“Patty was great to work with and always prompt with responses. I appreciate the updates and pictures. I let her know I have a nervous dog and she was open to a meet and greet and asked what would help my dog to be comfortable while he was with her. Will use her again. Thanks Patty!!”

“Cliff did absolutely amazing with my dog while my husband and I were on a long vacation. I haven't boarded her anywhere in the past, she has always stayed at home and we had a dog sitter come in. Cliff was so attentive to our dog, gave her lots of attention and sent us pictures and videos. I would highly recommend him to look after your dog. He is always very responsive and my dog absolutely loved hanging out with Cliff and his dog and any other clients he had while we traveled. Excellent dog sitter!!”

“Sherilynn was great. We did a meet and greet and then set up the visit time for drop off and pick up. She kept me informed on Kira’s visit and how everything was going. Will definitely use her again.”
“She was great with my 2 kids. They seemed so happy there. She was personable and when we had our meet and greet my dogs loved the yard and played. She sent pictures and my dogs looked so relaxed and comfortable. I will be using Laura again when I need a place to take my dogs for a night or 2. Mordechai and Sophie had a great time.”

“Emmy took wonderful care of our dog! She was attentive and made sure our energetic girl got plenty of exercise and stimulation. We received regular updates and photos, and it was apparent in the pictures that our dog felt right at home. We definitely recommend Emmy!”

“Elizabeth was awesome. Sage had such a great time with her. In the past she has not eaten while we were away, but she ate while staying with Elizabeth and her pups. She was great about staying in communication and sending sweet photos. I will be using her again. Couldn’t be more pleased.”

“Kelly took great care of Cooper while we were out of town for a week! I loved knowing that she’s a dog trainer. He got along great with her dogs and had a place nearby to run. She was also super responsive. Will definitely use her again.”
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong pet owner and true dog lover with years of hands-on experience caring for my own pets. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. From energetic walks and playtime to calm cuddles and gentle care, I have lots of love, patience, and attention to give. Your dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness always come first—and I can’t wait to meet your pup! 🐶💛 I'm currently working part-time Monday-Friday. I'm available every afternoon and weekends. If your fur baby can be in a kennel, or fenced in area inside the home for 1/2 day, then I would be available any day of the week. your home or mine, I can insure safety and love of your fur baby. My dogs have full roam of my home, I have indoor fencing if/when needed, take them on lots of walks and they have lots of toys available. Though I don't have any formal training, I love to teach them new tricks. I can provide the same kind of care I would want for my dogs.
“Our fur baby had a wonderful time while we were gone. He clearly got his exercise with Duke because he slept hard when we brought him home. Flyer was well cared for and very happy.”

“Rachael was amazing. She responded back quickly and got a meet & greet done with. She listened to instructions and seems passionate about canine care! Definitely recommend and will continue to hire her!”

“Our dog thoroughly enjoyed his stay with Craig! Our dog cannot wait for another play date and it was great for us knowing he was in such great hands. Would highly recommend!”

“Tamara and her family were great with Otis - he seemed to really enjoy his time there. Tamara was also flexible, agreeing to watch Otis an extra day. We will not hesitate to book Tamara again.”

“Ginny went above and beyond to take care of our dog Emma. She kept us updated and made sure Emma was well-loved. Emma stayed for a full week and came home calm and happy. We can’t thank Ginny enough and will be using her again!”

“What a wonderful experience for our pet, Ted, and honestly for our family. Such a welcoming home, enthusiastic care giver, great communicator, I could go on... I don't want to brag on Jill too much or she will never be available! All kidding aside one of the best Rover's I have used. You will not be disappointed.”

“Stefanie and her fur babies took great care of Wilbur while making him feel comfy and loved. He was calm and happy after the experience, as was I. I trust that Wilbur is in good hands with her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
