About: I grew up with dogs and now have 2 cats and 1 dog of my own. Our cats are both American Shorthair and our dog is a golden retriever! I’m currently a stay at home mom and we love watching some furry friends during our days! We can let them out multiple times, go on walks, and play. Our big fenced in backyard makes for a fun time! I have two very friendly cats who warm up quickly to other animals or hide until they feel comfortable! We also have a golden retriever who loves other animals and loves to play! I live in house with a fenced in backyard!
“I can't recommend Patricia enough. She did an outstanding job and gave us updates every day while we were on our vacation. It was reassuring seeing our little guy taken care of so well. He had a warm bed, house and friends all around him the whole time. We often wondered if he'd even want to come back home 😊 We will definitely use Pat to take care of our little guy on our next family vacation.”

“Rachael was amazing. She responded back quickly and got a meet & greet done with. She listened to instructions and seems passionate about canine care! Definitely recommend and will continue to hire her!”

“Craig was a wonderful sitter for our energetic dog, Winston! He communicated well and was very nice He paid attentiont the details of Winston's care instructions and met all his needs. Winston was calm and happy, and Craig kept us updated over the stay. We would definitely recommend Craig and use him again!”

“Amanda spoiled our dog all weekend! Played catch and cuddled and let him take a nap in her lap (he's almost 100 lbs so that was above and beyond the call of duty)! Another plus is there were 4-5 large dogs for Osborne to play with in Amanda's fenced in backyard so he came home happily exhausted. Amanda was extremely flexible in drop off/pick up times which was greatly appreciated as we were heading out of town for the weekend. She also carefully monitored his food so he only ate his food and didn't sneak other dog food and get an upset stomach. Highly recommend Amanda!”

“She was great with my 2 kids. They seemed so happy there. She was personable and when we had our meet and greet my dogs loved the yard and played. She sent pictures and my dogs looked so relaxed and comfortable. I will be using Laura again when I need a place to take my dogs for a night or 2. Mordechai and Sophie had a great time.”

“Stefanie kept in contact with us by sending pictures and updates. We will definitely be using her in the future for all of our fur baby needs. We could just tell when we picked Whiskey up that he was happy and well cared for.”

“When you choose Rover, please book with Elizabeth! She was nothing but amazing with our dog. Our Corgi was in her care for 5 days and 4 nights. Not once did I feel anxious about being away from him because she made us feel like family since the very beginning. I’ve read the reviews and have experienced first hand how much love she has for her clients. Your dog can expect a wonderful fenced in backyard, clean kennels, scheduled meal times, and lots of loves and playtime. I couldn’t be happier! We will definitely be booking with Elizabeth again!”

“Alysha was an incredible sitter. Her dogs and Sage played well together and she sent photos and messages daily. She was easy to communicate with and switched drop off times when my schedule changed. Her home was clean and her kids were kind and understanding when Sage stole a Mac n cheese off the counter in true Sage fashion. Will definitely use again.”

“Dropped Sydney off and safe to say she felt comfortable as she trotted downstairs on her own and disappeared around the corner. Safe home and they took care of my dog. Sent updates and pics throughout her stay. I felt comfortable leaving her there and never worried about her being in their hands. Not to mention hey have a big super sweet mastiff mix of their own. I would refer their services to anyone I know. I’m sure I’ll look to use their services again n the future.”

“Brett was great with our dog, Allie!! He sent updates, pictures, and videos! He responded very quickly and was flexible with our pick up and drop off time! Will definitely be reaching out to him again!”

“Ginny was a life saver. I needed someone to watch my dog on short notice. Ginny was responsive and super easy to make a plan with. My dog had a great time, I could tell from the photo updates during his stay and when I picked him up he was happy as could be. I know he got a ton of energy out with Ginny and her pups which is just what he needed. Thank you, Ginny!”

“Ollie had a such a wonderful time with Ben and was very well taken care of. He got to enjoy lots of outdoor and indoor play with his friends and still came home smelling wonderful! Ben was conscientious of his feeding schedule and sent lots of pictures every day. We will definitely rebook!!”

About: I love animals and have been taking care of family and neighbor pets since I was young. I previously worked at a veterinary clinic and have experience taking care of dogs of all size and ages! We have an active 6 year old golden retriever, and a 9 year old cat who we love very much! I am a 1st grade teacher, and love to spend my summers taking care of pets. We like to take walks on the trails around our neighborhood, and play in the backyard.
“Ashley and her family took such great care of my Ruby. I appreciated the updates and photos so much while I was missing my fur baby. Her kiddos definitely gave her lots of love and belly rubs. She got her medicine twice a day as instructed. Would definitely use Ashley again to watch my Ruby.”

The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
