“Shannon is 100 percent tip notch.. Shannon gave updates with pictures through out the visit. My little girl just loved her., and by the time I got her home she went straight to bed, she had a wonderful time on walks and trips to the beach. I would highly recommend and will be using again in the future. Thank you so much Shannon. We appreciate you 😊”

“Emily was INCREDIBLE! She was available for a last minute booking, took incredible care of our baby Ivy, and she even left our home cleaner than she found it. We will certainly be booking with her again!”

“Maddie did great! I didn't get as much prepared as I would have liked, and Tessa had some unexpected stomach problems but she flexed and took everything in stride. I feel very confident in having her back to watch my large dog.”

“Emily was fantastic! My senior dog is easily stressed and struggles when we have to be gone. But Emily gave her so much love and attention she had 0 problems. I highly recommend and will book again.”

“Olivia did a fantastic job taking care of my girl Olive while I was away for the weekend. She even ended up staying a couple of extra nights due to blizzard conditions that prevented me from getting home. The apartment was clean, my dog seemed happy and she even left me a bowl of homemade chili. Highly recommend!”

“Eliza was a great pet sitter! She stayed in our home for a full week and took wonderful care of both our dog and cat. It was clear from the updates and our pets' happy demeanor when we returned that they received plenty of love, attention, and companionship while we were away.”

“Janelle is a fabulous “pawsitter”. I asked her to stop by place after I returned home. Miss Pretty, my 14 year old cat, immediately ran to her and was so excited & affectionate!!! 🤗 What more can I say, this interaction says it all. Thank You Janelle for providing such wonderful care to my precious cat. I will use her again when the need arises. 🙏😘”

“Maggie and Oakley instantly accepted Matt. Matt recognized large dog excitement and responsed with quiet control. He respected Maggie's senior needs. While Oakley just wanted to cuddle. Matt gathered information for their care, sent us pictures of each dog and adapted his service to our needs. We will hire Matt again for our dogs care”
“Marianna was amazing ! she was highly adaptive , easy to communicate with and super up front. She showed up on time. About: You can enjoy complete peace of mind knowing your dog is receiving dedicated, one-on-one care in my home. Since I don’t currently have any pets of my own, your dog will be my sole focus, ensuring they feel safe, welcome, and active. I have a large, fully fenced-in backyard that provides plenty of room for supervised play and exercise. Because I work remotely, your pet will have constant companionship and the freedom to enjoy the yard throughout the day. Having previously owned a Golden Retriever and two mixed-breed rescues, I am experienced in caring for different personalities and activity levels. Because I work from home and live alone, your dog becomes my primary companion and the heartbeat of my home. My daily routine is perfectly suited for a pet who thrives on consistency and attention. We start each morning with breakfast and a potty break in the large fenced-in backyard before I settle in for work. While I am at my desk, your dog is welcome to nap in my office or relax at my feet, enjoying a calm and quiet environment. I make it a point to step away from my screen for several breaks throughout the day, which provides the perfect opportunity for us to head outside for fresh air and supervised playtime in the yard. Once I log off for the evening, we head out for a long walk to wind down and get some exercise. My weekends are dedicated to trail walking, and I love having a furry friend join me for these longer outdoor adventures. Since I don't have other pets or children, your dog will truly be the centerpiece of my day and will fit right into my active lifestyle. Since I work from home and live alone, I provide a quiet, low-stress environment where your dog is the sole focus of my attention. My day is built around companionship—your dog can lounge in my office while I work, and we take frequent breaks to play in my large, fully fenced-in backyard. I strictly follow your existing feeding and medication schedule to keep their routine as normal as possible. Because I am active, they will enjoy a long evening walk every day and the option for trail adventures on the weekends.
“Ella was great to work with and took great care of our boy! She was very responsive and accommodating to our schedules. We loved getting updates and photos while we were away. Would definitely recommend and use her services again :)”

“I cannot recommend Sara highly enough!! I've now found my go-to sitter! From our very first messages she was extremely communicative and caring, going above and beyond to make sure my pup kept his routine. She spent tons of extra time on our meet-n-greet, going through all our details and was immediately affectionate with my pup (he loved her too). He's a big reactive active dog so I was nervous about finding a person who could handle him, but she was natural, wise, engaged and kind from the start! When I was away she sent tons of pictures, videos, and updates which was so relieving. It was so nice having Sara stay at my house. When I came home my house perfectly kept and my dog was so relaxed and happy. She's the best!”

“Bailey was great with our pup Sully! She sent regular updates w/ photos which was really nice since we were about 7hrs away. Sully looked like he was loving life with all of the walks, treats and snuggles. Definitely recommend Bailey!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Marquette
This was our 3rd sit with Belle. She is great with our dogs, who love her. She keeps us updated on how they're all doing with daily messages and photos. She takes great care of the house which was spotless when we returned. And finally, she is just a really sweet person to talk with and work with. She has become our first choice whenever we need to be out of town.

Hannah was amazing! She made sure that our dog got daily walks, sent updates and photos, and left the house spotless. There was a blizzard during her stay, and it was such a relief to have her there looking after the pets and house. We loved having her & will definitely hire her again!

Justin was terrific! He came to meet our dogs ahead of time and even took extra care to make sure our high-anxiety dog was comfortable with him. Our pup is a bit difficult for new people and Justin took the time to let him warm up. Truly a great sitter! He stayed at our house with 2 dogs, took great care of them, left our house spotless, and was overall a wonderful sitter! Thank you, Justin!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marquette walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marquette maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marquette choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
