I can do afternoons for monday, friday, and the weekend and day time for wednesday! In my home I have one pet, my girl dog pearl who receives all the love she can get and is treated as a family member :) In my home I have a fenced yard, I have treats to provide, toys, and more. “Laura provided excellent service and communication regarding our cats while we were gone for 9 days. My 2 senior cats need daily medication (oral pills and topical cream) and Laura was comfortable with this situation. When we booked our vacation, months ago, they didn't need any medication, so finding the right sitter leading up to our time away was stressful for me, but Laura was great and helped me feel more at ease while on our big family vacation. It turned out that one of my cats would hide with each visit, which I'm sure was annoying to manage, but Laura stuck with it. We can't thank her enough for caring for our aging cats!”
“This was my first time using Rover and McKenna was absolutely wonderful. She took such great care of my kitties and sent pictures with every visit. She took extra time to cuddle with them which did my heart good. I would definitely hire her again, it was a great experience”

“Paige, I can’t thank you enough for scheduling on short notice. I feel like Reef misses his walks with you already. The service and care was amazing. I would recommend Paige to anyone looking at a sitter! Will be requesting you every time I’m away! Thanks again”
“Jessica is an excellent pet sitter, she was very lovely with our Bella 😸 ❤️ she took care of Bella very well 🤩 I will definitely call her again! She left us a nice handmade present!”

“Nicolas (Cole) was great to communicate with. He gave detailed feedback on how our dogs were doing while we were home. He took the initiative to find our cat and made sure he got attention too ! Coke’s puts his heart in his work with the pets. We will gladly request to have him return.”

About: I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs since I was little, so animals have always been a huge part of my life. I currently have a loving 7-year-old Pit Bull, and being a pet parent has taught me so much about patience, responsibility, and giving pets the love and attention they deserve. I absolutely love animals and genuinely enjoy spending time with them, whether that means going for walks, playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company. My family and friends have always trusted me to care for their pets when they’re out of town, busy, or just need an extra hand. I’ve cared for dogs and cats with different personalities and needs, and I treat every pet as if they were my own. I want every animal in my care to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and spoiled while their humans are away! My work schedule gives me the flexibility to incorporate pet sitting into my daily and weekly routine. I work throughout New Jersey, so I’m often able to adjust my schedule and make time to care for your pets when they need me. Whether it’s stopping by for a visit, feeding, playtime, or giving them some extra love and attention, I’m happy to work around your pet’s routine and needs. My goal is to provide reliable, consistent care while making sure your pets feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away! When caring for pets in their home, I focus on keeping their routine as familiar and comfortable as possible. For dog walks, I’ll make sure your pup gets a safe, enjoyable walk with plenty of time to sniff, explore, and get some energy out. For check-ins, I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, fresh water, playtime, bathroom breaks, and any other needs your pet may have. I’ll also give them plenty of attention and affection so they feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away.
“Alison was amazing! She communicated well, sent so many pictures and was super consistent. I have a pesky cat in the bunch that doesn’t like other people and she wasn’t afraid to do what needed to be done. I can’t adequately explain how great it is to know your animals are taken care of while you’re away. Great peace of mind.”

“Hannah was wonderful with my two cats. It was the first time I left them longer than a few days, and Hannah took wonderful care of them. They really liked her, even my shy anxious cat that doesn't like most people enjoyed her visits. She kept me well updated and I enjoyed the photos while I was away. Thank you Hannah for the excellent care and attention you provided. My girls loved you coming over to play with them!”

About: I've taken care and spent time with animals since I was young. I have one gorgeous husky of my own and have watched over my family/friends' dogs and cats many times. With years of hands on experience, I'm confident in caring for dogs and cats of all breeds, sizes, and personalities! No matter the task, I always have an attentive and loving approach to make your pet feel their best. I am currently a second-year Rutgers student who is home for the summer, which gives me more than enough time to care for my pup and your cute pets as well! At my home, I have a deck and patio that my husky loves to hang out on. At the moment, I do not offer overnight boardings, however I do offer drop in visits, walks, and sittings. I can come to your house and walk, feed, and play with your pups (and/or kitties)!
“Elizabeth was so good with our little monster! She spent time to get him used to her since he's a bit feisty. In the end, he let her pet him and give the insulin with almost no issue. She's a really wonderful person and I highly recommend her as a sitter.”

“Michael was great with our cats! They are not socialized well and so are a little shy and Michael was patient with them and took the time they needed to warm up. Michael was incredibly responsive and kind- highly recommend him!”

About: My name is Erica and I am an enthusiastic and dedicated caretaker for your pets and plants! I have been a babysitter since I was 14 years old, and have extended my services to petsitting in the last year. I have experience in taking care of small to medium sized dogs, young and old, for family and friends as needed in the past and want to extend my dog sitting care to my community. I am happy to housesit as well as walk, feed, and care for your pets, and most importantly, foster a safe and happy environment for them. I can't wait to meet your beloved companions and befriend them too. I am available for evening petsitting or walks after 5pm on weekdays, and all day on Saturday and Sunday, overnights on weekends only. I can accommodate for your schedule if needed. I have reliable transportation to your home and will be respectful of your living space and your pet's routine. I am happy to give your dog a walk, take them out for breaks, feed, and/or entertain them as needed.

About: I have been a dog lover for all my life and realize they require lots of love and attention each day. I will treat your dog as if he/she were my own so you never have to worry while you're away. If your dog is more energetic and prefers running instead of walks, then I will certainly do that. Or, if your dog needs to go at a slower pace, I can do that too. I have experience with puppies all the way up to senior dogs and can administer pills and/or oral supplements. My availability is very flexible and I will try to make time even if it is short notice. I am very responsible so you can definitely count on me to keep your furry friend happy and safe when you're unable to be there with them. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to send a message or give me a call. Thank you!

Ellen was wonderful caring for my ten-year-old cat Taffy through drop-in visits while I was away. Taffy is ordinarily fearful of strangers, but took a liking to Ellen immediately. Ellen is also a pleasure to work with and I look forward to using her again in my future times away from home.
I’ve had a great experience with Taylor as my pet sitter! She is reliable and always takes great care of my cats. She sends plenty of updates and pictures, which gives me peace of mind while I’m away. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.

Highly recommend Stephanie! She looked after my cat over the long weekend and was amazing. There were power cuts while I was gone, and she went completely out of her way to check in on him and keep him safe. Mattie was so happy and relaxed when I got back.

Thank you so much for taking such good care of my puppy during the drop-in visit! I really appreciated the updates and photos, and it gave me peace of mind knowing my puppy was in good hands. My puppy seemed happy, comfortable, and well cared for when I got back. I would definitely recommend you and look forward to booking with you again!”

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
