Our Huskies bonded with Meaghon immediately! In fact, so much that Charlie, when he realized Meaghon was going home after the meet and great, jumped into her car and really did not want her to leave. Our two intuitive and discerning Huskies picked right up on Meaghon's calm leadership and experience. It was very clear that Charlie and Coco were in very good care. Peace of mind for us.

Amanda has been amazing! She’s done a couple of drop-ins for me to give my cat her medication, and did a long weekend stay at my house. She left my place in the same state it was in when I left, and provided updates at the end of each visit.

Kate’s fantastc! She handled our admittedly very stubborn and shy dog with ease and even got a few walks in while we were on a week’s vacation. She sent pictures and updates and was very communicative throughout the whole process. We’d 100% trust her care again.

About: I used to work at an endangered farm animals petting zoo and took care of the animals every day! I took care of all varieties including goats, sheep, cows, ponies and even emus and camels! I also have had 5 dogs in my childhood home, two labs, a border collie greyhound mix, a labradoodle and a beagle basset hound. I currently own a dog with my girlfriend named Maisie who is a mini Bernedoodle! I am currently taking classes during the week from 8:30am-12:30pm so I have loads of time to take care of your furry friends! I can get walks in as early as you would like and can check in multiple times throughout the day. Having owned and taken care of many pets in my life I know how important they are to you and I will take care of them like they are my own! I love finding any new trails for hiking and walking near me, and love to get outside and let out some energy. I am a pet lover myself and love to run around, play and snuggle with my own pups.

About: I like to watch it’s me or the dog every night. And my cat from hell. I’m interested in getting my dog training certificate in the nearest future. My cat brings me such joy. He is a 16 year old black cat and such a good boy! He can even go on walks with us. I work for the Worcester Public schools and have all school vacations off. I am able to come and do house calls in the evening time (4-late night) or house sit overnight on weekdays or weekends. Also during school vacations including the summer. We have an indoor house cat. He’s declawed and very friendly. We also have a fenced in area in the backyard with very high fences. There is possibility that borders could be segregated from the cat if necessary. We are in a good neighborhood for walking and very near some good trails.

Colin took care of my rescue pup, Annie, a black lab mix with special needs, for an extended stay after a previous sitter had to cancel at the last minute. You could tell right off what a pet lover he was. He asked many good questions at the meet and greet, was punctual and handled Annie’s energy well on a leash. Colin sent me pictures and multiple daily updates on how she was doing. Giving her daily meds, tennis ball play times and long walks to help with her anxiety were part of a daily routine. I came home to a tired and happy pup. I would highly recommend Colin to anyone needing pet sitting services! Jain & Annie

Matt did a great job taking care of our two doodles while we were away. He also took the time to come by for a meet and greet before our dates so he could see the routine and get to know their personalities before he stayed with them. We'll reach out to him again the next time we need someone!

Kendel was great house sitting for our dog Pan. Before we left, she came by twice to get to know us a bit and then to pick up the key. While we were gone, she sent pictures and updates for us regularly to let us know that he was ok. When we came home, he was acting like his normal happy self—not always the case when we haven’t been home. Kendel did a great job keeping us and the fur baby relaxed and happy while we were traveling.

Tyler took extremely great care of our house and our pets. When one of our heaters short circuited and started a fire. He responded quickly ensured our four dogs and cat were outside and fire department was called. Tyler kept us up to date as we were out of the country. The care and compassion he showed for our 3 dogs and 1 cat was amazing. He gave medications and stayed to their feeding schedule. He communicated daily with photos and updates. I highly recommend him.

Kayla took great care of the house, and afforded me the peace of mind one needs to have when you leave your dogs with a sitter. Thank Kayla - much appreciated.

About: I grew up having dogs and cats for pets. Back then you also ended up with puppies and kittens! I always had cats, my favorite friend, Kitty, who was 17 passed away last year and now I just want to be a temporary friend and caregiver. I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for my friends and family, and am now retired so I decided to try Rover. I have a nice yard and live in a residential neighborhood with wide streets. I have also taken care of pets by stopping in and feeding friends cats, scooping the box and giving them some attention so they aren't too lonely while their owner is gone. I've had experience giving medicine to my sister's older cat and making sure the other, younger one did not eat it! I’m retired so my schedule is very flexible. I do go to the gym or walk outside which takes up a couple of hours at most. This time is flexible also. If you need someone to care for a cat or cats, I can stop in pretty much at any time. I have a safe residential neighborhood and would have your dog on a leash if we walked or were outside. I’ve also cared for cats at their own home, stopping by to clean the litter box, feed them and give them some attention so they won’t be lonely.

Julisa was wonderful - she stayed in frequent contact, sent pictures and, when our rascal of a dog breached the fence and ran off, she immediately got on the phone with me and we tracked him down at a neighbor’s house. I know what a terrible feeling that is when watching someone else’s furry babies and Julisa handled it so well.

We were thrilled to have found Fiorella! She was so incredibly communicative and thoughtful all throughout and our sweet but anxious rescue dog and shy cat loved her. We felt so much peace of mind having her watch our pets, especially as our dog has only been with us for six months. We loved her so much we can’t wait to have her back in a few weeks. .

FAQs for House Sitting - East Princeton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in East Princeton on Rover is $111 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 2,245 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across East Princeton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred East Princeton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in East Princeton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in East Princeton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in East Princeton. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
