“Our first experience leaving our dog with someone new . Codey is like another one of our kids so i was very selective. I was so nervous at first but the attention and daily communication with Cristina before we left and during helped ease my fears. She kept in contact with me daily so we could enjoy our vacation. Getting pictures with updates on their daily activities i could see Codey was getting the attention and care like he was her own. We look forward to booking with Cristina again.”

About: I’ve been caring for animals since I was 10 years old, starting by helping my parents with there pet-sitting. By the time I turned 14, I began pet sitting on my own, and I’ve been trusted ever since. Neighbors, friend, and family rely on me to walk, feed, bathe, and look after their pets like they’re my own With years of hand-on experience, I understand how important it is to keep pet safe, happy, and comfortable. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-ins, or full-time care, I’m committed to giving every pet the attention and love they deserve. My schedule is flexible, and I’m available throughout the week for walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting. I plan my days around the pets I care for, making sure they get consistent attention, timely feedings, and regular outdoor time. Whether you need early-morning help, mid-day visits, or evening care, I work to accommodate your routine and keep your pet’s day running smoothly. Safety is always my top priority. I make sure every pet is supervised, secure, and cared for according to their routine and needs. I follow instructions closely, keep environments clean, and pay attention to details so pets stay comfortable and stress-free. Families, neighbors, and friends have trusted me for years because I treat every animal with patience, respect, and consistency. Your pet’s well-being comes first, and I work hard to create a calm, safe environment they can relax in.

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, including dogs, cats, fish, hamsters. I also have experience with owning dogs that have auto immune diseases or medical conditions requiring routine medication. I love animals and have ample experience in walking, caring for, and helping out with animals. I am currently a college student, with only one class daily. I have a 3 day/week (2 hour) part time job, and spend the rest of my time doing homework and caring for my dogs. I am very flexible and understand house rules, as well as different pet care rules based on individual pets. I am more than happy to work with any specific instructions to best fit your pet’s needs.
“I highly recommend her to take care at her pet very attentive she sent several photos for me and videos too besides taking a walk with him in some places like Starbucks, I liked it a lot and for sure if I travel to the region again. I will have no doubts and I'll left Odin with her. Thank you very much.”

“Thank you so much for caring for Nipsey! I appreciate the updates, photos and report card! Excellent sitter even accommodated my last minute booking . He will be back! Thank you for the gift basket”

About: I have about 10 years of experience in caring for cats and dogs. Reliable, and passionate pet sitter. Ready to love your furry family member I’m available for boarding Monday through Friday after 4 PM. Saturday and Sunday any time. I work part time so I have plenty of time to play. I provide a calm and welcoming home where pets can feel comfortable. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, and rest.
“Grace is very knowledgeable about dogs and is very attentive to them. We were so happy she accommodated our last minute request for our Whisky to stay with her this past weekend.”

About: I've taken care of dogs, since I was 10. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. In my family we have all ways had 2 small dogs, and now I have my current dog of 5 years, love him so much like my baby, sleeps and cuddles with me all the time. I'm currently a stay at home mom, so I have plenty of time to play/walk with your pups! I'm available for dog walking, while my son is in school and in the afternoon. Open availability on the weekends. I think trust is important when it comes to animals. Animals need to smell you first to get to know you. I always let an animal smell my hand and then I’ll ease into petting them once I can tell from body language if they want me to.

This was our first time leaving our dogs and using Rover. We chose Nicholas and Paula because they had a Goldendoodle, and we had a goldendoodle too. They communicated and sent update pictures and messages. Our dogs did great and were happy as well. We will definitely book with them again.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their McHenry home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your McHenry.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your McHenry sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
