friends or even my neighbors! From a very young age others have relied on me to give their pet’s the love and attention they deserve. I’m currently working part-time, so I have more than enough time to give your pup attention. I’m available during the weekdays from 7am - 1pm and all day on weekends. I currently have a flexible schedule which gives me time to give your pet the attention they need. I can work most weekdays and I can also work around their routines to help them feel comfortable, and cared for.
“Molly and her sweet daughter were wonderful with our corgis while they stayed with them for a week. We were at first a bit hesitant to leave them with someone we did not know since it was our first time. However, our dogs immediately warmed up to them upon meeting for the first time prior to booking. Molly communicated well and provided us with updates or any concerns or questions she had. We received cute photos of them playing in the yard and going for a pup cup. Our dogs appeared happy and well cared for upon pick up. We'd happily have Molly care for them again.”

“Jennifer provided excellent service. Our dog was loved and cared for as part of their family. We will be using her again - we have already reserved another time. She also provides excellent communication and updates.”

“This is the second time we have used Emily for our little one. She did a great job. Molly comes home like nothing has happened. That is a good thing. She usually gets back and is sick or sore after being boarded with our local boarder-I think they leave her in a cage most of the time. We will only use Rover and their caregivers from now on. Emily has been great for Molly!”

“Ashlyn and her pets were fantastic with my sometimes-reactive dog. She listened to my cautious instructions and made sure my dog had a warm start-up to his week-long stay. Thank you!! Will be returning in the future :).”

“Courtney and daughter took great care of our puppy Leia. She was with her, in her house or on walks ,virtually the entire time were out of town. She responded quickly in a somewhat of an emergency situation for us. So happy we were able to connect with Courtney. Thanks again!!”

About: With five years of pet-sitting experience and 18 years caring for my own dog, I offer dependable, respectful in-home care. As a law student with a flexible schedule, I’m able to give pets consistent companionship, gentle handling, and a safe routine while you’re away. I’m free most weekends, and my weekday schedule is somewhat flexible. I am in class Mondays from 1PM-3PM, Tuesdays from 1PM-5PM, Wednesdays from 10AM-3PM, Thursdays from 1PM-5PM, and Fridays from 10AM-12PM. I just moved to the area, but I’ve been pet sitting for years. My own dog recently passed, so I really appreciate any chance to spend time with pups. They’re the best study partners, and I’m always happy to give them company and love. I follow your pet’s routine exactly and keep your home secure while you’re away. Clear communication, safety-first habits, and gentle handling are my priorities. Your pets stay comfortable, your home stays respected.
About: Hello! My name is Brooke and I have a precious English Springer Spaniel and had a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog. I am a big dog lover and take my dog everywhere she can go with me! We love to hike, go biking, chase squirrels and the next door neighbors dog! I love spending time with animals, period, whether it’s playing with them or just taking them on a much needed walk! I also have house sat/pet sat for various families over the years and am extremely flexible with whatever families need. I have house sat/puppy sat from just a couple nights to several months at a time. I offer services of walking, in-home visits, over-night stays and quite frankly am flexible with any other situations that may come up! Thanks for reading and I look forward to meeting you and your fur baby! I currently work full time and even though I love puppies, would prefer to watch dogs that have a well established routine and can be ok for sometime alone before I can come and walk them and play with them. This is part of my personal routine with my own puppy. At this time I do not have a fenced in yard at my own home, so talking my dog for a long walk on the trails near my house is a must! For families where I am watching not only their animal but their home, I like to work within their animals normal routine so as not to add any more stress to the owners or the animal.
“Sandie Dee my chocolate Labrador and I gives Ashley T. 5 ?????. This was my first experience allowing my pup stay outside of my Vets. Ashley was able to get me in last minute and me changing my time. I receive pictures of Sandie Dee and a update on how she’s doing. When I picked her up, she looked very happy and healthy. Will definitely recommend to anyone and use again.”

“Michelle was so incredible with our pup! This was our first time using Rover and she put me at ease almost immediately when I dropped him off. She kept me updated throughout the day and was extremely responsive through texts. We are so grateful!”

“Brooklyn was AMAZING! My dog has high separation anxiety and she catered to him in every way that she could to keep him comfortable. He was so content and relaxed with her plus had a great buddy to play hard with! She sent me lots of pics and kept me updated. I will absolutely use her again!”

About: Walking, bathing, and hanging out with dogs is some of my favorite downtime activities. Growing up with a dog I learned all the necessary skills to watch over a dog. I even volunteered at the humane society in both the dog and cat area for four years! I am currently a teacher so I work from 7-4pm Monday through Friday, but if you need someone to walk your dog at night or house sit for the weekend or even a week night, I am your person! My husband also works from home so if you’re boarding during the week day he is also here to help out if needed. Whatever you need me to do is what I will follow. I will come to your place as my animals do not take well to strangers. But rest assured I will take great care of your animal, in whatever capacity you need. At our home we two cats that do well with other dogs but tend to ignore them, and one dog who LOVES other dogs so no worries there.
“Janie was an amazing dog sitter! Professional and very caring… Attentive to details… Our two puppies were in good hands. We were able to rest easy on our trip. Janie updated us with cute photos of the puppies as they enjoyed their visit with her and her own puppy hostess Maui. When we picked them up it was clear our puppies have been well cared for and loved. We would highly recommend Janie to every pet owner!”

“Our dog had a great time playing with Megan’s dogs and staying with her. When we came to pick him up, he didn’t even want to leave! She was sensitive to the fact that he is older and took good care of him. We are thankful to find her and her husband!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Nixa
We have an elder dog with back problems. We have been feeling stuck because he doesn't like being left alone and stops eating if he is stressed. Ashley was willing to work with us and was helpful and kind dealing with his issues. She took him for short walks which he loved and sat with him on the floor to make him comfortable. We were encouraged that this could give us an opportunity to do some traveling. We have already set up for another short trip in a couple of weeks. Thanks Ashley

I could not be happier with my boarding experience with Ashleigh and Colby. I have only had my Doxie for a couple months and I've had challenges with him. I was worried he might have an issue with their adorable little dog, but things went so well right off the bat. They have a wonderful little country-ish place with a nice fenced in area that dogs can get out and roam a bit. I had a really great feeling with both of them... a great combination of being welcoming and strong with my dog, complete attention to him. I felt very good about them wanting to know details, and asking the right questions and also listening to me. Ashleigh messaged me several times with updates and pics and her communication and attention to details was really great. I plan on trying to use them again in a couple weeks and could not recommend them more. You can feel great about using them to watch and love on your dog. SIX stars... not five.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MO ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
