About: I have had dogs in my life since i was 11 years old (27 years). Last october i had to say goodbye to my companion of 11 years, Wanda. I am not ready for another dog of my own and want to be around your dogs as much as possible. I believe in reciprocal relational dynamics between humans and dogs are the best approach to training and trust, not dominance and control. I would like to care for your dog by building a relationship with them based on their personality and needs. Would love to meet you and your dog! I am currently a self-employed carpenter and bee keeper. My schedule is very flexible and i can work with you and your dogs schedule and needs. I live in a household with 3 other dogs who are my roommates', so I cannot board at my home, but am more than happy and available for caring for them at yours. I am good with all size and age of dogs.

About: Although I’ve been sitting via Rover since November 2023, I have been house & pet-sitting for friends for many years. I have experience with very large dogs (i.e. 80+ lb German Shepherds) who are ‘dog-reactive’; walking same-residence dogs in pairs who have a large age difference; walking same-residence dogs separately due to large age difference; and multiple cats with a mix of indoor & outdoor plus indoor/outdoor hybrid. Since joining Rover, I have added quite a lot of experience with senior dogs including some who are sight and hearing impaired, as well as varying degrees of doggy dementia. Walking with dogs is genuinely one of my favorite things to do- I keep my phone pocketed during dog walks, both for safety and to simply enjoy the walk. I’m a generous belly rubber & scratcher, am content to play catch on a near infinite loop, and am a happy recipient of licks from the pooches and biscuit-making from the kitties. I work from home booking live music entertainment for events. The vast majority of my work is laptop and phone based, with occasional in-person meetings and events to drop by. When I am on a pet stay I don't go out at night socially, and I cook at home or order in. I get out most days to exercise and every couple days to grocery shop. I have a hierarchy of my approach and goals when staying with pets. First, the foundation is safety & well being. This is safe walking, a safe home, eating & sleeping normally, medications, etc. Second is comfort and routine- my goal is for your pet to not be anxious because you are away. I look for signs of anxiety and do my best to allay fears & stress. Third is a love connection- when I depart from a pet stay, I want to miss your pets in the kind of way that you do when you have to leave home. And finally, given everything else goes according to plan, the lagniappe of a great stay is that your pet experienced a ‘staycation’ - that they come to understand that my very existence is for them specifically, and maybe they get even more doted upon than they normally do, what with busy schedules and lives and such. The best sign of a great stay with your pet(s) is that when you return, while they are obviously happy to see you, they are pretty relaxed about it.

“Faith was great with our Gina. She even made sure to ask questions about care for Gina, to make sure that she would have everything she needed. It was a last-minute booking, and faith made us feel comfortable, leaving our fur baby in her care.”

“I booked Ms. Sarah on short notice. I’m so happy I did. She was amazing with both of my pups. If you’re undecided, she’s by far the best dog sitter.”

“Mindy took care of our Fur babies which are 3 great kids at heart but wonderful to be with. She kept us informed and when asked , sent us pics to make us feel less guilty about leaving them home. We would recommend her to anyone.”

“Lindsay was such a great sitter! Our pup Jackie is very high energy and she made sure to tire her out in the back yard and make sure she plays with her toys. She left very detailed notes for us and made us feel like Jackie was in her good hands. We will definitely use Lindsay again!”

About: I have an incredible love for animals. I even learn their temperament to better understand them. I'm the type of person to get down on all fours to connect and play with your pet. I'm sure we'll have a strong bond before the visit is over. I love taking them for walks because I love to exercise and they love it too! I work from home so I have a bunch of spare time and love to give. My attention will be on your pet 90% of the time if they're with me, even if I have multiple pets. I can even teach your dog some new tricks. You ever heard that saying "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" well that's not true when it comes to me. I create such a bond through trust that we basically start speaking the same language. Hope to meet you and your lovely pretty soon! I’m currently working from home, so I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to be present and attentive to your dog throughout the day. Whether it’s overnight boarding or daycare, your dog will receive plenty of outdoor time, interaction, and care. I take them outside for exercise every 2-3 hours, and in between, they can relax in their crates provided by you. I’m also available for drop-ins and dog walks, making sure your pets at home are well taken care of, fed, and exercised. No matter the time of day, I’m here for your pets! When your dog stays with me, safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a large yard where they can play and get plenty of exercise under my close supervision. For overnight stays, the dogs will stay in the crates you provide, which I make sure are covered with blankets and kept warm with space heaters when needed to ensure they’re comfortable no matter the weather. I also keep a close eye on dogs that may not socialize well with others to make sure everyone feels safe and happy. At your home, I make sure your pets are well-fed, exercised, and comfortable, providing the same level of care and attention as I would with my own.

“Thank you so much for taking such sweet care of our kitties!”

About: I have taken care of dog cats and animals ever since I can remember. As a child, a teenager and college student, I had a monopoly on taking care of my Neighbor’s pets. I have experience with puppies, kittens, senior dogs, multiple animals and even birds. I prioritize Service and Care and don’t like to keep you guessing. I value communication while you are away from your pets. I currently do freelance contract work, sometimes from home, and sometimes from other locations around New Orleans. I have a flexible schedule with periods of time to easily step away and spend time with your dog or cat! I have three cats and a sizeable fenced in yard. Your pet’s health, safety and comfort is the highest priority to me. I can’t wait to meet them!

About: I love spending time with animals and always make them a top priority! I’ve been house/pet sitting for family members and neighbors since I was 16, and I have also taken care of many friend’s pets when they have gone out of town. You can be confident that your pet with get lots of attention with me! I work remotely and have lots of time and flexibility to feed, play, and walk pets even throughout the work day. I always make them a priority! I will make sure to follow all instructions given for keeping your home and pet safe and secure, as safety is a priory of mine!

About: Growing up, my favorite place in the entire world was my grandparents' farm, where they trained Hungarian hunting dogs to compete in gun dog competitions and kennel club shows. (They've even had a pup win the Sporting Group title at the Westminster Dog Show!) There was absolutely nothing better as a kid than running free in the paddock with 10 dogs zooming all around, living out their puppiest dreams. Plus, watching their dogs bring home blue ribbons and trophies, I grew a deep appreciation for how intelligent and hard-working our canine companions can be, and how important it is to listen to and observe what they are telling us through body language, verbal cues, and other dog behavior that helps us understand each other. Although our dogs at home were never quite as well-trained as my grandparents' dogs, we always had two of our own to love and play with after their professional careers were over. Today I am a proud dog mom to a Husky, Catahoula, Pitty mutt! I would love to spend a long weekend with your pup, giving us plenty of time for adventures. We will play fetch or tug, go for long walks, and do lots of snuggling! My most highly valued priorities are safety, transparency, and strong communication! While staying hydrated and fed are the bare minimum, I also want every pet to get to play every day!

About: Growing up, I had two huge retired racing greyhounds, so high prey drives and tug of war are no problem for me. In recent years, I’ve discovered a love for cats and all of their unique personalities. No matter the animal, I can give them the care they need! I work from home for myself. My open schedule means I can dedicate my full attention to the animal in my care as they need it. I provide a safe, comfortable environment whether in your home or mine. I stick to your pet’s routine, offering daily walks, playtime, and plenty of affection.
