About: Aside from growing up with two dogs throughout their puppy and elderly stages of life, I have lots of experience with animals that are not my own. I have a passion for caring for animals of all kinds—to the point where I consider the squirrels that come to my college dorm window my friends! I love helping out the pet owners in my community and often volunteer to watch dogs for free, just because I enjoy it. I have lots of experience with dogs that have special needs (i.e. injuries or medicine), and I take the responsibility of pet care seriously. I approach all animals with the same love and care as if they were my own, and i understand uniquely how worried we can get about our pets when we’re away. Part of my petsitting M.O. is frequent updates (especially photos) to give owners peace of mind. I have a special place in my heart for dogs, but am a lover of all animals and have experience with cats and bunnies as well. I look forward to meeting you and your furry friends! I am a college junior currently at home for summer break. I will be taking two vacations in the next few months, but other than that my schedule allows for extremely open and flexible hours! I approach all pets with gentleness and respect, and i make sure to provide ample time for them to get used to my presence before interactions. I follow instructions thoroughly, so detail there is always appreciated, and I like to be in consistent contact with owners in case there are questions, concerns, or updates. I understand strangers can be nerve wracking for pets and their parents, so I do my very best to earn trust and be patient!

Sarah was great! We have a 4 month old pup that needs attention and care and Sarah was nothing short of amazing with him. She kept us updated and sent pictures throughout the day. Oscar took and instant liking to her. I have no reservations with leaving Oscar with Sarah and will most certainly be working with her again!

About: I’ve had dogs and cats for the last 10 years, and my friends and neighbors have trusted me to walk and feed their pets too! I love cats and dogs of all kinds! I work Wednesday-Monday during the day so I can walk, feed, or play with pets in the afternoons and evenings or I can house sit overnight. I am used to high-energy dogs and cats that need someone to play with and get their energy out, or to take them for a long walk.

Rose was amazing! She went above and beyond our expectations! Thankfully, she was available (fairly) short notice and worked with us every step of the way! She sent us pictures of Bolo everyday (to reassure my girlfriend) and kept bolo (who can have really bad separation anxiety) from freaking out. She also finished drying/folding our laundry for us! We really appreciate everything she did, and would 100000000% re-hire her/recommend her for whoever is looking for a dogsitter, walker or anything in between.

About: All I wanted was a dog growing up. I used to knock on neighbors doors and ask to walk/play with their dogs for free! My parents finally decided to get dogs (of course right when I leave for college) and I love them with all of my heart. Since I am at New Paltz for school, I miss my pets like crazy. I would love to get the opportunity to play with your pets and get to have puppy time away from home. I used to take my dogs on hikes and I miss it very much; I would love to take your dogs on pretty walks. I also have been a nanny and babysit often. I am very capable of taking care of someone. Since I am out of school, I am very free. I have a part-time job where I get to pick my hours, so I am very available. As a broke college student, I am very open to whatever you need. I also value nature and the outdoors very much, so adding a pup to the mix will be a bonus! As a loving pet owner, I very much understand the love and attention that is needed with caring for a pet. I am thoughtful and value rules, I take pet routines seriously. I understand that providing this service requires a lot of trust that I am willing to take time to prove.

This was our first time using Rover and we were definitely a bit nervous about it. It is difficult in this day and age to trust someone to stay in your home and care for your pets. We were away for a two week vacation and were in need of someone to watch our dogs during the week and stay overnight in our home. Lori came through for us in doing just that. We met her first for a meet and greet. After several messages back and forth, she reassured me that our dogs would be well cared for and they were. She is a true animal lover. Our dogs were safe in their home thanks to Lori and did not have to be stressed out in a kennel that was unfamiliar to them. I would highly recommend Lori for taking care of your pets.

We couldn’t be more thrilled with the care our dog Tazo received from Amruta. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that she had an amazing connection with Tazo. She was so attentive, playful, and loving towards him, making sure he feeling loved. We loved getting regular updates and pictures of Tazo, which gave us peace of mind throughout the day alleviating our own anxiety. One of the best moments was when we saw Tazo follow her out to her car, clearly wanting to go with her! It’s not every day that your dog forms such a strong bond with their sitter, and we’re so grateful for the time and care she gave him. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving for their pets!

The first of two great stays! Our pets loved her and she took wonderful care and spent hours each day with them keeping them calm and I know they loved her the minute she came by to meet them. Ours are socially anxious with new people, but they immediately loved her. She kept our home clean and tidy and we felt very safe and confident.

Lexi watched my three pets, including an older special needs cat. Her communication was wonderful - great question, photos and updates, and just a cheerful confidence that helped me feel very comfortable leaving them in her care. They and the house were in great shape when I returned and I could tell the cats and dog were well cared for. Thank you so much!

Melanie was a true gift to us. She took great care of Kolya and Emma, dedicated to their well being from second 1 through the end. I was updated regularly and enjoyed their interactions from afar. I came home to two very content and happy camper cats. I could tell how fond they were of Melanie and how well she tuned into their distint personalities. She communicated very well and left our apartment in excellent state. Highly recommend. Thank you.

About: Animals have and always will be an integral part of my human nature. To make sure animals are provided with exercise, love and compassion are ways I express my values as an animal advocate. Keeping routine is my forte. I have most experience with dogs, all breeds and sizes! Walking is how I keep routine and promote a sense of well being for both my own animals and others 😌 Currently seeking full time pet care. Exercise takes time and I enjoy the physical aspect of a healthy lifestyle. Keeping a balance of short and or long walks. Depending on the breed I could make exercise minimal or lengthy. Currently I have a 15ft by 5ft outdoor kennel. Yard is well maintained with space and away from any roads. Private residence. I keep my small dog on a lead. Lead is also an option for other animals. My yard has plenty of space for playtime and fetching.

About: I really love being around animals as they bring a lot of joy. Over the years I have pet sat for various family friends, co-workers, colleagues, and friends of friends pets. While pet sitting not only have I been responsible to feed the pets, give them water, let them out to relieve themselves, clean up after the pets, and take them out for a walk but I also have looked after the house. Additionally, I have been working for a company so couples beloved dogs can attend their weddings. Previously, I have volunteered by fostering dogs and dog walking. I am available most weekends and off most holidays. I do work full time so if it is anything during the week I do not get home until after 5 pm. Anything during the week I need to know ahead of time so I can plan accordingly. I would care for your pets as one of my own. I am flexible and come to your pets home so they are comfortable in their own environment.

Here comes a very grateful bouquet of big compliments: Catherine looked after my cats Emma and Kolya for a little more than a week and I could have not have such a great time away if it wasn’t for her attentive care, regular wellness updates and sweet photos. Emma had a little bit of a red watery eye, which Catherine would watch and treat carefully. I did not have to worry at all and would return to happy purring cats and a well respected home environment. I can recommend Catherine highly, also for her way of clear communication.

Aliza came to our hotel for two consecutive evenings to look after our Delilah and was absolutely wonderful with her. They instantly bonded and Delilah felt calm, secure, and cared for. They took walks together and Aliza sent us updates and photos. We were grateful for Aliza’s visits and look forward to working with her again. Aliza is a warm and delightful person. Highly recommend.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lloyd

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Lloyd on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of June 2026, there are 694 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lloyd. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lloyd walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lloyd maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lloyd choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lloyd. On Rover:

  • 98% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
