“Valerie was excellent! She took great of our dog, sent regular updates, and managed his eye condition well. An added bonus is her sweet dog Ollie who was great company for our dog and kept him at ease.”

“Reached out to Lelainy on short notice to watch our buddy Boone for fall break. She was very responsive the entire stay and provided updates/pictures frequently. Her dogs and Boone got along great and I think he really enjoyed his stay. Would absolutely recommend her to watch your dog without hesitation.”

“Laura was so great. She took great care of my dog. She took her on walks, gave me updates on how she was doing, and even took her to get an ice cream cone. I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with Laura and will forsure use her again soon!”

“Erin and her family are phenomenal! They sent pics and updates everyday. My dog, Tilly, really took to them and if she feels at ease, I feel at ease. I would 100% use them again to care for my sweet pup.”

“Brent is a good person and a great dog sitter. Maple and Mozzie's (Brent's dog) first meeting went great. They played very well together. The day we dropped off Maple at Brent's home, he and his wife were very friendly and inviting with us and our dog Maple. They explained everything involved with Maple's stay and activities in their home. He kept us updated with pictures and texts. I would definitely recommend Brent and Rover to other pet owners.”

“Ana was wonderful! Very loving and caring. My furbaby became very attached to her husband as well. She also liked playing with Mia, Ana’s fur baby, which was awesome. She is usually indifferent to other animals. I would highly, highly recommend Ana. It was such a comfort knowing Ruby was being loved while we were away ❤️”

“Morgan is such a sweet person, she’s quick with her response, sends pictures for updates & I can tell my little one had an amazing time. I’ll definitely be using her again🤗”

“Once again Kelsey was amazing! She takes the best care of our girl! She took her to the pet store and bought her a new stuffed animal and a treat. Kelsey is very responsive and sends updates.”

“Winnie was absolutely wonderful with Stella during the three nights we were out of town! She took such good care of her and kept us updated with pictures, which gave us great peace of mind. Her own dogs were very sweet! And then Stella decided to add a little excitement to Winnie’s stay by going through a brief “I think I’ll drink ALL the water and then puke it back up” phase. 😂 Winnie handled it like a champ, kept an eye on her, and helped Stella get through her little stomach drama. We couldn’t have asked for someone more caring, attentive, and patient. Stella was clearly in good hands, and we’re definitely looking forward to using Winnie again and her 3 pups. Hopefully, next time, Stella will skip the special-effects portion of her visit! 😂🐾❤️”

About: I have been doing drop-in pet sitting since I was 10 years old. I also worked at a Collie breeding facility for two years. I now own my own dog and have trained her and cared for her for 7 years. I have the ability to teach agility as well as basic obedience (sit, lay down, heel, roll over, etc). I am extremely active and love going on walks or runs with pets, but am happy to sit and offer belly rubs too! I am free to take care of your pet wherever and whenever you like, within reason. Unfortunately I cannot have pets at my house. Your dog's happiness and health is of the utmost importance. I am different from other sitters in that I possess extensive dog experience, patience, and an extreme love for animals. I am currently available most days to spend time with your pet. I was also a receptionist and am a vet technician at a local vet clinic and can use my knowledge in the event of an emergency. I fit it in around work and having my own dog. I typically spend a moderate amount of time with your pet, with the ability to conduct check ins as needed. I used to be a part time vet tech so I am very knowledgeable about many different clinical signs of pain or distress as well as any maladies your dog could have.
“Our pup appeared to be very content under Kirsten’s care where she had a 24 hour stay. Kirsten was a great communicator and provided pictures and texts that aided in easing the worry of leaving our sweet girl with a total stranger! Thanks for everything.”

“This was a last minute reservation and Lauren stepped up to the challenge. Her dog (Cletus) and ours were great together. Lauren took great care of our Jasper by providing him with walks, cuddles and some fun toys - sorry Cletus. We have already scheduled our next stay as we would not hesitate using Lauren again. Thanks Lauren.”

“10/10!! I can’t say enough great things about Martha! She is a very attentive, loving, and experienced sitter. She cared for my dog, Journey, as if she were she own. I loved that she’s also a dog mom, has a fenced backyard, and sends LOTS of updates and pictures. Can’t wait to book with her again in the very near future!!!!”

“It was such a great experience with Amber during the holidays! This was our first leaving our puppy and I'm glad it was a positive experience. Amber was very accommodating, and responsive and continued to give us updates as we requested. She made sure that all of my puppy needs were met and maintained the same schedule. Thank you Amber for taking care of Simba! 🐾”

“John was an amazing sitter who kept us updated multiple times a day with pictures and updates, even when we couldn’t be as responsive. He offered Teddy healthy treats on the regular and treated him like his own. Five stars! We will definitely be reaching out to him again for future sitting needs.”

