“We could not have asked for a better and more responsive person to watch our dog than Bethany! She kept us fully updated the entire weekend we were gone and sent us so so so many amazing photos. This was our first time leaving our senior dog in a very long time, and we were really anxious about being away from him, but the minute she got to our house I felt at ease and knew he was in the best possible hands. She loved our old guy as much as we do! I would book Bethany over and over and over again if I could!”

“Kathleen was amazing!! She took great care of Charlie and sent me pictures and updates to ease my mind! Would definitely recommend and plan on using her from now on”

“We had a 5 day trip planned for 4th of July, not only making it the longest we had left our dogs but all of our friends/family were also busy and weren’t available to watch our pups. Lauren was very responsive when scheduling, sent us updates while we were away and was very respectful of our home! It was our first time having to use a sitter and she couldn’t have made us more comfortable through the entire stay! We are already talking about another stay and I will refer her to anyone and everyone we know in need of a sitter ?”

“Dawn is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! We are so happy to have found her and can’t wait to have her visit our baby in the future. ? She texted photos throughout the day and kept us up to date along the way. Thank you for loving our dog like your own!”
About: I grew up surrounded by dogs and cats! I had 4 dogs growing up; a pug, a golden retriever, 2 cavaliers and a calico cat! I spent high school dog sitting and cat sitting around my neighborhood and through friends of my family! I’ve watched dogs and cats of all different demeanors and even a flying squirrel! I love taking dogs on walks and playing with any kitties, and of course giving some love while you’re away! My work schedule changes a little bit but I work Monday- Friday either 6:30-2:30 or 8-4! I have weekends off too! So anytime I’m not working I can come see your pet! At a clients home I will respect whatever boundaries and routines their animal is used to! I love going on walks and playing with animals, and of course some snuggles! Right now I live in a one bedroom apartment just with my cat! Half the apartment is filled with her toys and she loves spending time out on the balcony sunning and bird watching!
“Andrew house-sat and watched my dog while I was out of town for a wedding for several days. We highly highly recommend him! He was so great with Parker (who can sometimes be a handful), took great care of her, was communicative, and very patient when some badly timed house problems popped up. Andrew also completely saved the day by extending his stay when my flight was canceled, and he left my house looking clean and tidy! Five stars!”

About: I regularly pet sit for friends and family. 1-3 weeks mostly; but can do just a few days as well. Private home with a fenced yard. Dog lead in yard is available. I love to walk! Short or long walks are all fine with me. I’ve been around dogs my entire life. I’ve owned 3 in my adult life. I even fostered a dog for 9 months! It was hard to give her up; but she went to a loving home. I’m honest and trustworthy and dogs just make every day better! I work a pretty flexible schedule. I’m retired so I have lots of time. If your dog likes car rides and public parks…awesome! There’s also 2-3 dog parks not far from my house I have a big yard that's about 70 yards deep and I have a secured lead in both front and back yards. For added safety, I attach an air tag to your pets collar. There are sidewalks all around my neighborhood for safe walks on a leash. I'm not a fan of dog parks. I prefer to select my walking path to ensure your pets safety. I live alone.
“Sebastian continues to go above and beyond for our 7 pets and the care of our home! I received plenty of pictures that show how well he cares for our pets and spends quality time with them all. He clearly communicates everything that goes on with our pets, from the cuteness to the cat puke. I really appreciate the multiple updates and I can truly relax while I’m away from home! He even goes out of his way on the little things like grabbing the mail, checking on our vehicles, vacuuming, AND refilling our dog’s daily pill container!!! I know our pets look forward to seeing him again.”

“Laura is fantastic! She is always on time and professional, but also like family. She loves Spencer and takes great care of him when we are away. We don’t have to worry about a thing!!”

“Maggie was very professional and organized, and did a great job with our boy Malcolm! This was our first time leaving him with someone he didn't know in our house for an extended period, and we were nervous as Malcolm can be a bit shy around new people. But Maggie was very understanding and gentle with him, and even came by before our trip to meet him. Malcolm was clearly happy and content in the photos she sent us, and we came home to a very peaceful dog and house - and speaking of house Maggie also left things very clean and tidy!”

