“This was the first time we used Sara for a dog walk in our neighborhood. It was a last minute thing and she was extremely kind to accept and even to come for a quick Meet and Greet. She was prompt and followed all of the instructions. I would definitely call on her again!”

“Jaeda arrived on time for both the meet and greet and dog walk. She’s personable and took the time to get to know my pup a little better. She asked good questions about her habits and temperament. She was respectful of my home and pup!”

“Zachary is a true dog whisperer and absolutely amazing! He deeply cares and makes sure our dog gets the best walks. Could not recommend him any higher. Our dog loves him!”

“Molly was professional, reliable, and took excellent care of my dog. I always felt confident my dog was in great hands. I’ll definitely book her again when needed and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy dog walker!”

“Laurie is always great. She was even able to come on a holiday with last minute notice. We're very grateful. We can enjoy ourselves more when we know our little ones are in good hands. Thank you Laurie!”
“Stellar communication and super adaptable to my changing plans. I appreciated his focus on safety for my pup by initiating a meet and greet and being contentious of the heat index with my senior dog’s capabilities.”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs and cats my whole life and have always been an animal person. I’ve spent plenty of time caring for friends’ pets and enjoy making sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. I love getting dogs outside for walks, hikes, and little adventures, but I’m just as happy hanging out at home with a cat or a laid-back pup. I’m available for drop-ins, walks, and overnight stays if you’re traveling and want someone reliable looking after your pets. I’ll treat your animals like they’re my own and make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, and care while you’re away. My schedule is pretty pet-friendly! I’m an early riser (we’re talking around 4:30 AM — yes, I know, it’s a little ridiculous), which means I have plenty of time in the mornings for walks, check-ins, playtime, and keeping your pets company before my workday starts at 11:30 AM. I also have plenty of availability on weekends, making it easy to fit in walks, adventures, and quality time with your furry friends. Whether your dog is ready to hit the trail before most people have had their coffee or your cat just wants some attention and a quiet hangout, I’m happy to help. Basically, my alarm clock and my love for animals have teamed up to make me a pretty convenient pet sitter! I know leaving your pets with someone new can feel a little like leaving your kids with a babysitter — except your pets probably judge me more and can’t tell me what they want (besides snacks). My approach is simple: keep them safe, comfortable, and as close to their normal routine as possible. I’ll treat your home with respect, follow your instructions, and make sure your pets get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection while you’re away. Whether your dog needs a walking buddy, your cat needs someone to pretend they’re not the boss of the house, or your pet just needs some company and belly rubs, I’m happy to help. My goal is for your pets to have a great time and for you to enjoy your trip without worrying about what’s happening back home.

“Elizabeth did a fantastic job with our dog Dipper. She came for a meet and greet and was very thoughtful in asking all the right questions to know how to best care for him. He absolutely adored her. Highly recommend!”

“Great communication. Goes over and above for my dog. My dog is a more complicated case with anxiety and GI issues. Ariana is great with helping my dog out. 100% would recommend. She is our dogs best friend.”

“We can't say enough good things about Christina. We were looking for a dog sitter who was not only reliable but would also give our pup plenty of love and attention. Christina exceeded our expectations.”
“Brett is a great asset to my family. Shadow adores him and I am so very happy with his services. I am physically unable to walk her as far or fast as Brett does. Also, he is a consummate professional. Randye Brittain”
“Marco has been absolutely wonderful with our dog. He's very kind, and his level of communication is so appreciated. He goes the extra mile every day in his care for our dog on their daily walks. Really really grateful we found him for our pup!”

About: I have been caring for my own pets for 10+ years and could like to get into formal care. I have also pet sat for my friends and family in the past. As of now I am available daily for pet sitting or walking. I don’t mind waking up early. Would prefer not to be out too late alone. I like to hang out with my dog and take him for walks. He’s pretty lazy though so we just sit together a lot of the time. I will follow any instructions you leave.
“Naedra helped us out last minute. She was super easy to communicate with. She took great care of our puppy, taking him on two walks each day. She sent pictures and filled us in on everything. We really appreciated her helping us and will definitely use her again!”

“Vergil took the request with less than 24 hours notice and quickly am a connection with our pups. He clearly took the time and effort to maximize their walks and they got great exercise. He even managed to accommodate an extension ensuring we had a great time while we were away. We will DEFINITELY work with him again.”

About: I love training dogs bodies and minds through exercise and mental stimulation. I’ve owned, walked and was a pet sitter for a variety of dogs. I’ve most recently owned/trained a puppy (he is now almost one). I’m currently working part-time and have a somewhat flexible schedule. Because of this, I will have plenty of time to love on and care for your pup! I am open to walking your dog on a leash, playing with it in your yard, or taking it to the local off-leash dog park.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - MacGills Common
Kim is amazing. She is calm, kind, empathetic and my dog is truly in love with her. Shes also always on time and extremely responsive via the app. I was super nervous about finding a dog sitter/walker after some bad experiences with our last dog and feel truly relieved to have someone we can rely on to treat our dog like her own. If she ever stops walking dogs, I’m not sure what we’ll do!

Denssy continues to be an all star walker for us🤩 She helped me by covering some last minute booking days over the past two weeks and even tried to go the extra mile and let me know that she could cover even more if needed. We appreciate her so much!! And she’s always so sweet with Gibson🩷

Michaela has been absolutely wonderful with my dogs, Max and Lucy. She is consistently on time, reliable, and incredibly kind. It gives me real peace of mind knowing they’re in such caring and capable hands. She goes above and beyond to be helpful, and it truly shows in the way Max and Lucy respond to her. I highly recommend Michaela to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog walker.

Zachary was a great walker for our lab, I was nervous since we didn’t do a pre-meet, but of course my dog will go with just about anyone let’s be honest lol. Zachary was great to work with and sent great updates and was responsive when needed. Would definitely book again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
