“Jennifer is a amazing animal carer she was very patient and loving with my cats and they can be a handful as they been heavily spoiled. She communicated everything I needed to know about my boys and made me feel at ease. I would not hesitate to book her again.”

“Emily is amazing! She met my dog the day before his walk/feeding to help get acquainted with him and I showed her where all of his things are. Which I really appreciated. She texted me updates and confirmed details about the visit. She was so sweet and empathetic towards Mylo. I am thankful for her availability since my schedule is so busy. Overall 10/10. We are thankful to have her as our new dog walker :)”

“Jillian was great taking care of our kitty Yoda. She kept us up to date with pictures each visit. She went the extra mile by keeping in touch with us while we were in Spain. We are so grateful.”

“Marlee watched our two cats with so much care! She left very thorough reports each day and was very communicative/responsive about anything that came up. She even came through in crisis - she arrived one day when there was smoke in the house/the smoke alarm was going off. We called the fire department and she stayed the entire time to make sure everything was ok. We are so grateful for her dedicated care!! 10/10 recommend.”

“Diane and Dave are trustworthy, thoughtful caregivers of our dog, Terry, who checked in w updates and questions and took his medical needs and the summer heat seriously. They gave him lots of loving attention, and we returned home to a happy dog! We’re so pleased to have met them and plan to rely on them for our next trip!”

“Justice was AMAZING! She was extremely attentive to all of my cat’s needs and made sure every little detail of his routine was followed. She went above and beyond in caring for him!! And I felt totally at ease knowing he was in such great hands, I highly recommend!!!😊🤍”

About: I’ve been crazy about pets my whole life—raised with two dogs who taught me love and duty, now sharing my days with a feisty cat and keeping up with my family’s three silly pups. I’m here to pamper your furry friends: epic walks, tons of playtime, big cuddles, or just kicking back together. Cats? I’m their brushing and snuggle champ. Baths or meds? Show me how, and I’m all over it. I get a kick out of every pet’s little quirks! Note: my cat’s a lone wolf, so I can’t host at home. Drop me a line to chat about your pet—I’m pumped to give them the fun and care they’ll totally adore! Every morning of the week until 12h30, I can pass to walk and play with your animal. I can maybe be free during the weekend. We need to discuss first. I live for animals and their happiness, with a sharp eye for what they’re feeling. I pick up on stress signals and tweak my care to fit them perfectly, creating a peaceful vibe where they can just be themselves. Whether it’s a burst of play to lift their spirits or a quiet moment to ease their mind, I tune into their world and make it better.
“This is the second time Emily has petsit for my 2 cats. As always she was amazing. My first experience was back in February when I had to go on an extended work trip for 10 days. Emily was amazing and my 2 cats warmed right up to her. She took such great care of them. She went above and beyond even making it to take care of them during the blizzard. I cannot recommend Emily enough. She will love your pets like they are her own making sure their needs are met while giving lots of play time and cuddles. She even got my extremely timid cat to take her medicine twice a day- an amazing feat!! Her updates and communication were thorough and put me at ease while I was away. I highly recommend her to everyone in the area and will be booking her for my future pet sitting needs.”

I have a very flexible schedule, outside of pet care I am pursuing a career in theater. Extremely flexible schedule! I have free daytime hours, while working on a theater schedule. Great for daytime walks and drop ins. Weekends available, don't hesitate to request! I have house sitting experience to keep your pets company while you're away! I've worked with many breeds and personalities of pet in the place they are most comfortable, happy to just spend time with them and adapt to their routines. I also don't mind doing some general house cleaning if I were to do house sitting and home visits.

I’m currently on my summer break, so I have a very open and flexible schedule for pet care! I’m available most days and can easily adjust to your pet’s routine. In September, I’ll be starting my Master’s classes three times a week, but I’ll still have plenty of time for walks, drop-ins, or visits around my class schedule. My experience with them includes feeding, walks, cleaning cages and outdoor bathroom instances, administering medicine, brushing teeth, bathing, playing, and lots of cuddles! I’ve never been afraid to get my hands dirty and make it my point to respect the boundaries of any animal in my care. About: I love spending time and caring for pets! While I am new to professional pet sitting/dog walking apps, I have really enjoyed walking dogs for friends, and I do have more than 1 and a half years of experience in childcare to bring to the table - one of which I was working with a special needs child. Working with children has made me incredibly patient, attentive, and nurturing. I am excited to bring the same level of care to your pets and gain more experience. I can work Monday to Friday all hours of the day and occasionally on weekends, some mornings on Saturdays and some evenings on Sundays. “Barbara took great care of our cat Charly! We were very happy and at ease with the updates about how our Charly was and how his visits were going. The consistency and thoroughness of the visits and updates were great. We were at ease our entire vacation knowing the he was very well taken care of. We will definitely be rebooking with Barbara for our next vacation and of course recommend her.”

“Definitely Daniela is the type of person who loves, cares, enjoy and have a good chemistry with animals, specially with cats. the way Daniela expresses herself about pets and treat them like they were her own pets… that shows her experience with animals and her lovely personality. she did a good job spending time with my cats, feeding and playing with them. One of my cats is female and she is super shy and she takes her time when getting to know new people, but as soon as she smelled and got close to Daniela , my cat became friendly with her and in that moment I knew Daniela was the perfect person to take care of my cats whenever I’m not home. Daniela provided an excellent service and now she is someone who I can totally trust. 10/10.”

