“Erin has been great. Both of my dogs like her and my cat who is normally skittish has stayed out when Erin has been over. I’ve had to reach out short notice a couple of times, and she has been able to accommodate. I’m very pleased and I would highly recommend her!”

“Stephanie was so helpful and kind with our two dogs! This was a first time using Rover and Stephanie exceeded all needs and eased our worry. With a senior dog who needs extra care and a younger dog who has much more energy, she was able to accommodate both of our boys to keep them happy and safe!”

“We had a last minute request and Sarah was able to accommodate us. Our dogs were well cared for and happy when we returned home. We’ll definitely use her again in the future!”

“Jennifer is amazing! Not only did she take great care of our cat, she was very understanding and flexible when our travel plans changed and we weren’t able to make it home for an extra five days. She kept checking on him daily for us and was very communicative and responsive. Our sassy kitty loved her and it was such a relief to know that he was in great hands while we were dealing with cancelled flights. We will absolutely book cat sitting services with Jennifer again!”

“Emily did a drop-in visit with our two big dogs to let them out and give them some attention. She did everything we needed her to do and the dogs got plenty of love. We will definitely use her again soon.”

“This is the second time we have used Valerie. She communicates with us and we never have a concern that our kitties are played with and cared for by Valerie. We will definitely use her services again in the future.”

About: Hi everyone. I live with my sister who has two golden retrievers, and I also have two cats. I have always loved animals and am looking for occasional jobs. I have walked a variety of dog breeds, and have housesat for several friends and neighbors. Starting in January I will be starting my school psychology practicum which will be from 7 am-3 pm, but am free in the evenings and most weekends. I am available after 3 pm on weekdays. I am also free on weekends or over holidays whenever school is out. I can be flexible, but based around our school districts calendar. I have experience with big and little dogs. I enjoy walking them, playing in the yard or at the park, as well as spending one on one time with them. I also am used to playing with more than one cat, so I am comfortable with this as well.
“Kylee was a WONDERFUL Rover sitter! She was on time based on our agreement every day, she treated my pup like her own, and sent the best pictures! I will definitely book her again! (Once Coronavirus allows me to get back to business as usual).”
“Sandy was so dependable! We asked her to let our dogs out midday for about a month and she always communicated well and helped us out so much! Our stubborn little pups were fond of her right away :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 8. I’ve taken care of a wide range of dog breeds, from pit bulls to winner dogs. I’ve taken care of my own, family members, and neighbors pets as well. I would take them on long walks, give them many pets, bathe them, and I know how to feed them their meds. I’m also great at cooking dog food! I’m currently working part time and going to college. My early mornings and evenings are free. My weekends are also free all day, so if your dog needed more attention on those days I’ll have more than enough time! I do NOT offer care in my home! my housing doesn’t allow pets and rent is too expensive to move. I’ll happily accommodate any other need you have though.
“Debbie provided drop in visits - our first for this pup rescued from a breeding situation. Debbie did a meet and greet prior to the drop ins. While checking in as scheduled she sent photos and provided updates and communicated as needed. Definitely would recommend Debbie.”

About: I have dog sat and cared for many other dogs and animals before. I will always make sure the animals are well treated for and the house is taken care of. I am very friendly and strive to make sure every experience is friendly. I have two dogs of my own. I am excited to be able to take care of your dogs and make sure they get what they need while you are away from home. Something that sets me apart from other sitters and walkers is that I am very client forward and will work to meet your needs. I am currently working part time, so I will have plenty of time to play with your pups, I am available for walks and check ins Monday/wednesday/ thursday and house sitting Monday- Sunday! I follow all directions owners leave for me to care for their dog and home.I also help run errands while owners are away, and in warmer months I take care of indoor and outdoor plants
“Michael is wonderful! Our cat has to be pilled manually every day and is very attention hungry. Michael spent quality time with her and pilled her daily while we were out of town. He also took lots of pictures.”

About: Hi there! Animals have always been the happiest part of my life, and caring for pets genuinely brings me joy! I have experience with larger breeds, senior dogs, and pets who need extra patience, attention, or comfort. Whether your dog loves long walks and playtime or prefers naps and cuddles, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and cared for while you’re away. Have a senior pup who would prefer a stroll? I own an extra large pet stroller that can hold pups up to 120lbs so your pup can go the distance they may not go on their own. I’m very communicative and will always send updates and photos because I know how important peace of mind is when someone else is caring for your pet. I’d love to meet you and your furry family member! I work from home and have a flexible schedule, I also love taking multiple walks per day myself! My soul dog recently passed away so I have extra free time. I’ve relied on Rover sitters heavily in the past so I understand the need for peace of mind when it comes to my home, I will treat your home with the utmost respect while taking care of your pet.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mission
Amber is a very reliable, friendly and caring pet sitter! She took a fantastic care of our cat Elvis while we were away, followed all the instructions and our home was just in the same state as we left it. We appreciated daily updates and pictures and we will definitely book again when we go away! We highly recommend Amber!

Jeffrey is the absolute BEST! I feel like he really went above and beyond while caring for my two kitties. What I appreciated most was that he took the time to leave detailed reports on their behavior along with everything he did during each visit, so I knew they were in good hands and well taken care of. I hope I can book him again next time we travel!

Lauren was the absolute best! Meeting w her previously to scheduling visits, I could tell she was a real animal lover. My old girl Chloe was recently diagnosed with diabetes and I had only just started medication when I needed to schedule a sitter due to work. I was naturally a nervous wreck but Lauren was extremely competent & communicative. She sent me a bunch of updates and photos every time she stopped by and went above and beyond to make me feel better about leaving Chloe to someone else. I will absolutely be using her services again!

We have a big ol' Irish Weirdhound who is extremely picky about who she lets touch her and play with her and such. Emily was immediately her friend, which we have only rarely seen in the 6 years we've had our pup. She is easy to communicate with and on time for every drop in visit. We will definitely be asking Emily to keep an eye on our weirdo again!

Evey has been absolutely terrific with my little rescue. He is anxious about many things, but Evey spends quality time with him at her daily drop-in and is helping him to come out of his shell. I can tell he is enjoying her visits by how he interacts with me when I arrive back home.

As a pet owner I was looking for a reliable cat sitter to visit my home while I was away. Lori followed all my instructions and even stayed in my home until her 30-minute visit time was over for each drop in visit! I feel comfortable using Rover to find my pet sitter when needed and allowing their pet sitters to come into my home. Lori came and did a meet and greet, asked me questions the same week I was looking for a cat sitter. She was very responsive and observed my home. She offers to bring in any packages left on the porch and my mail if needed while she cared for my cat. Lori sent me pictures of my cat the day she visited. I would use Lori again.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
