“Carol stayed in my apartment and looked after my heeler Louie over several days. She was a great communicator, which was super helpful as my return flight was considerably delayed. Louie seemed quite content in my absence. The apartment was also just as I had left it! I highly recommend her.”

“Tiffany did a great job taking care of our pets and small hobby farm. She communicated regularly before, during, and after our trip. Tiffany was also flexible when unexpected things came up. I will definitely be booking with her again!”
“Samantha was wonderful at caring for our senior pet who needed special attention. She was responsive and attentive. Kept us informed the entire time we were away. Absolutely recommend.”

About: I've been surrounded and caring for animals big and small since I was 6. I hold a degree in Western Equestrian Sciences; have taken multiple courses in prevet sciences; and am currently a pet mom to one high maintenance pooch and 3 crazy cats. I'm experienced with babies and senior care. Rest assured your fur babies are in good hands with me. I currently work at an elementary school during the school year but have the summers off. During the months of June-September I can be readily available. During the school year, I work from 7:30 to 4pm but have lunch breaks that I can use to care for your furry friend. Weekends are typically wide open. I follow my client's wishes for pet care while offering a fun, stimulating visit for younger pers and a relaxing care time for older.
“Traci is so amazing! Our pets loved her so much. She is very attentive and detailed which i really appreciate. She stayed with our pets for 7 days and everything went very smooth. She is very kind and easy to work with. Highly recommend.”

About: Hi, welcome! My name is Grace and I would be honored to care for your beloved pet while you are away! I’ve had plenty of experience with dogs, cats, and bunnies. Most notably, I’ve been a consistent caretaker for two energetic black labs for the past 8 years. I’ve also cared for fish, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon. If you think I’d be a good fit for your furry (or scaly!) family please reach out! I do not currently have any commitments! I’m new to the area and excited to meet some fur friends here. My new job will start September 14, 2026, but until then I’m wide open! Once I start my position, I’ll be working 8 hour days in Urbandale (if you’re close to that area I am more than willing to spend my lunch breaks with your pet). Once I’m back from work for the day I am ready to play! Coming home to an animal friend is one of the best feelings, and I want to give your pet all the love possible! I feel very comfortable being away from home. I love getting to help families keep their animal loved ones in a place they are familiar with. Whether you have a fenced in yard or no yard at all, I always get play time in every day. I love watching pets’ personalities blossom in their own space.
“Yasmin was amazing with my dog Susie! I had total peace of mind knowing she was being taken care of. Great communication and so kind! I’ll definitely use her again 😊”

“I can’t say enough about Allison. She is personable, timely, responsible, a great communicator, clean and dependable. Allison took great care of our 2 small dogs, took care of our plants and our house was in tip top condition when we came home. She went above and beyond. Highly recommend her!”

“Thank you for taking such great care of our furry family members while we were away. And thank you again for extending the stay last minute. We really appreciate your care and professionalism.”

About: I have been a vet tech for 4 years and have had animals all my life, dogs, cats, horses, and pocket pets. Love them all. I work full time, but have longer lunch breaks so can usually make mid day, can have busy weekends but make time work as needed. I have a dog and two cats myself. I love to focus on play and cuddle equally. If a pet ever needs to come to me, I have a separate guest room just for them!
“Adrianne took wonderful care of Oliver. She kept us updated and sent pictures throughout the weekend. Oliver has a happy pup when we returned, we will definitely be booking her again!”

About: I have spent much of my life taking care of different animals. I grew up on a farm handling chores for animals of all kinds from horses to dogs and cats. I currently have a 3 year old Maine Coon cat named Boston! I currently work mornings, typically 7-3 M-F. My hours vary depending on the week and what I am busy with at work. I work shifts on weekends and nights when needed I have a yard for your pet to run around in and play. I do have 3 other pets in my home that are properly vaccinated and friendly!
“Emma was great with our girls. When we returned from our trip the girls were happy and healthy. We were a bit concerned about them eating while we were gone but they did eat! Our home was exactly as we left it - picked up and clean. I would definitely recommend Emma if you need someone to pet sit.”

“Sam was wonderful! She provided great communication from start to finish, including cute photo updates! She was prompt and very friendly. Our dogs seemed quite comfortable with Sam, which can be a little tough, as they can have a bit of anxiety. Would definitely rebook!!”

“Rachael was great with my puppy! She picked her up for a stay at her house and sent me frequent updates with lots of great pictures. My puppy had the best time and I was very assured that she was well cared for!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was about 12 years old! I have pet sitted dogs, and cats! Each pet deserves as much attention and comfortablity when their owners/parents are away. I am very organized, dilegent, and cautious when it comes to pet sitting. I strive to give a great experience for both the pet and the parent so do not hesitate to reach out! If you have any questions please feel free to reach out and I will respond as soon as possible! :) I am currently in college, studying for my associates in Liberal Arts: Math and Science! I primarily take online classes, and will update my schedule if I am unavailble due to an in person class! This summer 2026, I will be unavaible due to class Mondays and Wednesday from 10:10-12:10pm. I am unable to have any pets stay with me due to my three cats. Unless they are reptillian, then they are welcome to stay in my home in a seperate and secure bedroom away from my cats! For taking care of pets in your home, you should expect them to be fed at their normal times, played with, and being taken care of using the expectations of the owner!
“Sarah was great with our dog hank and it was very convenient letting us book her last minute for the next day. She was punctual with arrival time and hank seemed to like her, which is the most important part!”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Linden walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Linden maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Linden choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Linden. On Rover:
- 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 91% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