“Debra is great! She was very caring and took good care of my fur baby. I felt comfortable leaving her in charge. Thank you Debra! I look forward to you taking care of Shadow in the future.”

About: Hi there! My name is Jalene, and I’m a dedicated pet sitter based in Cranford, New Jersey. If you’re looking for someone caring, dependable, and experienced to look after your cats or dogs, I’d love to help. I have 2 years of professional experience in animal care, along with a lifetime of hands-on experience as a pet owner myself. Caring for animals has always been something I genuinely love, and I take pride in creating a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for every pet in my care. Throughout my experience working in animal care facilities, my responsibilities included feeding, walking, grooming, assisting with medication administration, monitoring behavior, and providing plenty of companionship and attention. I’ve worked with a wide variety of breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments — from energetic 6-month-old puppies to senior dogs over 15 years old. I’m also comfortable accommodating special diets, unique routines, and detailed care instructions to make sure each pet feels as comfortable and cared for as possible. At times, I handled and cared for over 80 dogs within the facility, which taught me how to stay attentive, organized, and calm in fast-paced environments. Additional responsibilities included maintaining a clean and sanitary space through daily laundry, dishes, and overall facility upkeep. In emergency situations, I’ve been trained to respond appropriately and prioritize the safety of every animal in my care. In May 2022, I received my Pet CPR & First Aid Certification through Paws N Claws 911. My training included identifying signs of illness or distress, cleaning minor wounds, and responding effectively during urgent situations. Whether you need dog walking, overnight care, drop-in visits, or simply someone to give your pets extra love and attention while you’re away, I’m here to help. I understand how much trust goes into leaving your pets with someone else, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I also have four pets of my own, so I completely understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your animals like family. At home, I have a Goldendoodle named Biscuit and three very unique cats named Geo, Snow, and Big-Cat! My availability can be flexible but my typical days are between Monday-Thursday at any time of the day. Friday's I am able to work before 5 pm, Saturday's I have full availability, and Sunday's I am available after 2 pm. All in all, your pets will be in safe and loving hands with me, and I make it my priority to ensure their comfort and happiness while you're away. I would also be more than willing to accommodate any regular scheduling routines or special instructions that you provide. It is my goal to bond with your baby (or multiple fur babies) in order to create a trusting relationship between me and them! Of course, I also want to ensure that you feel comfortable and at peace leaving them in my care so I will undoubtedly communicate effectively at all times!

About: I have been pet sitting since I was in 6th grade, and have been trusted to care for the animals of many families. I have the most experience with cat sitting - both indoor and outdoor - but have taken care of dogs many times as well as had a dog of my own for four years! I am adaptable to any needs your pet might have, as I was used to allergies, injury care, and high excitability with my own family dog. I have loved animals all my life and would love to provide any care possible, for any type of pet! I am a college student on break who currently does not have a job, so my days are very available for pet care! I have reliable transportation and will be able to do multiple visits per day. I provide attentive pet care, and follow any and all instructions very well so your pet can have a great time while you are away! I always make time to stay with your pet for some extra time past just being fed or walked, so that they get all the attention they need.

Diane scheduled a pre-meet with Lily to get acquainted with her and has been very patient with our mischievous cat. All of her needs were met while we were away and we enjoyed the check in photos. She has also brought new toys and had new ideas on how to get Lily to warm up to her with is much appreciated

Justice was amazing with Tini. He is usually so shy and rarely comes out to meet new people but he was out by the end of her first visit. We were away for a week and felt completely comfortable because of her daily summaries/visit updates and pics that she sends of her time with Tini. Will definitely book her again in the future.

I cannot recommend Emily enough. She will love your pets like they are her own making sure their needs are met while giving lots of play time and cuddles. She even got my extremely timid cat to take her medicine twice a day- an amazing feat!! Her updates and communication were thorough and put me at ease while I was away. I highly recommend her to everyone in the area and will be booking her for my future pet sitting needs.

Shannon provided cat sitting for my two cats over a period of a week via daily drop ins. She was detailed and thorough in her meet and great. Shannon was intentive to my cats needs, kept me updated throughout my travel, and made sure to exercise my cats the best one can. She easily navigated my automated cat feeders, kept the litter box clean, and made sure to tidy up any messes the cats may have made between visits. I'm sure the boys will miss their daily play time and tube treat sessions with Shannon! Will be sure to book again.

This was my first booking with Brittany for drop-in visits for my cats, and I will definitely be booking her again for future trips! I was very stressed leading up to the trip about finding care my them, but was immediately put at ease after talking to her. She took great care of my fur babies and had amazing communication. She picked up on their quirks so quickly and they loved her. Strongly recommend!
Love the notes that Steven leaves at the end of each visit to tell me about the progress of his interactions with my shyer cat and what he does with my more outgoing one! Makes each time I go on vacation a less stressful knowing my cats are in good hands and the notes and photos are always one of the highlights of my days away!

Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Cranford. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
