“Jordan is an amazing dog sitter, excellent communication, professional and our dogs love her. I was able to fully enjoy being away because she was taking wonderful care of our dogs. Will definitely have her sit again!”

“Liz was awesome! Our fur babies loved her! She sent several pics even though she stayed 1 night. When we got home, everything was nice and neat. We highly recommend Liz and would definitely use her again!”

“We could not have been happier with Kayla! My wife and I took an international trip for more than a week and entrusted Kayla with both our home and our two large dogs, Ragnar and Rollo. From the moment we met her, we felt completely comfortable leaving everything in her care. Kayla was friendly, professional, communicative, and incredibly attentive to detail. She clearly loves dogs, and it showed in every interaction. We especially appreciated the photos and updates she sent, including some wonderful pictures of her playing with Ragnar and Rollo, making sure they got plenty of exercise, attention, and, of course, belly rubs. When you’re traveling overseas, peace of mind is priceless, and Kayla gave us exactly that. We never worried about the dogs or the house because we knew they were in capable hands. We returned home to two happy, well-cared-for dogs and a house that was just as we left it. We would absolutely book Kayla again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and dependable pet sitter. Ragnar and Rollo clearly loved their time with her, and so did we.”

“Avary did a wonderful job with taking care of my fur babies. She was reliable and trustworthy. She arrived on time, kept me updated, sent pictures, and followed through with requests. I will definitely be using her in the future and would recommend her to anyone.”

“McKinnon does a wonderful job dog sitting for our dogs and our home. She spends quality time with them and excellent care. I would highly recommend her to take care of your family pets.”

“Mary was fantastic with Ricky and Riley. She really made them feel at home in my absence. Whether it was playing with them in the backyard or comforting them in a thunderstorm, she was professional and diligent. I strongly recommend her services, and I know I will be calling her again.”

“Suzanne was nothing but spectacular. She was extremely meticulous with our pets and I was very comfortable having her stay in our home. She went above and beyond with things around the house, inside and out. Watered plants, filled feeders, laundry etc. She was always reachable and sent pictures. I am pretty particular with who I choose to watch our pets and Suzanne exceeded my expectations. ❤️ Thank you, Suzanne!!”

“Alicia is a dream come true pet sitter. These little fur balls are our everything and she treated them as if they were own. We went out on a day trip knowing they were well taken care of. She sent several pictures which made us feel even better. We will definitely be using Alicia again. Thank you Alicia 😊”

“This was my first time leaving my babies Maggie and Milo for a trip and I was absolutely terrified of it. I was very worried about Maggie in particular because she has separation anxiety and doesn’t warm up to strangers. When Elizabeth saw that Maggie wouldn’t eat whatsoever, she went to the store and bought some food that helped with her appetite. She even took Milo to the vet since nobody else could take him and began administering his meds. I struck gold with Elizabeth who went above and beyond to gain their trust and take care of them. She also did all she could to reassure me and has won my trust. She took such good care of my dogs and I highly recommend her. Definitely will be having her dog sit my babies again when necessary!”

“Had a wonderful first experience with Cathy! She was attentive, caring, and always made sure to communicate. My cat needed eye drops 3 times a day due to an infection and she did an excellent job caring for my baby. I would highly recommend Cathy!! I can’t say how much I appreciate her being so flexible and accommodating for my pets needs. Thank you Cathy you are amazing!!!”

“Veronica an outstanding house sitter for us and our 3 goldens. She took great care of our home and "kids" while we were away with great communication and check ins all the way. She left our home as she had found it, and I will not hesitate to hire her again.”

“My wife and I had the opportunity to take a 3 1/2 week trip out of the country. We weren’t sure what to do with our fur babies because it was too long to put either of them in a kennel. We looked at Rover‘s website and found Jenna who agreed to watch our fur babies in our home for the duration of our trip. Our beagle is a rescue who has a number of special needs due to abuse as a puppy. Jenna did a wonderful job of watching both our beagle and our kitty cat for the time we were gone. It’s obvious Jenna loves animals and we will certainly book her again if we ever need to leave town for an extended period. We highly recommend Jenna as that only a pet sitter, but a house sitter as well.”

