Lisa was great with Lucy and Annie! I could tell they had a good time because they were tired when they got home! I really liked the dog friendly atmosphere of Lisa's home. She also had two fenced in areas that they can go outside and play! I will definitely use Lisa again!

My experience boarding our pup Willy with Megan and her family was wonderful. Several weeks before our boarding and before I even confirmed the booking, Megan invited me to visit and make sure our pup would be comfortable or a good fit. Only once it seemed like it was going to be good for all of us did move forward. Willy stayed for a week. Megan was not only attentive to his usual routine but kept us updated with photos and notes about how he was feeling (he gets anxiety over storms). I really made us feel good about our decision to try Rover for the first time and Megan in particular. We'd definitely do it again. Thank you, Megan!

Asher M. was a wonderful pet sitter for my two boys! This was the first time that I have ever had anyone, besides family members, watch my two cats. My boys are almost 12, and one is diabetic, but I had no concerns during my trip. Asher stayed in contact with me, gave me his personal cell phone number, and even sent me pictures of my two cats during my trip. I appreciated all of this greatly, and cannot recommend his care enough! Thank you for making my first experience with not only Rover, but also with boarding my two cats anywhere, a smooth and stress free experience. I will book again with Asher M. if I find myself needing another boarding for my two.

Cheryl is impossibly lovely. Our dog is a nervous boarder - he often struggles the first few days. But he didn't spend a single night in his crate while in Cheryl's care. She was super flexible with the start and end time of our stay and clearly gave our pupper a second home while we were away. We couldn't ask for a better experience.

Rae and her family really worked hard to make my anxious Bichon, Hope feel at ease.. Hope came from neglect and abuse the first 5 months of her life before we adopted her. She gets anxious with anyone above her trying to pet her, but after a day, her anxieties were minimized and she felt more at home! I appreciate all your love and support with Hope!

About: I’ve been helping friends and family take care of their animals while they are away since I was a kid. I love babysitting furry friends. I work certain days of the week at another job really early in the mourning and home by 1130 am. I’m a very quiet shy person but I love animals. I work certain days early in the mourning and I’m home by 11:30 a.m. I need a 4 day in advance booking. I love animals so I wanted a job to where I can work them. I spoil every animal I come across. Everyone will be fed. I have treats, toys, leashes, a special dog monitor for if I do have an overnight on a day I have to work. I do have an extra crate if you feel your dog needs crated. If your animal requires special treatment such as medication I will need something written out for that such as name of medication time taken etc. I care for every animal as if they were my own. Their health and safety is my main priority at all times.

About: While volunteering for dog rescue for 6+ years, I’ve had the opportunity to foster over 160 dogs of all ages, administer just about every type of medication, and vaccinate 1000’s of dogs traveling to foster and adopter homes I do not work for anyone else. My time will be fully dedicated to your pet along with my own and with as much love I have 3 friendly dogs at home. I have the ability to keep dogs separately in open or closed rooms. Crates or not crated. Once comfortable, they can spend time on the couch and playtime with other dogs with your approval.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of different breeds, sizes, and energy levels since I was young. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, basic training reinforcement, and giving medications if needed. I always make sure each dog feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I make sure I never overbook myself so every dog gets the attention they deserve. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, so I prioritize it in my weekly routine and stay consistent with walks, feedings, and playtime. I always follow each pet’s routine closely, whether I’m in my client’s home or mine. I stick to feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions. I keep their space clean, safe, and calm, and I treat every dog like they’re my own. I’m also happy to send updates so you always know your pet is doing well.

I've meet Shawnee before to see here and where I'm going to leave my dog. The meeting was here suggestion and it was great. We talked about Toy's need and habits. During Toy stay Shawnee sent us a dayle update and photo/video and we saw that we left him in good hands. When we met Toy, he jumped on us happily and run back and forth to Shawnee too.We were glad to see that he likes here so much. Shawnee was attentive and everything was done with a smile and kindness. THANKS 🙏🏼

Dana was great! I needed a sitter at the last second and she was able to watch Colbie with no problem. She sent lots of pictures of her during her stay, and treated her just like one of her own dogs. I could tell that Colbie received lots of love and attention and was very happy. She got fresh chicken mixed with her food for dinner every night, and was even allowed to bring her favorite toy home with her. I will definitely be booking with Dana again in the future!

FAQs for Boarding - New Cumberland

Frequently asked questions about Rover

There are 703 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in New Cumberland. About 90% of New Cumberland sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in WV ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
