“We have two shih tzus that just turned a year old. They are brother and sister and are inseparable. We were fortunate to find Victoria on Rover as our pups have been with with just us pretty much 24/7 for 9 months. They have never been boarded or around other dogs and spend most their time indoors even pottying on pads. Victoria is single and had no other pets on her schedule. We took a 10- day trip recently and we couldn't have had a better person looking after our two little pups. Victoria is very pleasant and easy going. Her place is perfect with a small patio and lots of daylight. She has a nice vinyled floor area where the dogs were able to run around, eat, rest and play. She was very kind to let them sleep with her and also hang out on her couch. We received daily pictures of our pups and felt they looked good. Victoria responds to messages quickly which we appreciated. When we picked our puppies up, they were excited to see us, looked great and we could see that they had bonded really well with Victoria. We highly recommend Victoria and we will be using her whenever we have pet sitting needs.”

“I was really concerned as Bella had never been away from me or my husband, but she took to Rick and had a good time. He sent pictures of her daily, which helped me a lot and he took her on daily walks. I definitely will be using him again.”

“Yasmim was so great! She communicated me with me so well and quickly and sent me multiple updates on how my baby was doing. She even sent her home with a little goodie bag 💓 Would definitely recommend!”

“Melissa was amazing! Luka had such a great time and even made a new friend. 🤍 He was definitely in the best care, and we would absolutely choose Melissa again. She had excellent communication throughout the stay and kept us updated with pictures and messages about our puppy. Melissa even taught Luka a few new tricks! ☺️”

“Yolanda was great!! I really appreciated her taking my boy in last minute. The sitter I had originally booked didn’t answer my calls or messages the morning of drop off. So I reached out to Yolanda and I was able to drop off my pup within the hour. She was really a life saver.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life and love caring for them like they’re my babies. I also help watch my family and friends' pets when they’re out of town, so I’m used to giving animals lots of love and attention. You can trust that your pet will be safe, happy, and treated like family with me. I’m attending the university of the rio grande valley. However, I only attend on certain days and right now it’s summer so i’m free. I will make time. I will do my best to clean any mess the pets make and I am reliable to give them food and water and take on walks daily.
“Mayalin has been the best dog sitter we have ever had. She took such great care of our Roger. I received pictures and updates every single day. We were worried we had to leave him for that many days, but she made us feel so comfortable knowing that he was well taken care of. 100% recommend her. Thank you Mayalin R :)”

“Caleb & Kim were GREAT! Their set up was perfect for our dogs who aren’t used to being on a leash. Their backyard is huge and gave ample room for play and exercise for our Australian shepherd and our little Shih Tsu fit right in as well. They got along so well with Levi and Roy, Caleb & Kim’s dogs! We were updated daily with pictures. We were able to enjoy our time away, knowing our dogs were in such good hands. Thank you so much Caleb & Kim!”

“Evan was such a great doggy sitter to my Chewy the 5 nights he stayed with him! He went above and beyond in caring for him and making sure he got plenty of exercise during his stay. We loved that he had a huge yard for the doggies to play fetch in. He also sent daily pics and updates of him which made me feel at ease knowing he was in good hands 🙌🏽 10/10 would def book again!”

“Katherine was the absolute sweetest to our little Aria. We were very nervous leaving Aria with a sitter since this was the first time using one and I couldn't have been more happy with our results. Katherine sent daily pictures/videos and updates at least twice daily. We are so thankful and will definitely recommend and use again. Thank you again Katherine...Aria and her family ?”

About: I grew up with dogs and currently have 2 of my own! Life is busy and I want to help with your dog’s needs. I understand how stressful days can be, especially if you have a tight schedule, and I want to help assist with your fur babies. I personally love going on trips and understand the necessity of finding a good pet sitter. I can help relieve that stress on your next trip. I grew up with 2 dogs and 4 siblings. I’m the second oldest and basically the second mom of my family. I can multitask and work under pressure and leave a great result. I work with love and care. My husband got relocated to this area because of work. Thankfully, I’m able to have a pretty open schedule. I spend a lot of time with my dogs at home and I want to use my free time to help care for your dogs as well. I don’t really travel often, so my availability is pretty vast. I have 2 available crates of my own and I can bring those along with me if needed. I have 2 vests available and 2 leashes that I can use of my own.
“Jesus and his wife are a perfect duo! They saved me last minute and my dog almost didn't want to leave because he loved the home so much. They kept me up to date and informed about his well being! Their dog is super friendly and her children adored Levi! I would not hesitate to call them again if I needed to. ”
About: I'm a reliable and caring pet sitter with a genuine love for animals. Whether you're away for a few hours or several days, I'll make sure your pets are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I provide feeding, walks, playtime, and lots of affection( bathing time could also be requested) just like they’re part of my own family. You can relax knowing your fur babies are in good hands!" As I am in the process of pursuing a career as a phlebotomist and enrolling in nursing classes, my schedule can be busy at times. For this reason, I don’t typically accept house sitting, but may make exceptions for short stays under a week if they are nearby and align with my availability. I do offer drop-in visits when my schedule allows and am fully accepting boarding, where I can provide consistent and loving care. I tailor my pet care based on each pet’s routine and needs, whether in my home or the client’s. In the client’s home, I maintain their pet’s usual feeding, walking, and play schedule to provide comfort and consistency. In my home, pets have a safe, clean, and welcoming environment with plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I always prioritize their well-being, communicate regularly with owners, and ensure pets feel secure and loved while in my care.
“I am so happy to have found Rubi through Rover to care for Poppy. I had peace of mind during my travels as she communicated with me via text and video about his care and well being. I would definitely reach out again for this service.”

“Lisette exceeded our expectations. She sent us a lot of pictures and our fur babies had a blast. Our regular sitter was unavailable this weekend and we were a bit worried leaving them with someone new. Thank you very much, Lisette for taking such good care our pups. We also appreciated the postcard. We highly recommend her services!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