About: Hi! I’m a 19 year old college student at The University of Kentucky who absolutely loves dogs and would be so happy to help take care of yours! I have two dogs of my own that are my best friends and I treat them as family. I’ve helped friends and family take care of their dogs my whole life! I already love walking and having a buddy to bring with me would be amazing! I currently live in an apartment but there’s plenty of grass to walk around on and i’m very open to going to dog parks, a trail, or anywhere they would want to go! For anyone interested in boarding, your dog is welcome to go on any furniture and cuddle with me in my bed if they’re allowed! I will treat your dogs as if they were my own and i’m excited to hear from you! I am a college student and do have classes but i’m totally available any day and time besides 1pm-4pm Tuesdays-Thursdays! I can walk your dog multiple times a day if needed around those times! For boarding I have a roommate who also loves dogs and we have opposite class schedules so one of us will always be home! I’m only gone for 2 hours during the day Tuesday-Thursday! I’m also happy to bring your dog anywhere with me if that’s what they’re used to! I’m able to follow any instructions based on your dog’s needs and am happy to help! I’m very trustworthy and will treat your dog as if they’re my own. Since I live in an apartment i’m happy to take your dog on walks frequently if they’re staying overnight with me and will give them absolutely all my attention!
About: I really try to make pets feel at home. I’ve cared for anxious pups and cats, and seniors, before, so I’m extra tuned in to their comfort and what helps them settle. I pay attention to the little things — their pace, their quirks, what makes them relax — and adjust to whatever they need. I’m patient, gentle, and I do my best to make every pet feel safe and comfortable while they’re with me. Because I work from home and keep a flexible schedule, pet care fits easily into my day. I am a dog-mom myself and my little one, Louie, loves having friends over! I’m able to offer regular potty breaks, play sessions, and lots of companionship. I maintain your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible — meals, walks, training cues, and downtime — so their stay feels familiar and comfortable. In my home, pets enjoy a safe, calm, and comfortable environment with plenty of room to explore. I have a large fenced‑in yard, which gives dogs space to play, sniff, and stretch their legs while staying secure. I keep a steady routine with regular potty breaks, walks, playtime, and quiet rest. I follow each pet’s feeding schedule, training cues, and comfort needs so their stay feels familiar and stress‑free. Whether a dog loves active play or prefers gentle companionship, I adjust the pace to match their personality. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I maintain their normal routines exactly as you describe them. I respect your space, your rules, and your pet’s established habits. I make sure they get consistent attention, exercise, and reassurance while you’re away. My goal is always the same in any setting: help your pet feel safe, understood, and loved.

About: I grew up with dogs and raised them responsibly throughout my childhood. As a young adult, I adopted an older cat and had a loving five years together before my baby passed. I love animals of all kinds and would welcome taking care of your pets with gusto and compassion. I’m currently a full time college student with a part time job, but I can fit your needs into my schedule! I am available for early morning and afternoon dog walks, overnight weekday cat stays, and mid-day check-ins on your beloved animals. Message me if my times work for you. I live in a non smoking apartment that is very pet friendly, with plenty of room for a cat. When it comes to dog walking, I take the utmost safety precautions and would love to walk them within your own neighborhood, as my downtown neighborhood is not very amenable to dog walks.
Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Migrate
Laura is awesome! She was patient and thoughtful in making sure our two were comfortable and happy. We appreciated the daily updates, and upon pickup we could tell they had a good time. One of ours even greeted us, then went to sit on Laura’s feet to get more cuddles…that’s love!

This was the longest stay yet and went great. Emily had to deal with medications twice per day too, and I know how frustrating that can be. Punkie was in excellent hands and I received many updates, videos and photos. She loves playing with Emily’s dogs too which is an excellent bonus!

Ana was wonderful! Very loving and caring. My furbaby became very attached to her husband as well. She also liked playing with Mia, Ana’s fur baby, which was awesome. She is usually indifferent to other animals. I would highly, highly recommend Ana. It was such a comfort knowing Ruby was being loved while we were away ❤️

I highly recommend Maryn as a rover for your pet! She was extremely responsive, sent updates with pictures, and even was flexible for pickup and drop off. I would absolutely use her again as a rover in the future. If you want peace of mind that your pet is in good hands while you’re gone, Maryn is your choice!

I am so happy I left my dog Maple with Guadalupe! She is super sweet, sent photos and videos every day, and Maple looked relaxed and happy in all of them. She was even able to easily extend Maple’s stay when I had an emergency pop up. I will definitely book with her again! Thank you so much, Guadalupe! 💛

She was wonderful to communicate with and made the whole process easy. I think I had just as much separation anxiety as my two pets did, but they were happy, well cared for, and doing great when I got back. I’ll definitely be using her again, especially for longer trips!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Migrate home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Migrate.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Migrate sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
