“Brianna is AMAZING!!! She stayed at our place with our pitty for a week, we got lots of updates and pictures. We will definitely have Brianna as our dog sitter from now on 🥳”

“Nicole stayed with our Great Dane for a day while we were away. Our Dane doesn't typically warm up to people fast, but snuggled up with Nicole right away. She sent me pictures throughout the day and I could tell our dog really felt comfortable with Nicole! :)”
“Lauren did a phenomenal job with our fur babies. From the time she replied to our request she took the time to listen and understand our challenges. Then she came over and took the time to familiarize herself with both of our babies ensuring there wouldn’t be any issues. Great job and great person.”

“Thank you so much for taking great care of my babies! They appreciate the time and of course the walks which made us miss our family less! Pippa and Otis says Brad can come back anytime!”

About: I have owned and taken care of both young and old dogs and cats most of my life. I seem to understand animals even better than humans in most cases, with animals being one of the best sources of stress relief for me. While not certified, I also trained the last few dogs that I owned, teaching both spoken and hand gesture commands. I will only be working part- time during sitting, working with online coaching clients and possibly making deliveries on Doordash during the day. In the evenings (6- 9p.m.) Monday through Friday, I do martial arts training at a dojo in Concord. I usually prefer sitting for clients with a fenced in yard for both letting the dog outside for bathroom breaks and also for play time such as throwing a ball, as well as having indoor play time in between working on my online coaching and delivery duties.
About: Pet's are more than just pets, they are family and deserve to be treated as such. I enjoy getting to know each animal's personality. I have experience with medium, large, and extra large dogs. I have free afternooons and weekends to walk dogs, dog sit, petsit, feed, or just let them out for a bathroom break and play time. When I care for client's pets I always leave the house in better condition than I arrived. I follow instructions to the degree in which they are written and love on your pet like you would.
About: I'm a caring and attentive pet lover with experience raising my own dogs. I'm comfortable with all ages and energy levels, and I treat every pet like my own with love, patience, and reliability. I can help with basic training, medication, or just lots of play and cuddles! I work from home, so your pet will get plenty of attention throughout the day! I’m flexible with walks, playtime, feeding schedules, and can adjust to your pet’s routine to help them feel comfortable and cared for. Whether in my home or yours, I prioritize a safe, clean, and calm environment. I follow your pet’s routine closely, give them plenty of love and supervision, and always keep an eye on their comfort and well-being. You’ll get regular updates, so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.
“We really enjoyed having you watch the boys! We appreciated how communicative you were the entire time, and we loved receiving the pictures and updates as well.”

“Meghean was absolutely wonderful! She took great care of Tiger and Sky, kept me updated with messages and photos, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that she genuinely cared for them and treated them like her own. I came home to two happy, well-cared-for pets. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Meghean!”

“Johnathan cared for Abby over Christmas and was absolutely amazing—we couldn’t be more thankful for him. He was incredibly responsive, extremely supportive of her needs, and his professional background working with animals really showed. Our dog normally struggles when we leave due to separation anxiety; however, it was clear she felt comfortable with him, as her routine—including her bathroom schedule—remained completely the same. He truly went above and beyond for us, and we felt completely at ease knowing Abby was in such capable hands.”

“Christina stayed at our home and took care of our fur-babies while we moved our daughter to college. She kept us updated daily on how everyone was doing and everyone was happy and well taken care of when we got back! Already booked for our next time away and look forward to having her stay in the future 😊”

“Lydia took wonderful care of my two dogs while staying with them over the weekend. From the moment we met her, it was clear that she genuinely loves animals. She followed their schedules and routines perfectly, spent plenty of time playing with them, and made sure they felt comfortable, happy, and loved while I was away. Knowing my dogs were in such caring and capable hands gave me complete peace of mind. When I returned home, they were relaxed, well cared for, and clearly enjoyed their time with her. I am so grateful for the pictures and videos she sent and the attention and affection she gave them. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lydia to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate dog sitter.”

“These two are the best. We have had them stay at our house twice now, keeping track of our cat, and two dogs, and will always come back to them for any future needs. Our dogs need to be kept separate, and they handled it perfectly and took away any worries we had. Thanks again guys!”
“When I returned from my long weekend away, my cat babies were content and seemed relaxed. Emilie was attentive to their needs and left the house as good as when she arrived! I appreciated all the photos and daily communications. I highly recommend Emilie.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mount Ulla walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mount Ulla maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mount Ulla choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
