About: I’ve grown up with pets my entire life and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of all ages, from playful puppies and kittens to senior pets. I’ve also volunteered at an animal shelter, where I cared for a variety of dogs and cats with different personalities and needs. I’m patient, attentive, and love getting to know each pet and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for! I’m primarily available Thursday through Sunday, with a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to each pet. I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and companionship throughout the day, and I’m happy to work around your pet’s usual routine. When caring for pets in their home, I focus on keeping them comfortable and maintaining their normal routine. I follow each pet parent’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walks, medication, and any special care needs. I also make sure their environment stays safe and secure while giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and affection.
“Hazel was extremely attentive to me as I was using the app for the first time. She took great care of Ollie, followed every request I made to make him more comfortable while we were away and always kept me in the loop. She did an amazing job :)”

“Alison was amazing! She communicated well, sent so many pictures and was super consistent. I have a pesky cat in the bunch that doesn’t like other people and she wasn’t afraid to do what needed to be done. I can’t adequately explain how great it is to know your animals are taken care of while you’re away. Great peace of mind.”

“Deliris was a great help! She took her time with my kitties and gave them some very needed interaction. She is a great communicator and never left me wondering about what was going on. I would definitely book her again!”

“Priyanka was wonderful with Carlos and Chief! Her communication was great and she provided the best photos of them while I was away - even better than I get sometimes! I would highly recommend Priyanka for your cat-sitting needs.”

About: Hey Hey! I’m Kayla <3, a mommy-to-be with a huge heart for animals and a genuine love for caring for pets of all kinds! I’m an energetic, dependable, and loving pet caregiver with years of hands-on experience caring for both cats and dogs. I currently have two sweet cats of my own! a 5-year-old cat and a 1-year-old Russian Blue — and I previously raised a Yorkie for 12 years and a Pit Bull mix for 6 years. I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. From long walks and endless playtime to cuddle sessions, upset tummies, treat begging, and everything in between, I’ve experienced it all. My goal is to make sure your fur baby feels safe, loved, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Whether they need a walking buddy, a playmate, or simply someone to keep them company, I’m happy to help. I’m comfortable caring for pets of all breeds, sizes, and personalities, and I always treat every animal as if they were my own. I would absolutely love the opportunity to care for your fur baby! Caring for your pet will be top priority! I am currently a mom of a 4 year old, who has full availability during the day time to tend to your fur-babies and even after hours we both are pet lovers! I will make sure I ask and be considerate of whatever safely precautions are needed to make sure your fur babies are safe and comfortable
“She took amazing care of my cat Jack. Everything was perfect from start to finish. I felt completely comfortable knowing Jack was in good hands. I really appreciated the updates and the way she treated him with so much kindness.”

“Excellent service. Strider warmed up to her almost immediately and I can tell he was well taken care of. Zhiting was not afraid to ask questions and was very responsive. Thanks!”

“Michael was so amazing with my senior orange Ray Cat. What a wonderful job giving him his medicine 2 times and day, brushing, playing and treats. I always get worried because my boy can be a handle full at times, but Michael was such a amazing person for Ray Cat. Highly recommend and I feel so safe having him as Ray's sitter. Again thank you so much!”
“Kethely’s wonderful! Knowledgable and kind, so we felt great leaving our cats in her care. She came for drop in visits and the cats seemed to greatly enjoy her company. We enjoyed getting pictures and videos of them interacting. :)”

“Bianca is always a pleasure to work with, my Nipsey loves her. There were some occasions when I needed her last minute and she’s been available to us. That is much appreciated. Thank you so much Bianca for caring for Nipsey he loves you.”

“I honestly believe I have found the best sitter ever! ✨ Rachel was so detailed and passionate when it came to caring for my babies. I really appreciated the constant communication and updates. She was so helpful and thoughtful in everything that she did. Teddy and Khloe loved having you care for them and hope to see you on the next one 😇”

“Emily is amazing! She met my dog the day before his walk/feeding to help get acquainted with him and I showed her where all of his things are. Which I really appreciated. She texted me updates and confirmed details about the visit. She was so sweet and empathetic towards Mylo. I am thankful for her availability since my schedule is so busy. Overall 10/10. We are thankful to have her as our new dog walker :)”

“Love the notes that Steven leaves at the end of each visit to tell me about the progress of his interactions with my shyer cat and what he does with my more outgoing one! Makes each time I go on vacation a less stressful knowing my cats are in good hands and the notes and photos are always one of the highlights of my days away!”

About: What sets me apart is my ability to be both caring and dependable in moments that require real attentiveness—something I’ve developed through years of working in community programs, internships, and leadership roles. Whether I was leading a team project, supporting a friend, or organizing events through my cycling club, I’ve always been someone who shows up fully and handles responsibility with care. I bring that same energy to pet care—tuning into each animal’s needs, whether it’s keeping up with an energetic puppy or being patient with a senior pet. I’m calm, communicative, and take pride in making both pets and their owners feel secure and understood. As a recent grad preparing for law school and transitioning into the workforce, my schedule is relatively flexible—especially during the weekdays. Pet care has been a grounding and fulfilling part of my routine. It gives me the chance to stay active, present, and connected in a meaningful way while balancing studying and professional goals. I genuinely enjoy the rhythm of it, and I treat every booking with the same level of care and responsibility I bring to my academic and work commitments. Whether I’m in my home or yours, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I love making sure everyone—pets and people—feels comfortable, safe, and at ease. That’s something I’ve really practiced through leading Catching Wind, the cycling and wellness club I started in college. Creating a space where people felt welcomed, supported, and looked after—whether they were riding for the first time or just needed community—taught me a lot about patience, attentiveness, and how to care for different needs. I bring that same approach to pet care. I listen closely, follow instructions, respect your space, and aim to create an environment where your pet feels loved, relaxed, and understood.
“Alexis was wonderful with my dog and cat. She met them a week before. My dog instantly got along with her. Alexis has a very kind and caring aura to her that my pets picked up on and were comfortable with her right away. My husband and I will be reaching out to her for any future trips.”

Kethely was amazing. She has a very sweet demeanor and knows a lot about cats. My cats took to her very quickly. I got nervous that they might like her more than me. Haha. But seriously everything was smooth and she did bove and beyond. I will definitely hire her again.

Alison is truly a blessing. As a pet parent with two big dogs (120 lbs each ) I am really protective of them and want them to be around individuals who aren’t fearful of them. I’ve gotten nothing but great pics of cuddles and belly rubs; even my cats have come out for pets. Definitely recommend her to anyone who is looking for pet care (:

Cristina took wonderful care of my 4-month-old kitten for a week while my family and I were out of town. She communicated well, responded promptly, and sent us pictures every day. It was clear that she genuinely enjoyed spending time with my kitten and took great care of her. Cristina followed all of my instructions and went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of. Before we returned, she took out the kitty litter garbage and left the bathroom clean and tidy. I would highly recommend Cristina to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and responsible pet sitter!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elizabeth. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
