He came out for a meet and greet and asked me a lot of great questions. I really appreciate him. it allowed me to go away for a couple days knowing my pets were being well cared for. About: I’ve always loved animals and felt a special connection between them. I believe that every animal deserves the world and all the love! I have a dog of my own, who is my baby! Any time there is an animal I want to make friends and be where they are:) I am currently working full time, but have a lot more availability on Thursdays and Sundays. I am around Saturdays after 3. Depending on the pets needs, I can stay over and go to work from your home. I would love to play with your dog, take them for walks and adventures. I can feed them breakfast and dinner, and include treats. Definitely give them plenty of love as well!

About: I grew up having dogs and cats for pets. Back then you also ended up with puppies and kittens! I always had cats, my favorite friend, Kitty, who was 17 passed away last year and now I just want to be a temporary friend and caregiver. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for my friends and family, and am now retired so I decided to try Rover. I have a nice yard and live in a residential neighborhood with wide streets. I have also taken care of pets by stopping in and feeding friends cats, scooping the box and giving them some attention so they aren't too lonely while their owner is gone. I've had experience giving medicine to my sister's older cat and making sure the other, younger one did not eat it! I’m retired so my schedule is very flexible. I do go to the gym or walk outside which takes up a couple of hours at most. This time is flexible also. If you need someone to care for a cat or cats, I can stop in pretty much at any time. I have a safe residential neighborhood and would have your dog on a leash if we walked or were outside. I’ve also cared for cats at their own home, stopping by to clean the litter box, feed them and give them some attention so they won’t be lonely.

About: Hi! I’m Kat, a reliable, animal-obsessed sitter who believes every pet deserves care that feels like a staycation, not a “where did my people go?” situation. Whether your pet is a professional napper, a zoomie enthusiast, a treat negotiator, or all three, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and very spoiled. My goal is simple: to care for your pets the way I care for my own: with patience, love, and respect. Because they aren’t just pets, they’re family. With 4 cats of my own, I know how important it is to make your pets feel safe and comfortable. I keep my schedule super flexible, so I can usually work around your pet’s routine instead of the other way around. I’m available mornings, afternoons, and evenings for drop‑ins and can adjust visit times to match feeding, walks or playtime, and quiet hours. If your plans change, I do my best to accommodate last‑minute requests, as long as I’m not already booked, so your dog or cat’s care stays consistent and stress‑free. I treat your home and your pet with the utmost respect, and the way I would want to be treated and how I would want my own family to be treated. It will look like I was never even there.

Tyler took extremely great care of our house and our pets. When one of our heaters short circuited and started a fire. He responded quickly ensured our four dogs and cat were outside and fire department was called. Tyler kept us up to date as we were out of the country. The care and compassion he showed for our 3 dogs and 1 cat was amazing. He gave medications and stayed to their feeding schedule. He communicated daily with photos and updates. I highly recommend him.

Sarah was nothing short of amazing! She went out of her way to make my 2, very attached, dogs extremely comfortable during our week away. Despite the thunderstorms and holiday fireworks they were happy and at ease. It was an added bonus that we came home to a clean house AND relaxed happy dogs. Sarah was diligent, respectful and very professional. This is our first time using Rover and I couldn't be any happier with Sarah. We will be repeat customers for sure!

About: I studied in the Veterinary Assisting program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School for 4 years, and graduated in 2025. During that time, I passed the TVMA Veterinary Assistant Certification (CVA) test. During this time, I became proficient in all of the skills a Veterinary Assistant would be expected to perform, and knowledgeable on relevant topics. I was also the recipient of the Certificate of Merit Achievement for Nashoba Tech’s Veterinary Assisting program. I had an amazing dog of my own who I loved and took care of for 10 years. I have also owned a guinea pig and taken care of numerous family cats throughout my life. I have been taking care of other people’s animals since I was 10 years old, watching the pets of family and friends. I am familiar with the care of all sorts of animals, not just limited to typical household pets. I have a lot of experience with animals with unique needs. My skills include fear free restraint and general handling, wound treatment, administration of medication, providing proper enrichment, and use of CPR. Here are some of the relevant certifications I have received: RESCUE- Veterinary Infection Preventionist Certification (September 2022) OSHA 10-hour Veterinary Certification (June 2022) Fear Free Certification (February 2023) Some of my other achievements: Recipient of the 2023 Massachusetts Student Achievement Award Member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society Selected attendee of 2023 MIAA Student Leadership Conference If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am working part time as a doordasher, babysitter, and house cleaner, and my schedule is very adaptable. I prefer to schedule things at least two weeks in advance to keep a neat schedule. The farther out you book with me the more likely I am to be available, but I will still try my best to fit things in if they’re last minute. I take special care to ensure the animals I care for feel comfortable around me and are comfortable in their own homes. I always make sure to clean up after the animals and myself.

Mark was a wonderful sitter for our dogs while we were away. He was easily reachable and gave us updates and photos. We were worried that our timid dog would not do well with someone new, but Mark was able to become friends with him in no time at all. Our home was also well taken care of and left clean. We would definitely book him again in the future, thanks Mark!

FAQs for House Sitting - Leominster

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Leominster on Rover is $66.6 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,473 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Leominster. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Leominster walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Leominster maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Leominster choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Leominster. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
