Pet care experience

reliable dog lover who loves walks

Hi! I’m a reliable and caring dog walker who genuinely enjoys spending time outdoors with animals. I have a professional background working in caregiving and therapy settings, which has helped me develop a calm, attentive, and responsible approach when working with both people and animals. I also had a dog named Toby, who I loved deeply and took on daily walks. He recently passed away, and caring for him throughout his life gave me a strong appreciation for how important consistency, patience, and gentle care are for pets. Rover is giving me an opportunity to honor Toby while helping other pet owners. <3 I love getting outside for walks and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away or busy. I’m very dependable, detail-oriented, and focused on creating a positive experience for every pet I work with. I look forward to meeting your pet and giving them safe, fun, and consistent care!

Doggy Day Care • Sep 05, 2026

Shannon was so great with my young German shepherd. She was reliable and communicated well. She took my girlie on a field trip while I was visiting town to run the marathon. I was totally at ease even not having my phone on me because I knew she was in good hands. She sent cute updates and photos and took her on a nice walk. 🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎

Dog Walking • Aug 07, 2026

I needed someone to take my senior boy out for a walk while I was away for the day and Shannon was great! She was responsive and patient with my guy, who isn’t always a fan of midday walks and prefers to roll in the grass. Would highly recommend!

Shannon took great care of our dog and was communicative throughout the day. Her house was very dog friendly, and my dog enjoyed sleeping on the couch and exploring her backyard.

House Sitting • Jul 27, 2026

Shannon was awesome! Our puppy Sadie was well cared for and got plenty of attention. She barely noticed us leave the house because she was already having fun. It was our first time leaving her with a sitter and was a huge success, which allowed us to attend a family wedding all day and into the night with no stress about leaving her. Shannon sent pictures periodically and let us know how everything was going. We would definitely recommend Shannon and would book with her again in a heartbeat!

Schedule

In the summer, I have a very flexible schedule, so I’m generally available throughout the day for walks and drop-in visits. I’m able to plan my time around bookings and be consistent once I commit to something. I also like being active and outside, so pet care fits really naturally into my summer routine.

Safety, trust & environment

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize following their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, and any specific instructions provided. I make sure the pet feels comfortable and secure by keeping their environment consistent and minimizing stress. For dog walking or drop-in visits, I focus on safety first. That includes using proper leash control, paying attention to the dog’s behavior, and making sure they get both exercise and care. I also communicate with the owner as needed so they feel updated and reassured.

A typical day

I like to tailor activities based on each pet’s personality and energy level. For more active dogs, that might include longer walks, playtime, or exploring new routes, while more relaxed pets might enjoy slower walks or just spending time together. I also incorporate simple play like fetch or enrichment activities, and I always make sure they’re getting both physical activity and positive interaction.

I think it’s really important to know a pet’s routine, temperament, and any specific needs ahead of time. For example, things like feeding schedules, energy level, triggers, or how they do on walks. I also like to know about any medical needs, medications, or behavioral considerations so I can provide safe and consistent care. Overall, I want to make sure I’m creating a comfortable and predictable experience for the pet.
