About: My father raised and trained dogs so I have been caring for dogs since childhood. I have been personally caring for my own dogs as well as dogs of family and friends for the past seven years. I am medically trained for emergencies and can care for special needs and sick dogs. I will treat your pet with the love and kindness as I do my own. I can be available day and night, weekends and holidays even on short notice. I am hoping to make this a full-time position and will be available seven days a week 24 hours a day and can provide same-day service. I will follow all rules of the home in which I am sitting. I will never leave pets unattended. They will have my full attention and safety is my number one priority.
“Lynda is very personable and knowledgeable about dogs and their behavior, and brings a real sensitivity to each dog she works with. My sometimes nervous dog Clover was immediately comfortable with her. I’m grateful to have someone so skilled and thoughtful care for my dog when I can’t be there!”

“Desirae was so accommodating and helpful! This is my first puppy and this was my first time leaving him with someone... She exceeded my expectation and gave me a piece of mind while I was at work. I will be booking her weekly”

About: I've had dogs most of my adult life. I had 6 at one time and now have 2 Chihuahuas who I adore. I love all pets and want to be your pups best friend. I am retired so I have a lot of free time. I can walk or visit your pups regularly. My schedule is very flexible. I can help out at any time. I have a fenced yard and it is secure. My pups can't get out and they get along with all dogs. My pups are treated like the king and queen they are.

“Jamie was perfect. Minnie took to her almost immediately. She kept me well informed and even helped with a package that was delivered while I was out of town. I’ll absolutely book with Jamie again if i find myself out of town for a long period.”

“Mindy is always great with Scout! I appreciate how communicative she is when she enters the home. She sends lots of pictures of Scout playing, being a goofball, and overall enjoying her company! I tell Scout “Aunty Mindy” is coming over and he quickly runs to the door to look for her.”

“Danielle watched our dog Finley while we were away on spring break. We both felt immediately comfortable with her on our first visit. He was very well cared for. I highly recommend her and will be using her again!”

I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and genuinely love spending time with animals. Whether it’s a quick potty break or a longer energy-burning walk, I show up on time and ready to go. Your home will always be respected as if it were my own — clean, secure, and exactly how you left it. I’m mindful of doors, gates, alarms, and routines, and I double-check everything before leaving to ensure your home and pet are safe. Whether your pup needs calm reassurance, structured guidance, or playful engagement, I adjust to what makes them happiest.
“Deanna is wonderful. I was nervous to leave my two cats, but as soon as I met Deanna my worry was gone. She's clearly done this before and cares about our animals. We received pictures and videos everyday and the cats seemed quite happy when we got back. Deanna took really good care of my babies and I am grateful for that. Also our apartment has a very difficult door/entrance and she was very patient and willing to figure it out. Deanna rules.”

“Michelle got our older dog to quickly warm up to her and gave our 3 month old puppy extra play time. She left the house and crates in much better shape than we expected with a puppy still being crate trained. Would definitely recommend and use again!”

About: After a tragically pet-free childhood, I've spent the last 20 years seeking out any opportunity to care for animals—from free dog walking for friends and cat-sitting for vacationing pals to hiking with hounds and being a designated vet chauffeur. I love exploring the outdoors with a dog, chucking sticks across empty fields, and praising them for every "good stretch"! I do everything I can to make pet parents feel comfortable and assured when they leave their furry friends in my care—including plenty of photos and updates! I work from home as a writer/editor and a live-edge woodworker, so my schedule is entirely flexible and under my control. I have a fenced-in backyard with ample shade where I often write and work, so outside time is always available for the animals I care for. I love walking the city and wandering through green spaces, especially Audubon Park and City Park, and having a puppy pal to accompany me makes it even more enjoyable. My interior home space is approximately 1,800 square feet, with multiple couches and rooms and sunspots for dogs and/or cats to relax and lounge. The fenced-in backyard is well-secured with a 6-foot fence for stress-free bathroom breaks, and my active lifestyle takes me on at least 2 longer walks each day, typically in the morning and evening. At a client's home, I pride myself on being highly adaptable to new routines and expectations, and my career as an editor makes me very attentive to details, e.g., medication needs, feeding times, sleep schedules, walk durations, etc. Whether you need someone to pop in and play with your pooch for an hour, or leave your animal at my home for a longer trip, you can rest assured they will be cared for, loved and pampered in a safe and comfortable environment.
Lower 9th Ward pet parents share their Rover experiences
Gerome's natural ability to commune with animals was present during both drop off and pick up of my cat. I returned to find my selective/discerning sweet pea snuggled up with her pet sitter in a relaxed and trusting pose. She did not want to come back with me! I will choose Gerome in the future to care for my love. Gerome was highly communicative during my time away from my cat. She sent me many photo updates, which allowed me to feel at ease during our separation.
