“Craig and his wife were great! They took Ollie to the dog park and he loved it! They answered whenever I texted. Very kind and worked with us last minute over Christmas break! Couldn’t be more thankful! Will definitely book with them again!”

“Patricia and family were amazing!! It was our first Rover stay, but we weren't worried at all after meeting Patricia. We felt relief knowing he would be safe and treated like one of her own. Rogue can't wait to stay again!”

“We’ve used Scott multiple times to care for our dog while we travel. He’s professional, a great communicator and most importantly our dog loves going to stay with him. We won’t hesitate to book again for future stays.”

“Emmy took wonderful care of our dog! She was attentive and made sure our energetic girl got plenty of exercise and stimulation. We received regular updates and photos, and it was apparent in the pictures that our dog felt right at home. We definitely recommend Emmy!”

“Elizabeth is awesome! She provides regular updates, and photos and videos of how much fun our pup was having. We have never seen her so tired after other play dates. Thank you so much for taking care of our pup!”

“Pam is awesome! She loves dogs and is so caring and personable. She took great care of our puppy, as we traveled for the first time after getting her. She was super communicative and goes out of her way to make sure all is perfect for the stay of our furry family member (including toys/playtime, walks and photos). I highly recommend Pam to anyone needing a dog sitter.”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful and we will definitely board our dog here again if she has availability. Her communication was great and the set up that she has for boarding dogs in her home felt very comfortable to us. She kept us updated with photos of our puppy having fun, which made things extra comfortable. We highly recommend Samantha!”

“Kelly was fantastic! She provided frequent updates and photos, responded quickly to messages, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. Knowing my dog was receiving such great care allowed me to fully enjoy my vacation without worrying. I will absolutely book with her again. I highly recommend Kelly to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and communicative pet sitter.”

“Zack and his family took excellent care of my two fur babies while I was out of town. They problem solved a couple of issues and communicated with me the entire time. Would definitely trust them to sit with my fur babies again in the future.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was extremely happy with the care that Kelly gave my dog. She had him for 15 days and each day I received a note and picture of him with a daily update. She seems to care that he was comfortable in her home and with her dogs. He got spoiled with fresh steamed veggies added to his usual food at nighttime. He loved it! I would definitely recommend Kelly if you are looking for a nice, calm, loving home environment for your pet.”

“Jill did fantastic with our two dogs Remi and Cooper. We had a last minute request and she was willing to work with us. Highly recommend! Our dogs were more than content and Jill treated them like her own. Couldn’t be more thankful!”

“Priscila was a terrific sitter for Ziggy. She took him on several walks each day and they visited the nearby dog park. Ziggy even was able to play with a fellow chihuahua there! I wouldn’t hesitate to have Priscila watch Ziggy again in the near future.”

“Ashley and her family took such great care of my Ruby. I appreciated the updates and photos so much while I was missing my fur baby. Her kiddos definitely gave her lots of love and belly rubs. She got her medicine twice a day as instructed. Would definitely use Ashley again to watch my Ruby.”

About: I've had dogs since I was a child. I've had two huskies, an old english bulldog, a border collie, and a pomeranian. My current husky uses a weighted vest to wear him down. And I even attach him to a bike for his runs I work for old time but I have reduced hours in the winter and can easily watch other dogs January through March. I'm already taking my husky on daily walks or attaching him to my bicycle for run even in the winter. There are two of us in my home, and one of us is typically home by two PM. I have a privacy fence for my backyard on two out of three sides. Pictured is the low spots I have in case your dog is a jumper. I've watched relatives dogs for up to two weeks at a time in the past.
“Brett was great. Replied very quickly to messages. His dog was very friendly with my dog so nothing to worry about. Will definitely be bringing Lilly back in the future. Location couldn’t have been better either, very close to my home.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
