These two are the best. We have had them stay at our house twice now, keeping track of our cat, and two dogs, and will always come back to them for any future needs. Our dogs need to be kept separate, and they handled it perfectly and took away any worries we had. Thanks again guys!

About: I have owned and taken care of both young and old dogs and cats most of my life. I seem to understand animals even better than humans in most cases, with animals being one of the best sources of stress relief for me. While not certified, I also trained the last few dogs that I owned, teaching both spoken and hand gesture commands. I will only be working part- time during sitting, working with online coaching clients and possibly making deliveries on Doordash during the day. In the evenings (6- 9p.m.) Monday through Friday, I do martial arts training at a dojo in Concord. I usually prefer sitting for clients with a fenced in yard for both letting the dog outside for bathroom breaks and also for play time such as throwing a ball, as well as having indoor play time in between working on my online coaching and delivery duties.

We booked Crystal to care for our Goldendoodle, Teddy. She was prompt, friendly, playfully engaged and knowledgeable. We and Teddy took to her right away. It was apparent that she was experienced with, and loves caring for dogs, and we were confident in her ability to care for our Teddy. We were not disappointed and will definitely work with her again!

I can tell from the photos that our sometimes nervous pup was very comfortable with her. We’ll definitely be using Emily’s services again!

About: Hi! I’m Ronni. I share my home with five cats and two dogs, and I also foster rescue dogs, so caring for animals with different personalities, medical needs, and anxiety levels is something I’m very comfortable with. What sets me apart is my attention to detail and calm, patient approach. I have experience with: • Senior pets who need slower walks, extra comfort, or medication • Anxious or traumatized dogs who need gentle handling and trust-building • Multi-pet households with different routines and needs • Cats who may be shy, selective, or need space and patience • Maintaining consistent routines to reduce stress while you’re away I understand how important routine and trust are, especially for pets who are sensitive or have been through stressful experiences. I move at their pace and focus on helping them feel safe and comfortable. I provide detailed updates after every visit so you know exactly how your pet is doing. I’m reliable, observant, and will quickly notice if anything seems off. I’m available most evenings and weekends for drop-in visits and walks, and I’m happy to accommodate multiple visits per day to match your pet’s normal routine. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the same way I care for my own. I work from home so can be flexible with timing. The best times for me would be over lunch breaks or after work hours! However, if something came up I could make time for it! I am currently not taking on any pet boarding requests. I have a fenced yard and a quick 5 min walk to the park which connects to a greenway, which we frequent! My dog and I love to walk downtown as well and meet all kinds of friends. My dog is super spoiled and even gets homemade food. He gets along great with my three cats who are on a very strict routine or they lose their patience with me! I understand how important routine and hence change can be for cats especially. They all have their different personalities, and it is so important to put that first. Ask me any questions about my four- I love talking about them!

About: Experienced dog owner, foster and sitter with non certified training skills. My partner and I have five dogs ranging from 100lbs to 15lbs and ages 2 to 10 years old. I have a deep love for all animals but especially dogs. I enjoy hiking and walks so I am the perfect fill in for your active pups. I am currently not working a regular 9 to 5 so I have vast availability for all types of pet sitting and care. I am happy to work with your schedule! In my own home and for those I care for I am a firm believer in structure and consistency. My animals know when feeding time is and have a regular routine. I value upholding that for my client's routines as well as I know it is not only important to the client but the wellbeing of the dog. This is even more pertinent when under stress with their family being away.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs my whole life and adopted my own pup during Covid—the best decision I ever made! I love spending time with animals and regularly care for family and friends’ pets. I’m responsible, reliable, and will make sure your dog feels safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m available 7 days a week, morning to night, and can accommodate any schedule. Whether it’s early walks, midday check-ins, or evening care, I’m always flexible and reliable to meet your pet’s needs. I successfully trained my own dog and am very comfortable caring for pets at all stages, including those who use crates, are still potty training, or need extra patience and consistency. I understand that every animal has unique needs and will provide kind, attentive care tailored to their routine.

Ellie was a great dog sitter for our two girls! They immediately loved her when we did our initial meet and greet, so i knew they were in good hands. We even had an emergency vet appt right before she came and one of our pups had medicine she needed to give her twice a day. Without hesitation she took control and kept our babe healthy. She was communicative & incredibly sweet. Thank you again Ellie!

FAQs for House Sitting - Landis

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Landis on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,467 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Landis. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Landis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Landis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Landis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Landis. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