“I have a 4 1/2 year old chihuahua who is my baby. Besides her spay surgery I’ve never left her overnight. I had to leave her this past weekend. I accidentally found Matt because I forgot to change my address after a recent move. Thank goodness I did! After the meet and greet Cammie was ready to go home with him! Dogs know good people so I knew I found the right sitter. Matt took such good care of her and sent me the cutest pics of my sweet baby girl. Thank you so much Matt! I will be using you again!!”

About: Whether you need assistance with walking, drop-ins, or at-home care- I am excited for it all! I have been around animals my whole life growing up on a farm, and have great love for our furry (and not so furry) best friends. I am comfortable administering medications and am happy to transport pets in an emergency or if we are going on a “field trip”. In my heart, the bigger the pup the better, but I enjoy all dogs’ company and have had them ranging from chi-mixes up thru GWPs. With cats, I am experienced in assisting with kitting, and have bottle-fed orphaned kits. I currently have a dog who is cat, dog, and miscellaneous pet-friendly, and he has assisted me in caring for a number of dogs and cats. If you would prefer I not bring him to your home, let’s talk about it and see if I can still meet your pet care needs! I work part-time as a mobile pet groomer, so I have plenty of time to drop in throughout the day to spend time with your pets or take them on a walk. Irregardless of service booked, I am happy to communicate with you as much or as little as you would like about how things are going (bathroom descriptors/ images, eating details, behavior/stress responses, etc) and will take plenty of photos to send you! My camera roll is already 90% animals, so what is a few (hundred) more pictures 😆 Service Specific: Pet Sitting (in your home): If you would like me to stay at your home with your pet, I will clarify that I have a dog of my own who is extremely well behaved and has sat all of my cat and dog clients with me. I never leave pets unattended/ unsupervised together, and for times when I leave your home, I will crate or take my dog with me to ensure pet safety, though there is zero history of aggression. Pet Sitting (in my home): Currently not offering Drop Ins: For drop in visits, I am happy to bring or leave my dog- if your pet enjoys playing with other dogs and they pass the friendship-vibe check, then I am totally in support of having a drop in be a play date. Otherwise, I can spend whatever your requested amount of time is petting, brushing, feeding, walking, or cuddling with your pet- whatever you think they need or that they tell me! Walks: If your pet is dog-friendly, the more the merrier! I am comfortable walking up to 3 dogs at a time, and have often taken clients on walks with my dog. Walks specifics are highly dependent on your cat/dog’s needs and I am happy to discuss what you want, be it a minimum distance or time!
“He sent daily photo updates and always responded quickly about the dogs. They seemed happy and like themselves when I came back , which is a great sign since one of my dogs doesn’t do well with change. Highly recommend and will book again when needed.”

“Taylor did an amazing job with our two dogs and cat. She has incredible communication skills, and provides proactive updates including photos and videos. Our animals responded positively to Taylor from Day 1. She asks all the right questions at the right time. We look forward to using her again and can’t recommend her enough.”

“Patricia has been watching my babies off and on before she joined Rover. now it’s good to have a platform to schedule the times! I must say one of my dogs love her more than me hahaha. She treats them like her own babies! Given I have two large dogs it’s nice she has a huge yard for them To run around in and they feel like she’s their second mom. Could not say enough nice things about her and how happy my dogs are with her. I think they have so much fun they don’t want to come home 😔. 5 stars!”

Courtney was fantastic! She dogsat our needy pitbull for 3 weeks and took such good care of him and our home. She even took him to the vet when he had a small issue and coordinated meds. She is loving, responsible and responsive- a real gem! Grateful to have found her! Thanks so much, Courtney!

We had such a great experience! Our dog was happy, well cared for, and clearly got lots of love and attention while we were away. We really appreciated the updates and photos, and it gave us so much peace of mind. We came home to a happy pup and a well-kept house. We’d definitely book with her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Macedonia on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Macedonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Macedonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Macedonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Macedonia. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
