Jenna is a true professional, my cat doesn't always let sitters pet them and sometimes will even hide. This is not the case with Jenna, the very first picture she sent was her sitting on the couch petting my cat. Seeing that truly shows that she cares and really put me at ease, deffently would recommend her for cat sitting.

About: My parents have a lot dogs and cats so I grow up with them. I start have my first dog at 15 years old and my first cat at 21 years old. I work full-time during the day, but I'm available for pet care before and after work. In the mornings, I can visit to feed your pets, refresh their water, clean litter boxes, and take dogs for a walk while the weather is cooler. I return after work, around 6:00 PM, for a second visit to feed your pets, clean the litter box if needed, and take dogs on another walk. Evening visits also provide a great opportunity for exercise, playtime, and companionship before the end of the day. I'll always do my best to follow your pet's regular schedule and provide consistent, reliable care while you're away. Hi! My name is Wei, and I've always loved spending time with animals. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs, so I take the time to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for while you're away. I offer drop-in visits, dog walking, and pet sitting. During each visit, I can provide fresh food and water, walks, playtime, potty breaks, companionship, and lots of love and attention. I'm also happy to follow your pet's normal routine and any special instructions, including administering basic medications if needed. I have experience caring for both dogs and cats of different ages and temperaments. Your pet's safety is always my top priority. I pay close attention during walks and mealtimes, especially for pets that tend to eat too quickly. If necessary, I'll split meals into smaller portions with a short break to help prevent choking or stomach discomfort. I also believe emotional well-being is important, so I always greet and leave pets calmly to help them feel secure and reduce separation anxiety. I work full-time, but I carefully schedule my bookings so every pet receives the attention and care they deserve. I communicate regularly with pet parents by sending updates and photos, so you'll always know how your furry family member is doing. I would love the opportunity to meet you and your pet. My goal is to provide reliable, compassionate care so you can have peace of mind while you're away.

About: I grew up around animals and have been caring for pets for as long as I can remember. My family and I have looked after dogs, cats, and rabbits for friends, neighbors, and relatives, giving them a safe, loving, and comfortable place to stay. We understand that every pet has a unique personality and routine, so we take the time to learn their needs and make them feel at home. My mom, brother, and I all share a genuine love for animals, and we treat every pet like a member of our own family. Whether it’s walks, playtime, brushing, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, we make sure every pet receives the attention, care, and affection they deserve while they’re with us. Pet care is a big part of our daily routine. I live with my mom and my 19-year-old brother in a two-bedroom apartment, and my mom is home most of the day, so your pet will always have company, love, and attention. I work during the day, but when I’m home I dedicate my time to walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, and making sure every pet feels happy and comfortable. As a family, we work together to provide constant care, so your pet is rarely ever alone. Our home is clean, safe, and pet-friendly. We even have a dedicated futon where pets can relax and feel at home. We grew up around animals and truly believe they deserve to be treated like family. We’ve cared for dogs, cats, and rabbits, and we always follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications if needed, and any special instructions. If caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home with the same respect and make sure their pet stays comfortable in their familiar environment.

About: I've been caring for pets professionally for over 10 years. I'm not just a caregiver; I'm a devoted pet parent myself. My own fur babies are like my children, and I treat every pet I care for with the same love, attention, and respect. I work full time but with a very flexible schedule. Changing his food and water daily with multiple photos and videos to keep me in the loop. Noelle did a fantastic job and definitely will be using her again!

Tara was amazing! She did a great job taking care of my cat Jax and I can tell by the photos he loved her visits. She fed him 2x a day and cleaned his litter, bowls and the surrounding areas. She even took in my mail/packages! Jax was well taken care of and I truly enjoyed receiving photos of him during Tara's drop-ins. I'm so happy I took the recommendation to use Rover and found someone so trustworthy and caring towards my boy!

We truly hit the pet-sitter jackpot. I hesitate to leave this review for fear that Tammy will become so beloved across Rover she will no longer have time for us! From the moment we met Tammy, it was clear our cats were possibly in better hands than our own (honestly, they seemed a little disappointed when we came back). Updates were consistent, thoughtful, and often included photos that looked like they belonged in a pet lifestyle magazine—somehow capturing both chaos and cuteness in equal measure. Our home was cared for, our girls were happy, and we’re fairly certain they learned better manners while we were gone which raises some questions about our own management style. What really stood out was the genuine care and attention—this wasn’t just “checking in,” it was full-on VIP treatment. Visits weren’t rushed, playtime wasn’t optional, and every detail was handled like it mattered (because it does). If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, communicative, and clearly loved by animals, stop looking—you’ve found them. Just be warned: your pets may start expecting this level of service from you afterward. I still haven't mastered Tammy's double-Churu-dispensing skills, and the judgment from our girls is palpable.

About: *DOGS MUST BE GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS AND CATS* (I have THREE CATS and A DOG!!) My times for daycare are 8 am - 6 pm ONLY! (Mon-Fri) if outside this range, I will discuss additional payment. I have had dogs since I was a child. I’ve always had a love and care for any animal no matter the breed or size. During college, I worked at a vet as a daycare kennel assistant where I gained knowledge on the care of dogs. I know how to walk dogs, bathe them, cut their nails, etc. I work from home so I’m able to look over your fur baby! My boyfriend helps me from time to time and will help me look after any animal I have. I do go to the gym every so often so your dog needs to be able to be by themselves at least 1 hour, either crate trained or is able to be out without scratching or destroying anything. I have a fenced yard and live in a dog friendly neighborhood. I have a border collie mix and 3 cats in my house who are used to being around other dogs and mostly keep to themselves! If needed, my cats are able to be separated from your fur baby but I prefer friendly dogs!

About: Hello fellow animal lovers. I am a Veterinary Technician with over 20 years of experience for caring for hundreds of dogs, cats, birds and any kind of animal you can think of. My husband Andres is also a vet tech with over 15 years of experience and he helps me take care of any of the pets I watch. I used to mainly watch dogs in my home but since Covid we had a baby and she is allergic to dogs so I can't board in my home anymore which makes me very sad. Hopefully my daughter will grow out of her allergies eventually because we really do miss having dogs in our home and she loves dogs too. So now I can only do drop in visits at your home for any type of pet. I am currently not working and am a stay at home Mom but my daughter is in school now so I can do drop ins during school hours and then after my husband comes home from work in the evenings. I have dedicated my life to caring for and helping all animals and I have loved every second of it. I have experience with every age, breed, species and medical problem. I have years of experience of caring for any illness, physical and behavioral problems and administering any medications or medical treatments necessary. I have had many dogs, cats and other small creatures of my own that i have loved and cared for over the years as well. I love taking dogs out to play and bringing them to the park or wherever they enjoy going to the most. I have a car and can travel to any part of Staten Island. Nothing makes me happier than spending time and playing with as many little fur babies as i can. Lin was amazing with Simba and Sydney! She took such great care of them, played with them, and treated them like her own. She even brought over a can of wet food for them to try, which was so thoughtful. I really appreciated all the updates and the love she gave them. She also brought a letter from her cat, Wednesday, and my cats loved it! I came home to two very happy cats. Thank you so much, Lin! I’ll definitely book with you again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mid Island. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
