“We booked day care with Francine super last minute and she accepted a same day request (on Christmas Eve!!) Our dog had a great time with their 2 dogs, running around in their fenced in back yard and chilling in the house. We would strongly recommend booking with Francine!”

“We had such a great experience with this daycare! They were absolutely amazing—so kind, attentive, and clearly loves what they do. Saint had the best time and really bonded with their dog, Kai. They went on walks, played together, and even had time to rest and nap, which I really appreciated. I felt completely at ease knowing Saint was in such good hands. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!”

“Ken and Felice are awesome! Definitely going to book with them again! :) Amazing communication and planning. My pup had a cone and stitches so he couldn't be boarded at his usual place, so thank you again so incredibly much for coming through for me in a pinch! I'm infinitely grateful and will book again!”

“This was the first time my senior Cavalier was taken to “doggy daycare.” Susan was so wonderful with him and sent pictures mid-day to reassure me. She was very conscientious to understand any of his special needs as a senior dog. He is already scheduled to go back next week.”

“Tiffany has again been amazing with accommodating our ever-changing schedules. Our dog feels totally comfortable with her and gets excited to see her in the mornings. We are definitely lucky to have found someone to take such great care of our girl!”

“I'm one of Sharon's repeat customers and she has watched my 3 year old for a long time now. My dog has stayed overnight with her a whole week and also for daycare. Sharon is extreme reliable and trustworthy. She takes care of my dog as if it were hers. I truly appreciate you Sharon!”

“Esther and Yi took great care of Eevee. Eevee was a picky and slow eater but Esther ans Yi was very patient and accompanied her to finish her food. Eevee had a great time with their puppies Milk and Peanut! She can’t wait to have her next vacation in Esther and Yi’s house!”

“Liz and Jeffrey were so wonderful with Lola and Daisy! It was fairly last minute and they were incredibly understanding. They provided a lot of information about their home and care that made me feel so much better about dropping my girls off with them. They even got to attend the eclipse viewing party with some fabulous kids!! They provided lots of updates and videos which helped me enjoy a long day at work. One of the best Rover experiences I've ever had, if not the very best!!”

About: I am very active and like to walk 3 or so miles everyday, leave your dog with me and they will make sure to get good exercise! I work from home and have great deal of flexibility! I can change my schedule quickly to meet the needs of the day or the dog! I like to make sure they are well fed and well exercised while having a quite spot for themselves if they like or an ability to be right next to me the entire day.
“Wow - Maria is sooo understanding! The clocks at work were not changed for daylight savings, so I was an hour late for an already late pick up. Maria was very kind and understanding. It really makes me feel great to know they are always looking out for Sparky, and now for me as well!”

“Robin made it really easy to drop my dog off and pick him up. He had a great playdate while we were going out for lunch. Robin sent lots of cute pictures and videos.”

“Jeremy was great! We had to make changes to the reservation, and he was very responsive and made changes quickly. He also did a fantastic job watching Indi, and he provided a lot of picture updates. Thanks for doing such a great job with our dog!”
“Teddy had a fabulous time at Lynn's. We were visiting Columbia to attend our grandson's graduation and we needed someone to take care of him for the day. Teddy is used to having a lot of love and attention and we were a bit nervous about leaving him. However, Lynn made him feel very comfortable, provided a very dog-friendly environment, and sent us pictures throughout the day. He was not even very excited to see us when we came to pick him up. He said "hello" to us and then ran right back into Lynn's home. Highly recommend Lynn. You will have peace of mind knowing that your dog will be in excellent hands”

“She was great with my dog! I really appreciated her inviting me to do a meet and greet before the daycare. It gave her an opportunity to meet my dog and for him to meet her. She has a dog friendly and secure backyard which put me at ease. She also seemed very knowledgeable about dogs and even worked with him after I mentioned his separation anxiety. My dog was happy when I picked him up. She even had him ready in his raincoat. I would definitely recommend her.”

“Lingli came through for our last minute doggy daycare needs and we are grateful! She was consistently responsive over messages, and was very sweet to our small dog, Gary, during their meet and greet, gently letting him get used to her. He was excited to see her again when we returned for drop off a couple days later. We appreciated the photos of his stay and know he was well looked after.”

“Sabrina and Ryan are wonderful with my dog Toby....He always loves visiting them and they take great care of him. They are also very flexible which I need and appreciate. :)”

“Sadé is awesome and our dog loves her dog, Bruce. I have an energetic mini golden doodle who is sweet but a handful. He loves hanging at Sadé’s place and comes back happier and more settled. Her partner Edward is also great with Scout. They’ve even taught him tricks he didn’t know before and are super kind and skillful.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - MacGills Common
Vanessa provided a great day of dog sitting to my two dogs. One dog is new to us and has lots of anxiety about new people and places. Vanessa was terrific about helping Pippi acclimate to a new place and person. Vanessa’s own dogs helped Pippi feel comfortable. My other dog Maisy has spent time with Vanessa before and is happy when we arrive at her house.

Wydia, has taken such good care of my Shih Tzu. He wasn't feeling well on one of the days that she kept him and she took such good care of him! I couldn't have asked for more and it gave me such peace of mind at work. He's always so happy to see her and greeted her this morning with a lip kiss ;) And, it just made me realize how much he truly loves her. I highly recommend her!

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MD ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
