“Our dog loves Cliff and Milo. She is always so excited when we arrive at their home. That sure makes it easier to leave her, and we love the photos and videos Cliff sends us of her.”

About: I grew up with dogs and now have 2 cats and 1 dog of my own. Our cats are both American Shorthair and our dog is a golden retriever! I’m currently a stay at home mom and we love watching some furry friends during our days! We can let them out multiple times, go on walks, and play. Our big fenced in backyard makes for a fun time! I have two very friendly cats who warm up quickly to other animals or hide until they feel comfortable! We also have a golden retriever who loves other animals and loves to play! I live in house with a fenced in backyard!
“We are so thankful and can’t say enough good things about Patty and her family, Ogie is a very shy dog and nervous and she did an amazing job welcoming him to her family, her dogs are pure love as well, she sent pictures and videos every day and kept us updated, we enjoyed the whole process and we will contact her again in the future, thank you so much! We feel very blessed!”

“This was our first Rover experience, and Ben made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire stay. He sent pictures and videos daily, took Murphy on walks and to the dog park, and cared for Murphy’s hotspot by putting cream on each day. It looked like Murphy had the best time!”

“Rachael was amazing. She responded back quickly and got a meet & greet done with. She listened to instructions and seems passionate about canine care! Definitely recommend and will continue to hire her!”

“Craig and Sally were such a blessing to our family while we were gone. Mollie is a young and energetic pup and they were able to keep her active which means she stayed out of trouble!! I think Mollie came home better trained than she was when we dropped her off! This was our first time using Rover and we are telling everyone about how great it went. We appreciated the update on how well Mollie was doing and it made our vacation that much better! What a great experience and we can’t wait to book a stay with them again.”

“Stefanie kept in contact with us by sending pictures and updates. We will definitely be using her in the future for all of our fur baby needs. We could just tell when we picked Whiskey up that he was happy and well cared for.”

“Absolutely recommend. She kept us updated on our babies and was always quick to answer when I checked on them. She sent pics of the girls at dogpark and took many pics during the girls visit. She was absolutely amazing!”

“Elizabeth is wonderful. This was Mable’s first overnight away from family since we adopted her and I was a nervous dog mama but Elizabeth eased my nerves by sending me updates with pics and videos of Mable during her stay. She had a great time playing with new friends and was a tired, happy pup when she came home! We will definitely be using her again!”

“I dropped off a happy dog, and picked up an even happier one!! She gave my 80lb lab all the love he needed as if he was her own. Was super nervous about leaving my son with a stranger, but overall a great experience and would 100% do that again.”

“Our 2 dogs had a great time during their 1-week stay with Alysha and her family! She was consistently quick to respond and sent pictures daily, which we really appreciated! Our dogs enjoyed the mini pool in her backyard and many treats. We have no complaints from their stay with her! Would re-book if needed in the future!”

“Amy and Casey were great with our two girls. They came home excited to see us but definitely were in great hands with them. They enjoyed their walks and time with Amy, Casey and family.”

“Brett was great with our dog, Allie!! He sent updates, pictures, and videos! He responded very quickly and was flexible with our pick up and drop off time! Will definitely be reaching out to him again!”

“Jill and her family took such good care of our dog, Nala, while we were away on a trip. When we did a meet and greet a couple weeks prior, we knew right away that they would be a great fit for Nala. Jill kept us updated and sent photos the whole time which we loved! We will definitely book with Jill again if we are ever in need of boarding or daycare services!”

“Ginny did a great job of taking care of Levi over the course of 4 nights and days. She provided pictures and updates of Levi throughout his stay at her home. Ginny made sure that Levi's needs were met. Ginny is very loving towards pets and I would highly recommend her services to anyone.”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
