“She did an amazing job keeping our kitty happy, healthy, and socialized while we were gone. We loved the daily recaps with what happened and it was a great peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Thank you so much Stephanie!!”

“One of my dogs had never had a sitter before and was extra nervous to eat, so he improvised and took their food bowls to the back deck outside where they're more comfortable. I know our dogs will be in good hands while we are gone”

“HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Heather is FANTASTIC!!! Very easy to communicate with, timely, kind, and really cares for our pet. She asked great questions for things I didn’t even think of and she made sure our dog was well taken care of while we were unavailable.”

I have had close family and friends who call me for any dog sitting or care taking services. I am a teacher with a lot of availability during the summer so I can most likely cover any hours you need. I truly love animals and I will treat your pets like my own 🥰 I am a teacher during the months of August-May so I have a lot of availability during the summer. I am not shy with communication!
About: Hello! I’m a full-time high school teacher who loves animals… but my own dog passed away last year and for some reason I’m just not ready to get a new one. But I love dogs!! So, in the meantime, I am getting my pet love by dog-sitting. I mostly set this up to do over the summer when I was off work and super flexible, but I’ve decided to keep doing it some—with an emphasis on weekends and public holidays when I’m not at work :) I can do some weekdays, but we’d need to chat about it first. I have gotten a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment out of this so far (which is truly why I’m doing this) and plan to continue this until that stops (or until I decide to adopt a new furry friend who might need most of my attention). I grew up with dogs and have had a variety of breeds, shapes, sizes over the decades. I dog-sat during college and during grad school for friends, professors, and a few strangers I connected with on an older website (I feel like it was called care-dot-com for anyone who’s old enough to remember that). As someone who is a “bit” older, I’m reliable and have very little social life!! Perfect for you and your pet! I’m also super motivated to make your dog as happy as I can! I miss that aspect of having a pet—you take care of them and they keep you sane in this crazy world. Update: During the school year, I’m most available on weekends but can of course provide care in the afternoon and evening on a school/week day… just not as much as I can on a weekend or holiday :) I have a wire fenced yard (not a privacy fence). It’s not the biggest but I’ve also had a smaller yard! There are neighboring dogs, as well, so keep that in mind. As mentioned, no dog at the moment. I’m very careful with dogs in terms of behavior. I was raised to understand that the person is responsible for the dog’s behavior. This means paying attention, shortening the lead when needed, helping the dog feel secure, crossing the street, etc.
“Danielle does a great job. She took wonderful care of our senior pup and gave him extra love when he seemed sad. She is great at communicating with you, and we would not hesitate to have her sit with him again.”

About: Always grew up with dogs, have a medium size dog myself who loves meeting and playing with new pets. Available primary on weekends for more extensive attention, but am open to weekday walks or sitting. Love adventures to dog parks permitting good weather and owner permission. Abundance of treats and play time. Feel like my living area has a high demand for sitters, but not enough open spots so I’m wishing to dig in myself, see if there is a need. Live on busy road/sidewalks on unfenced property, so I will require dogs be leashed when outside. Must be UTD on rabies, heart guard, and flea/tick medicines. Thank you in advance. Open to meet and greets prior to scheduled visits/stays. Open to updates/photos based on owner’s preferences.
About: I have been a Registered Veterinary Technician since 2024. I work in the small animal emergency/critical care department. I am RECOVER certified and Fear Free certified. I have been an animal my whole life and am now devoted to taking care and improving their lives. I do have a full time job but I start late in the day. If you need me to walk your dog or check in at your home I can do early mornings to early afternoon. My schedule also changes month to month from week days to weekends so depending on the month I can have more availability during my days off. I always make sure to see the comfort levels of animals before interaction. I bad interaction can break your pets trust. My FEAR FREE training has allowed me to work with patients comfort levels and how to appropriately handle scared animals. My CPR RECOVER training certifies me to be able to perform CPR on your pet effectively.
“Jenna is amazing!!! She put our minds at ease knowing she was there with our cats! She did exactly as we requested. She is very flexible. She took keepsake photos of my cats! She will be requested each time we need a sitter. We are extremely pleased with Jenna’s services. Thank you Jenna!!!”

About: I have three dogs at home Mini is a small Pomeranian poodle mix, Daisy is a beagle Terrier mix, Lucy is a large malamute and Pyrenees mix . I love interacting with them and making them happy like they do for me. I currently only work Saturday and Sunday and I Doordash when I can on the weekdays. Id love to switch over to working Rover as much as possible. At home I make sure that my dogs get let out every two hours to get some fresh air and of course I know the signs to let them out sooner. I play with them at least twice a day and give them lots of cuddles. Anytime I’m interacting with a new dog I give them space and slight hand movements where they can see to build trust.

As a veterinary student and lifelong animal lover, caring for pets is already a big part of my daily routine. I provide regular updates, photos, and communication so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is receiving loving, attentive care.
“Karly is always amazing with our fur babies. She was able to adjust the schedule to accommodate a later shift for my husband and she stopped back to check on them so we didn’t have to worry. Love that she is so reliable and loves them like we do.”

About: From keeping care of my family pets in the absence of my parents at a young age to spending late nights as a sitter for neighbors’ dogs, I have taken careful care of dogs in all shapes and sizes since I was twelve. I love snuggling and bonding with dogs, and I adore being there for them when their furball parents are unable to be with them. I’m a part-time worker at a hotel on Tuesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. I work the evening shifts from 3-11pm. On Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, I’m available to spend time with your pups all day! I love walking, and I would love to take your dog on my daily five mile walk with me as a fluffy partner in crime. I strive to create a friendly and loving environment for the doggies I watch. By providing them with quality time such as walking, playing with toys, or simply lying on the couch together, I will give your pup a space of peace and care while you’re away.
About: Hey there! As the daughter of a veterinarian, growing up around animals was a given so I have experience with dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and health statuses (if your pet needs any specific care). I also have two cats of my own! I look forward to meeting your pets! I currently work a full time day job, so my availability at the moment is mostly evening/weekend, but certain circumstances may allow for additional availability depending. I’ll be sure to help your pets just as safe with me as they feel with you and try to maintain their normal routine to the best of my ability.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
