“Charis dropped in to see our 5 cats each day over a 4 day weekend. She is so easy to work with and wonderfully detailed regarding her visits! We have her coming back next weekend, and I know the cats will be well taken care of. 😊”

“Since Stout’s diagnosis, we’ve never felt truly at ease leaving him or Skyy — until now. Having you in their lives (and ours) has changed everything. We’re so deeply grateful for your care, compassion, and the comfort you’ve brought to our family.”

“I can't recommend Taylor enough! She took incredible care of my 15-year-old cat, Ashes, who is currently in hospice care. Taylor was very easy to get in touch with, followed all my instructions perfectly, and was a joy to communicate with. She truly went above and beyond to make sure Ashes was well cared for. I received reports and pictures of Ashes after every visit. Her kindness and dedication gave me so much peace of mind during my trip. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter!”

About: Reliable, structured care is what sets me apart. I’m happy to follow your established routines and house rules to ensure consistency for your pet. I’m comfortable with puppies (crate routines and reinforcing good habits) as well as senior dogs who need a slower, more attentive pace. I regularly care for dogs during the weekday and am experienced managing routines, timing, and midday coverage. I prioritize dependable timing, clear communication, and making sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I’ve owned dogs for over 15 years and have been pet sitting since 1995. I understand how important it is to trust the person caring for your pet, and I take that responsibility seriously. Pet care is already part of my regular weekday routine, allowing me to provide consistent and reliable service. I structure my schedule to maintain dependable timing for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. I’m typically available for weekday midday and afternoon care, and I also offer boarding with a safe, structured environment and plenty of outdoor time for play, exercise, and fresh air. I don’t currently have dogs of my own, which allows me to provide a calm environment and give your pet my full attention. I keep my schedule organized to ensure each pet receives attentive, well-paced care and doesn’t feel rushed or overlooked. Safety and consistency are my top priorities in both my home and my client’s home. I follow each pet’s established routine closely, including feeding schedules, crate or free-roam preferences, and any specific care instructions. In my home, I provide a calm, structured environment with a large, fenced yard for safe, supervised outdoor time, exercise, and enrichment. Pets are never left unattended with unknown animals, and I prioritize a low-stress setting tailored to each dog’s temperament. In a client’s home, I’m respectful of your space and maintain your pet’s normal routine to keep them comfortable and secure. I’m attentive to behavior, energy levels, and any changes that might indicate stress or discomfort. I’m also comfortable administering basic medications if needed. I focus on clear communication, dependable care, and making sure both you and your pet feel confident and at ease.
“Shelby met with us before we hired her and was good with our dogs in person. She did mid-day breaks two days in a row while we were unable to be at home. She navigated two energetic youngsters and a senior pup. Will use again.”

“Brittney was just the right care giver for our shy kitties! The pictures she sent eased my over protective heart. When we got home, the water & food bowls were filled & litter boxes were clean & tidy. She even took in our early Amazon delivery. We will definitely call on her every time we go away!”

“Molly took great care of our boys. She left detailed notes and documented with lots of photos. It was nice to not worry about them while we were away. Molly went above and beyond for our fur babies and we are so grateful.”

“I adopted Rachel, a 14-year-old mini dachshund, last October. She’s deaf and mostly blind and she needed special TLC while I attended my nephew’s wedding on Saturday. I met Gina in person when she came for the first visit. She was a lovely person and I immediately felt very comfortable with leaving Rachel in Gina‘s care! Gina came for two separate visits. She made friends with her as soon as she came in the door. Rachel is a very gentle dog and because she has the handicaps I did not want to leave her alone all day. Gina also provided me with two lovely pictures of Rachel outside and eating her food. Rachel was fine when I came home and I’m so glad that Gina was able to take care of her for me. I was able to enjoy my nephew‘s beautiful wedding knowing that Rachel had Company and Care. I will definitely use Gina again and I I would recommend Gina to anyone who needs someone to give their pet real TLC!”

“Thank you again for taking care of my Canton cat colony! Penny, the three kittens (Nandor, Nadja, and Laszlo), Sonny, Sam, Fiona, Sheldon, Mr Gray, Ruby, and of course the backyard Raccon and possum crew all appreciate you! Excellent work! I'll see you for the next time I am away for vacation! Thanks again Nikki!”

I’m a dog person without a dog but I would love to help you and your four-legged friend(s) have a great, stress-free life. I work full-time but my job is hybrid so I do have some flexibility around lunchtime. Late afternoon, nights, and weekends are also fully available! With me, your dog won’t be in an open space without a leash, gates and doors will be closed, and potentially hazardous foods and materials will be out of reach. About: I have taken care of my own personal dogs throughout their lifespan from puppies to mature dogs. During the summer I am always available at home where I am able to give maximum attention to the pets. During college school season I am home on the weekends, Tuesdays, and Thursdays all day. Monday, Wednesday, Friday I will be gone from around 7 am to about 3 pm. I have a fenced in back yard of about half an acre that does have a pool. If your baby loves to swim they are more than welcome to. If water is an issue I can easily walk them on a leash. I have 2 golden doodles that are extremely friendly and crate trained. I have dog beds your fur baby can sleep on! My neighborhood is very small and safe so I can take them on plenty of walks.
About: I’ve had animals all my life! When I was 9 we had 3 cats, 4 dogs, a parrot and an aviary of small birds. Over the years I’ve taken care of all sorts of breeds from Chihuahuas to Labradors. Currently I have a semi-reactive pitbull rescue so I’m very sensitive to any special interaction needs. I work from home so my schedule is incredibly flexible. I can pop in pretty much anytime for walks or visits, and overnight care on weeknights is no problem. I can be in your home with your furry one as much or as little as you’d like. Whether they’re couch potatoes or avid walkers, I’m there to keep them occupied, loved and fed (occasionally with some homemade treats).

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Macedonia
Veronica did an amazing job taking care of our 2 cats while we were on vacation! One cat needs 2 injections daily due to her diabetes (who was very difficult to find due to her hiding!) and was able to provide the necessary dosages! I appreciated her patience and caring attitude towards our cats!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
