“I am so glad that I found Stacy! She took excellent care of our Franklin, and 11 year old terrier. He loved looking out of her windows, sunning on the deck, and hanging with her pup. Stacy was great with communication and super flexible. Franklin will definitely be back next summer when we visit the area. I felt so comfortable and knew that Franklin was in good hands while on my trip. Thanks Stacy!”

“Becky looked after our 1.5-year-old Lab, Marshall, over the holiday while we were out of town, and we can’t say enough great things about the care she provided. She sent frequent updates, photos, and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing Marshall was in such great hands during the holidays. We would absolutely recommend Becky to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter for their pup!”

“Heather and Spencer were fantastic with my furbaby! I never thought my dog would get so attached to a male! Scooter followed Heather's son around everywhere! Heather kept me constantly updated with pics, videos, and conversation our whole vacation. They both truly treat your pet like their own. We scheduled another stay with them.”

“Cynthia was wonderful with our dog Finn, and this was our first time using a sitter. Finn is very shy around new people, so we weren't sure how he'd do, but he settled in at her place and seemed comfortable the whole time. Her communication was excellent from start to finish, with updates that put us at ease while we were away. Everything went smoothly and we had no issues at all. We'd happily book Cynthia again and recommend her to anyone whose dog needs a little extra patience.”

“Krista was awesome. Met with Krista & her dogs before Bella stay for the weekend. That was great to get to know her & Krista to meet Bella. Communication was great & Bella was a happy girl”

“Julie and her husband are great dog sitters! Julie responded quickly to me and sent lots of pictures while my dog was with them. They have a beautiful fenced in back yard. I would recommend them to my friends anytime!!”

“Donna is wonderful, and our Sadie loved her and her whole family. I got to see pics everyday, had lots of communication and knew Sadie couldn’t be getting more love and attention. It’s so wonderful to know I have a loving home for our girl when we need to leave her I really can’t say enough about Donna. I would recommend to anyone who has a hard time leaving their furry baby! There couldn’t be a better place!”

“Jennessa was so sweet and accommodating, she took fantastic care of my pup and provided daily updates about her. Highly recommend Jennessa and would definitely work with her again! Cinnamon also had a ton of fun while she was there so your pup/pet is gonna have a mini vacation while you are away!”

About: I have a very friendly mini labradoodle who LOVES visitors and one cat who is also very comfortable with dogs visiting my home (he’s also very happy to stay independently in other areas of the home if needed). I have three young children who live with me 50% of the time, who are also very high energy and love running around with dogs. Since I work from home full time, I’m able to walk dogs multiple times during the day and don’t have to crate during the day. Large three floor home, small yard, very close to multiple open outdoor spaces for dogs to run. I work from home full-time, so have lots of flexibility to care for pets! No need to crate daily, and can offer multiple daily walks. I don’t have a fenced yard, but I have a lead for those who want to stay outside for a bit and several leashes for short bathroom breaks. I also live very close to several outdoor spaces for dogs (ie parks).
“I can’t recommend Mai enough! They are so caring and wonderful with our dog. I feel completely at ease leaving my sweet pup in their care, which is a first for me! I’m incredibly grateful for Mai!”

About: I grew up with labs! I love taking care and spending time with them! Since moving to Lancaster a year ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to take care of a friend’s dog in my apartment. That experience made me realize that I have the capability and resources to take care of other people’s pets! I don’t see my dog Tilly as often, so I would love to put my energy into something beneficial for the both of us! I work full-time on a Tuesday through Saturday schedule. I am free most Sundays and Mondays all day. I am available to provide attention to your dog whenever it is needed. I have a smaller apartment, but it is the perfect size for one dog. I have a very neat apartment, so there is very little that your dog can get into. My apartment does not have a yard, but there in a small park down the road (very close).
“Sarah was outstanding in every way! Kodi was in excellent hands and treated like family with her. We are so thankful to have met her. She’s an outstanding sitter and person to trust your fur baby with. We will absolutely reach out to her again. Wish I could give her 10 stars for how fantastic she was!”

“Nanci is a very responsible dog sitter:) Our dog got great care and lots of walks during her stay. Nanci’s husband Tom was also very good with our dog and she seemed to enjoy both of them very much!”

“Absolutely amazing! We had such a great experience and felt completely comfortable leaving our dogs in her care. She was so sweet, reliable, communicative, and treated our pups like they were her own. 🥹🐾 It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were safe, happy, and well taken care of while we were away. We would 100% book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can truly trust with their fur babies!”

“My dog, Arthur, stayed with Gwendoline for 3 nights. I'm so thankful to have found Gwendoline. Her yard is amazing, and even though our family was away, Arthur got to be a part of Gwendoline's family for a few days! Arthur loves other dogs, and he also got to play with dog friends there! My fingers are crossed that this is always an option for my dog when we're traveling or need care for him. I've used Rover many times from daycare to 10 day trips, and this was hands down the best experience I've had to date. I don't want to leave too good a review for fear availability will be impacted, but seriously 100 stars!”

“Our little Beowulf had a blast with Alexis and her children. They treated him like part of the family and even gave him a little stuffed lamb ❤️ Will definitely contact to book with again in the future!”

“Alexis is great! She communicates, sends pictures, is very flexible and I could just tell my girl Carmen felt like she was right at home. We will definitely ask her to take care of Carmen again.”

Jenn was sensitive to our dog's anxiety, especially since this was his first time away from home without us. He took to her right away and she would send pictures and updates to us. She accommodated our schedule when it changed and we were able to come sooner than planned to retrieve him. We are glad to recommend her to others and will use her again as future needs arise.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
