“Quinn did a great job with my dog. I have a large Akita and she doesn’t like very many people. Quinn has a very gentle way of gaining the dogs trust and it showed in the many (much appreciated) pictures and videos that I would get daily. I will definitely use Quinn as my dog sitter again.”

“Zoe is wonderful with my two big dogs. They are excited to see her when she comes to take care of them (which says a lot). She is so tidy and cleans up before she leaves that you won’t even know that she has been there.”

“Annie stayed at our house and watched our dogs for 6 nights. They took to her immediately when we had the meet and greet. It was our first time using Rover.com, but there nothing to worry about. :) We got probably some of the best pictures we have of our dogs on a daily basis, which was great because we missed them so much! They really liked Annie and our house was just the way we left it when we got home. We will definitely be hiring Annie again!”

“Traci did a fantastic job house sitting for us and had great communication. She provided daily photos and was very accommodating for our dog. Would definitely recommend!”

“Amber was a fabulous dog/house sitter. She took great care of our little chihuahua while we were gone for the weekend. She was responsive and sent me some photos and updates so I knew he was being well cared for! I would definitely book her again for future house sitting needs!”

“Maisie was amazing! She took great care of our dog and kitty while we were away for a week. She sent pictures which warmed our hearts and made sure our dog got adequate exercise. I would highly recommend her to care for your fur babes!”

“Shaelyn did an amazing job assisting with Chop! I’m glad that she was available to help out. She always communicated with me, and she was at my home when she said she would be.”

“Georgina is a fantastic dog/house sitter. She took amazing care of our little chihuahua. He warmed up quickly to Georgina and she sent me lots of photos and updates, which I appreciated! I could tell he was well taken care of while we were gone! She also kept the house clean and went above and beyond and washed the sheets at the end of her stay. I will definitely book Georgina again in the future!!”

“Gabriella kept all my animals and house safe and well cared for while I was gone. It was a last minute booking and I was not as well prepared as I usually am. My notes and instructions were messy and she still managed to keep my house and animals perfectly cared for and happy. I’m sure the dogs miss her it was obvious they were well loved and given a lot of attention while I was away!”

“Delaney was so wonderful with our dogs! We had never left them for a full week, so I was nervous about this. She was very communicative and gave plenty of updates. I could tell our dogs were comfortable and happy through the pictures and videos she would send. She stayed in our apartment and also left it spotless. I would highly recommend booking Delaney next time you need a dog sitter!!!”

“Corbin was awesome! Incredibly communicative and on top of things. He was so good about asking questions and checking in, and making sure Maisie was well taken care of. Maisie had a great time with him.”

“Rachel was a fantastic house and pet sitter for our crew of five fur kiddos (plus house plants). We left our senior dog, senior cat, and three younger cats in her care at our house for a week, and she kept everyone on their (borderline annoying) schedules and routines, including daily dog walks and medication administration. Rachel was highly responsive, openly communicative, and active in sharing updates and daily photos of our pets. I'm also fairly sure that our house was cleaner when we returned than when we left...! We will continue to request Rachel as our house sitter for as long as she will let us :)”

About: Animals make life better! I’ve been pet sitting since I was about 8-years-old, walking neighborhood dogs and checking in on cats. During the pandemic, I volunteered at an animal shelter in Indiana. I ran miles with active dogs, provided enrichment through puzzle feeders, and even created videos about adoptable pets that ended up on the local news (and helped them get adopted!). Most recently, I’ve worked with an animal shelter in Missoula, helping them build up their social media and outreach. I have experience with kittens, puppies, rabbits, chickens, senior pets and dogs that are dog-aggressive or anti-social. I strive to provide the best pet care because they’re our family members and we want them in the best care while we’re away. I’m a strong communicator and always send text updates and photos! I’m a graduate student a the University of Montana. My days are flexible. I can feed/check-in during the morning, evening, or both depending on how much you need me. The animals safety is always top priority. I make sure to give your pet attention if they want it, give them treats, give them fresh water and for cats—scooping their box each visit. I always make sure I have eyes on your pet before I leave or close the door. I want to make sure they feel comfortable and safe while their family is away!
“Rosie did a great job with my reactive/anxious pup. I loved that she sent photos while I was away, and I felt confident leaving Winnie in her care. Would recommend!”

“April was fantastic! Our cat was so happy to have her stay at our house. Her communication was great and I loved the photo updates. I would hire her again in a heartbeat. It was clear she spent som real time with our kitty and we are so grateful!”

“Cam did a great job taking care of my cat and watching my house while I was gone for about a week. He left the house clean and everything was in good shape when I came home. His daily text updates with photos of my cat was really appreciated and made me rest easy so I could better enjoy my vacation. I strongly recommend Cam and plan to rebook with him next time.”

About: I have been surrounded by pets my entire life, I have even helped rescue a few dogs! I have experience in dog and house sitting. I am working part time currently so I have plenty of time to take care of pets. I am trying to get 10k steps everyday so being able to walk dogs will make it 100x more enjoyable. I make sure dogs are comfortable with my presence and are able to relax as if they were with their owners still. I make sure to follow instructions that are provided for the best experience possible.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Missoula
Haley was a gem! She sent lots of pictures and took my two very energetic dogs out plenty. They seemed to have lots of fun and got plenty of snuggles. She gave great updates and I barely thought about their wellbeing when I was gone, knowing it was well tended to. She left my place just as I left it, and is a very kind person. I could not recommend enough!
Chloe and Chevron are practically besties at this point! Chloe spoiled Chevy over the holiday, taking her for a pup cup at Big Dipper, adventures on local trails, and managing her disregulation during fireworks. Chloe is incredibly respectful of our space and I highly recommend!

Brandy was wonderful! She was very responsive, asked good questions, and provided cute pictures of our dog, Cooper. Brandy stayed at our house for five nights and left it very clean. I knew when I met her that she would take great care of our dog. It gave me confidence, which helped me enjoy our time away even more. I will definitely book with Brandy again!

Alaina is the best sitter we've ever had! The dogs absolutely loved her, she was communicative, left the house clean, and clearly took care of our pups with a lot of love. Our pups didn't seem anxious at all after returning from a week away from them, which is a testament to how well they were cared for. Thanks so much, Alaina!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Missoula walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Missoula maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Missoula choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Missoula. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
