Eva was fenomenal with our 2 cats, Chico and Bento, during our 4 days trip! She carefully took notes during our introduction meeting and during each visit she took the time to write such a detailed and thoughtful report with important details. She also sent us plenty of photos every day!

This was my first time using Rover and leaving my dogs, Mocha and Matcha, home alone, so I was very anxious. I hired McKenna in advance, and she even did a couple of visits while we were still home to get to know them. When the actual trip started, I felt so guilty I almost cut it short—but McKenna reassured me with such kindness. She followed every instruction, came twice a day, fed, walked, and played with them, sent photo updates, and even stayed extra time to comfort them. Mocha doesn’t usually trust strangers, but she warmed up to McKenna quickly. Matcha loved her too! McKenna made the whole experience smooth and worry-free. I’ve already asked if she’s available again in July! So grateful and blessed to have found someone who truly treats my pups like her own.

Laura provided excellent service and communication regarding our cats while we were gone for 9 days. My 2 senior cats need daily medication (oral pills and topical cream) and Laura was comfortable with this situation. When we booked our vacation, months ago, they didn't need any medication, so finding the right sitter leading up to our time away was stressful for me, but Laura was great and helped me feel more at ease while on our big family vacation. It turned out that one of my cats would hide with each visit, which I'm sure was annoying to manage, but Laura stuck with it. We can't thank her enough for caring for our aging cats!

About: I have a golden retriever and a cat at home, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your pets. My dog has anxiety, so I’m especially patient, gentle, and experienced with pets who need extra reassurance. Whether your pet is shy, playful, or somewhere in between, I’m attentive to their individual needs and routines. I’m here to provide calm, loving care that keeps them happy and you worry-free. I’m currently on my summer break, so I have a very open and flexible schedule for pet care! I’m available most days and can easily adjust to your pet’s routine. In September, I’ll be starting my Master’s classes three times a week, but I’ll still have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, or visits around my class schedule. For now, I’m fully available and excited to spend time with some furry friends! I care for pets in their own homes, where they feel most comfortable and secure. I follow your routines closely from feeding schedules and potty breaks to playtime, walks, or cuddle time. I’m very respectful of your space and always make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and calm in your absence.

About: I have been a dog lover for all my life and realize they require lots of love and attention each day. I will treat your dog as if he/she were my own so you never have to worry while you're away. If your dog is more energetic and prefers running instead of walks, then I will certainly do that. Or, if your dog needs to go at a slower pace, I can do that too. I have experience with puppies all the way up to senior dogs and can administer pills and/or oral supplements. My availability is very flexible and I will try to make time even if it is short notice. I am very responsible so you can definitely count on me to keep your furry friend happy and safe when you're unable to be there with them. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to send a message or give me a call. Thank you!

About: My name is Erica and I am an enthusiastic and dedicated caretaker for your pets and plants! I have been a babysitter since I was 14 years old, and have extended my services to petsitting in the last year. I have experience in taking care of small to medium sized dogs, young and old, for family and friends as needed in the past and want to extend my dog sitting care to my community. I am happy to housesit as well as walk, feed, and care for your pets, and most importantly, foster a safe and happy environment for them. I can't wait to meet your beloved companions and befriend them too. I am available for evening petsitting or walks after 5pm on weekdays, and all day on Saturday and Sunday, overnights on weekends only. I can accommodate for your schedule if needed. I have reliable transportation to your home and will be respectful of your living space and your pet's routine. About: As a pet parent to both cats and dogs since 2018, I’ve pretty much seen it all! Over the last eight years, I've had to handle my fair share of unexpected pet emergencies. From managing diarrhea to large open wounds and fractured paws to dealing with accidental toxic ingestions. Because of those experiences, I’m really quick on my feet, know how to stay calm under pressure, and can handle whatever a pet might throw at me. I'm very attentive to a pet's needs when they are healing or just need a little extra medical TLC. You can trust that I’ll keep your pets safe, calm, and well cared for. I currently work part-time, so I’m free for the majority of the week. On Thursdays and Fridays, I have limited availability, but I am free in the mornings up until 2:00 PM. My weekend availability can vary, though with enough notice, I should be available for most requests. Throughout the day, I feed all of my pets together in the morning, which has been a huge milestone for us. My dog is a recent integration to the family; for five months, everyone was separated, and we only recently moved to unsupervised time after a lot of monitored play. My cats, who weren't friendly to dogs before, have completely adjusted. Thankfully, my dog is naturally non-reactive and has a great personality, so with enough time and patience, he naturally learned not to chase or bother them at all. Because of that transition period, my cats still have their own designated room where they can hang out, completely unbothered by dogs or any other animals. Going through this process gave me firsthand experience with careful pet integration, pacing, and creating safe, stress-free boundaries for different animals.

Michael has been absolutely wonderful with our doggo! He has such a care and attention to her needs, and even helped out when she got into trouble and got into our pantry lol. We have a reactive dog, and he's been great with taking her for walks and managing her energy and needs safely. We can tell that she is very comfortable with him, and would recommend Micheal to anyone with a furry friend! :)

Elizabeth was so good with our little monster! She spent time to get him used to her since he's a bit feisty. In the end, he let her pet him and give the insulin with almost no issue. She's a really wonderful person and I highly recommend her as a sitter.

About: I have experience with taking care of my own fur baby for 7 years. Besides her I have also taken in family pets whilst they went to vacation, as well as drop ins and checking their pets for the duration of two weeks. I was capable of teaching the pets under my care tricks and was always on top of everything being responsible, and making sure the fur babies got the attention they needed. I am also comfortable looking after feline (cat) pets as I have taken care of them with my boyfriends family during drop ins, and also freshwater aquarium pets as I have hosted them in my home for my cousins taking care of up to 6 in a tank. I am in college so I only attend school three days out of the week leaving all day of monday and friday, adding on I have a late class wednesday so I am available early on Wednesdays! I am also free on the weekends. So, I am able to check in with pets during my free time, and make sure to care for the fur babies. I can do afternoons for monday, friday, and the weekend and day time for wednesday! In my home I have one pet, my girl dog pearl who receives all the love she can get and is treated as a family member :) In my home I have a fenced yard, I have treats to provide, toys, and more. I also have a play penn in which pets can have space and play freely if wished to be crated. I will make sure to always give attention to the pets just as if they were my own babies.

Tessa did an awesome job of keeping us informed while we were away during our trip and sending us lots if photos. Our pets seemed happy and loved on. House was in order when we returned and she went above and beyond doing somethings we didn't expect her to take care of such as taking out trash and scooping litter since it was a short trip.

Ellen did an amazing job caring for my two senior cats. She administered meds and one cat that never comes out of hiding for any other pet sitter warmed up to Ellen and quickly learned to trust her. I loved receiving all the updates and loads of pictures twice a day. She even stayed extra time to ensure the shy cat ate all her food. I highly recommend Ellen, she’s a god-send. Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Port Reading. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
