About: I’ve been around pets my whole life, especially dogs. Some as small as my mom‘s Chihuahua, to dogs as big as my sister‘s great mastiffs. Ive cared for all types of pets and would love to meet many more! Recently I’ve started working part time but I’m open to work around that! I try to be as flexible as I can. If you’d like me to drop in to feed, walk, or watch your pet, I’ll be available. Whatever type of routine your pets have I’m down to follow it. Lots of pets I’ve worked with have specific eating routines, as well as walking routines, I’m here to learn what works best for you.
“Sophia was the best dog sitter ever! I loved receiving pictures of Rocket out on walks, her giving him love and just taking care of him like it was us at home! Rocket fell in love with her also! I can’t wait to use her again!! She really did a wonderful job!”

“Savannah did a great job with my two large dogs. I was out of the state for a week and didn’t have to worry about the girls at all. I will be using her again in the near future and would recommend her to anybody for housesitting and pet sitting.”

About: I’ve been around all different kinds of animals my whole life! I’ve been taking care of my close friends and families animals for as long as I can remember! This includes experience in house sitting and caring for the animals needs! Animals can’t speak to us verbally so it is important to pay attention to their needs and wants. I take animals seriously and treat all of them how I do mine! I am a server at a restaurant and have a very flexible schedule! My shifts are typically at night and last about 5 hours! I typically have my days open! My personal pets are very spoiled! I have two dogs and I take them on walks, to the park, on the boat, etc. I snuggle them any minute I can! They are my main priority- I treat their needs as I do my own. This also transfers over to my clients pets! Like I’ve previously stated, I treat all animals as I do my own!
“Kathleen (Kara) to us, was absolutely fabulous. Rosie adored her and is now.looming for her. She sent photos daily. Checked in often with updates. Left my home cleaner than I left it to her. She is reliable, respectful and more important great with my Rosie! Definitely would recommend her.k”

I Can give love and grooming so that you can give your dog to me and enjoy all Daytona has to offer. If you are a local I can give daily exercise and dog walking service. I can take you and your pet to disappearing island for just a fun day out. If you are arriving by boat I can provide transportation pick up service at the harbor. I live just quarter mile away. I am recently retired and available most everyday and night. I like to walk and live steps away from the Sweet Heart trail that goes the length of Daytona Beach downtown area. About: I recently moved to Florida and would love to provide care to the community in my area! I have 6 years of dog care experience, 3 of which have been in a professional capacity at a boarding and rescue facility. I have plenty of experience conducting one on one as well as group play so if you have more than one pet in the home it's no problem! I am the most passionate about providing care for dogs with varing levels of reactivity, who may not have the opportunity to thrive in traditional daycare/boarding environments. But I love ALL temperaments and would love to provide safe and fun care for your best friend(s)! I also have a lot of experience caring for elderly and disabled animals ❤️ I do work a typical job, but I am lucky to have quite a bit of flexibility. So I am able to work with you to provide the care you need! I follow instructions to the T and try to keep their routine as close to normal as possible. I have behavioral and body language training that plays a key part in my care. I am big on enrichment! Which includes; playtime, walks (with lots of sniffing), puzzles for pups that are interested, licky mats and frozen kong. Thing to keep their brain engaged! As long as it is approved by pet parents, I use diet appropriate treats along with positive reinforcement to build trust and can easily adapt and continue with any training plans you may have.
About: My family has had dogs and cats my entire life. Not only have I cared for our puppies, but I have also lovingly cared for our senior animals. One of the most poignant experiences of my life was taking care of my senior dog, Fredo, a pug who suffered from a rare disease. Left undiagnosed for many months, his outcome was grim, but even as a young kid I doted on him, carrying him around, and assisting him to go outside and go potty. My family now has an 11 year old Doberman, Clemenza, a 4 year old Lhasa Poo, Luca, and an 11 year old cat, Santino. As you can tell, my parents love the Godfather! We moved here from Nebraska in June, 2022. Prior to moving here, I took care of my neighbor’s two black labs, a pit bull, and their various reptiles. Since moving to Florida, I have had part time job at a local ice cream store, which I will continue working at while taking care of your pets. I am happy to do what is best for your pet in your own home. I love walking dogs, letting them out, and can also check on cats. I am confident when it comes to feeding animals, providing medications, and anything else your fur babies need.
“Avery was a life saver. He took such great care of our new puppy. I was out of state and he kept me up to date on Kodi. Plenty of pics to reassure me after leaving him for the first time. Consider yourself lucky to book Avery.”

About: I have struggled personally while trying to find reliable care for my kitties on rover once we moved to FL - I am happy to be able to help out other cat families in the area! I have three cats, from a 14 year old senior to a 7 month old kitten. I am familiar and comfortable administering medications (our 7 month old has twice daily oral medication) and treatments (our 14 year old girl has feline asthma). I know how to be patient with cats and respect their space, while still ensuring they are getting the care and attention they need while their pet parents are away. I can house sit or do drop ins and am happy to come by prior to booking to ensure it's a good fit for everyone! I can't wait to meet your cat! I am working at the moment but average about 20 days off a month or more that I would love to get to know you and your pets by caring for them! I have a very flexible schedule and am very reliable. I have a fenced in yard and will be able to give your pet all the attention and care they need! I am able to crate, walk, wash, feed, administer medications etc however you need.

About: I'm great from senior dog care to puppies. I raised puppies from day 1 and adopted dogs and kept them all through their senior years. I am well informed on how to keep up with all aged pups. I've raised and kept dogs all my life. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I enjoy caring for animals and have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide reliable attention and care. I care for dogs in clients homes by following their routine closely, including feeding, walks, playtime, companionship and making sure you pets feel comfortable and safe while there owner is away. Also treating your pet like family.
“Valery is one of the best sitters I have used on this platform. She took care of our two dogs when we were gone and did a great job taking care of one of our dogs who needs extra attention and keeping us updated.”

About: Hi! I'm a lifelong animal lover with over 35 years of pet ownership and hands-on animal care experience. Caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. Over the years, I've cared for dogs, cats, and many other animals. In addition to my own pets, I've regularly helped care for my sister's farm, where I've gained experience and learned that each pet has different personalities and needs. This has given me confidence working with pets and animals of all sizes, personalities, and care needs. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, feeding, medication reminders, companionship, or just plenty of love and attention while you're away, I'm committed to providing safe, reliable, and compassionate care. I understand that every animal has a unique personality and routine, and I'll make sure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry (or feathered or scaly!) family member. My goal is to give you peace of mind by providing dependable care and regular updates so you always know how your pet is doing. I look forward to meeting you and your pets and becoming someone you can count on whenever you need a helping hand! I keep my own work schedule so I’m available when you need me. Whether you need a slumber buddy or a walking buddy, I’ve got you covered My own fur babies have earned the right to have free range of my home when they graduated from their crates. I’m happy to follow your routine with your fur-baby no matter what stage they are in

Paige was amazing! She responded promptly to my initial inquiry and continued to be extremely helpful and patient throughout the booking process, the actual dog sitting, and even afterward. She is professional and passionate. She clearly LOVES animals and is very sweet and attentive to them. Our lab puppies had a blast with her. She sent us pics and videos so we’d be updated. I have nothing negative to say about Paige. She gave us total peace of mind for our day away from our pups, and we are very grateful.

FAQs for House Sitting - New Smyrna Beach
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in New Smyrna Beach on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 749 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across New Smyrna Beach. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Smyrna Beach walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Smyrna Beach maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Smyrna Beach choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
