About: I have been my family and friends go-to pet sitter since I was 12 years old. I have always been an avid animal lover and will provide the most loving care to your pet no matter its age and size. I have two yorkies of my own, but have experience caring for larger dogs and cats as well! I am currently not working but am a full time student. My schedule is extremely flexible and can work weekdays and weekends. As long as your pet is happy then I am happy! I value constant communication when I leave my babies in someone else’s care, so I prioritize keeping you updated on what your babies need while under my care. I also prioritize pet safety and keeping your pets safe and happy is extremely important to me.

About: Hi! I’m a 28-year-old nurse and longtime animal lover. I started using Rover as a fun way to spend my days off doing something I genuinely enjoy while earning a little extra income on the side. I have pets of my own, so I completely understand how hard it can be to trust someone else with your fur babies. I’m definitely the type of person who treats my pets like family, and I’ll always give yours the same love, attention, and care I’d want someone to give my own. I also have previous experience working at a dog grooming and boarding facility, where I cared for dogs of all different breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities. Between that experience, being a pet owner myself, and working as a nurse, I’m very comfortable being responsible, attentive, and following specific care instructions. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, medication, or just someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’d love to help make sure they’re happy, safe, and well cared for. 🐾 I currently work 3 12 hour shifts a week, so if I accept a request I will make sure I am off full time to watch your fur babies! I have a fenced yard in the back which is typically where I introduce my pups to yours. I never like to make the animals that I am watching feel stressed or overwhelmed so I will do the best I can to make sure everyone is happy and comfortable. I love to provide treats (if mom and dad approve) and send lots of photos of your fur babies!

About: I have taken care of and owned dogs since I was 10. During the ages of 11-14 I fostered several dogs and worked with a rescue. I also know how to work with puppies and kittens since I rescued my 1 year old cat when he was 3 weeks old. I also regularly dog sit a three dog household for a family memeber for the past four years as well as a three cat household. I also have experience with ferrets and hamsters. I am currently a newly graduated student who has the summers off! I am free to help as long as I have a days notice! I will adjust to any schedule you have for your furbaby. I am also comfortable administering meds if shown the schedule and routine you have.

My services include:
 • Dog walking and exercise
 • Pet sitting and companionship
 • Drop-in visits
 • Feeding and fresh water
 • Medication administration (oral and topical)
• Baths and light grooming

I can’t wait to meet you and your pet and become someone you can count on whenever you need dependable, loving care! About: Nothing sets me apart from other sitters, seeing how we all put in effort to learn what it means to be a sitter for pets. However, describing myself to you is important, because by doing so we can start to build trust. The only few things I can describe myself as is someone who is responsible with whatever instructions are given to me, someone who is also understanding, and someone who prioritizes being gentle with pets to help them be comfortable around strangers. If having a conversation helps you build trust with me, I would be happy to do so. I'm currently looking to do something on the side in order to earn a bit of cash, as well as something that accommodates to my religious responsibilities, consisting mainly of Tuesday mornings, nights, and Saturday mornings. We regularly stick to our feeding schedule three times a day, whilst also refilling or replacing their water so that they are drinking the cleanest water possible. As for client's pets, we simply follow this same mindset, or we follow any instructions left behind for specific care of the pet.

Gabby was the best. We moved with our doggies to a different state/town and had to travel again without them immediately after arriving to our new home. The dogs were happy and safe and adjusted well to their new environment with her help. My apartment was clean and well cared for and she even made sure to unplug any cables as a safety precaution when she left. Totally recommend Gabby 💯 and I'm looking forward to having her care for my pup again!

About: Fellow dog momma and animal lover! I love caring for animals and commit myself to taking care of them. I am comfortable around all dogs and am willing to adapt and learn how to best care for your animal. When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your dogs I will dedicate my time to loving them. I would love to be able to take them to the dog park where they can also interact with other animals while you're away! My lil girl is a spoiled 8 year old Sheepadoodle. I am currently home full time and am available for drop ins or house sittings when needed! I am also flexible and can accept last minute bookings. When in your home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I currently stay home so have plenty of time to care and play with your pets. I’m ready to discuss a availability with you! I have a fenced yard and don’t mind taking pets for rides. My dog is very friendly with both people and other pets. If needed I have a crate, dog bowls and other pet essentials.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I grew up on a farm caring for many different types of animals, which taught me responsibility, patience, and how to understand each animal’s unique personality and needs. Over the years, I’ve also trained several of my own dogs, giving me experience with basic obedience, routines, and handling pets with different energy levels and temperaments. In addition, I’ve pet sat for friends and family many times, caring for pets as if they were my own by providing plenty of love, attention, exercise, and dependable care. I’m passionate about creating a safe, comfortable, and fun environment for every pet I meet. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine because I have a flexible schedule during the weekdays and full availability on weekends. I currently work full time during the week, but I’m able to leave on breaks and also accommodate early morning visits, walks, feedings, and check-ins. My weekends are completely open, which allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pets in my care. I enjoy staying active and spending time with animals, so making sure pets are happy, comfortable, and well cared for easily fits into my lifestyle. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I always focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of exercise and playtime, and receive lots of attention and affection. I also pay close attention to their behavior and needs to ensure they are happy and stress-free while their owners are away. I have experience handling animals with different personalities and energy levels, so I’m patient and adaptable with each pet. Whether it’s walks, potty breaks, play sessions, administering basic routines, or simply providing companionship, I care for every pet as if they were my own. I also respect my client’s home by keeping everything clean, organized, and following all instructions carefully.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mission

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 136 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mission. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mission walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mission maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mission choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