“Serenity has cared for our Poppy twice now, and Poppy loves her. I feel very comfortable leaving her in Serenity’s care. Serenity is kind and lovely - a delight to have her in our home! We hope to have her back soon!”

“Lux was fantastic. We needed a last minute in home Pet sitter and Lux to the rescue! Lux came by the house to check things out on short notice and came back later in the day. During the stay Lux communicated frequently giving us updates and photos. All our furry and non furry friends were well taken care of and happy upon our return. Highly recommend Lux 10/10”

“Levi was great! My dog, Bella seemed to warm up to him immediately during our meet and greet which helped ease my anxiety as I was leaving the country for 10 days! He was great with communication and I will definitely use Levi again!”

About: I have over 30 years of experience caring for animals and truly treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m dependable, patient, attentive, and understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pet. Whether it’s walks, feeding, playtime, companionship, or simply lots of love and attention, I’ll make sure your pet feels happy, safe, and cared for while you’re away. ❤️ My schedule is very flexible, which allows me to make pet care a priority. I’m currently not working, so I’m available throughout the day and can often accommodate same-day or last-minute requests. I’m open to daily or weekly care and have plenty of time for walks, playtime, feeding, companionship, and lots of love and attention. I genuinely love animals and enjoy spending my day caring for them! I treat every pet as if they were my own, with safety, patience, and lots of love. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions, routines, feeding schedules, and any special needs. I also treat my clients’ homes with the same care and respect I would want for my own. At my home, pets receive plenty of attention, supervised outdoor time, walks, and playtime, with nearby parks for extra exercise and adventure.
“Courtney was awesome! She took great care of not only our dog, but also our home. She was extremely respectful of our property, left the sheets and towels washed and folded for us, did her dishes and put them back where she found them, and left our house exactly as she found it, if not in even better condition. Our dog even started to have an upset stomach while we were gone, and she reached out immediately to let us know and took steps to make sure he was taken well care of, as if he was her own dog. We got pictures every day with updates, and the meet and greet beforehand showed how enthusiastic and caring Courtney is. We came home to handwritten notes, and I feel so confident that my dog was truly cared for while I was away. Courtney is a real gem, and we will not hesitate to reach out to her again the next time we need a sitter. I highly recommend Courtney to anyone!”

“Jared was great with our two crazy puppies and all of our other animals. Sent lots of pictures, I could tell the dogs loved him. Gave us peace of mind during our trip. He also had a great doughnut recommendation for our destination!”

“We could not live Taylor more. She came on a holiday weekend to stay with our boys while we were in town for the weekend. They absolutely loved her. She was so patient and sweet with them. And best of all, the boys had such a great time with her. She also didn’t hesitate to care for our diabetic, blind, 10 year old little man. We will be sure to book Taylor anytime we’re in town.”

Absolutely loved Taylor, and we can tell our dog did too! She sent us pictures and updates throughout her stay, we felt totally at ease while we were gone—and also, Taylor was just in overall great person too, loved chatting with her and getting to know her! We would absolutely book with her again and recommend her to other people!

It was so nice to be able to get out of town without a worry, and leaving our dog for a few days in the comfort of his home and routine knowing that Sebastian was taking great care of him. Sebastian is not only great with our dog, he’s communicative and very accommodating. He’s transparent about his availability and super professional. He respected our home and helped us by bringing in deliveries that arrived while we were out of town. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks Sebastian! We hope the next time we need a sitter, our schedules align.

Serenity has taken care of Poppy three times, and it has been great to have her every time! When Serenity arrived, Poppy was so happy to see her! To me, that is the highest compliment one can give - that we are walking out the door and she is happy to see her caring friend! We look forward to having Serenity back soon!

Kayla did an amazing job caring for our pets! She was very responsive, kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was clear our pets were happy and well cared for. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter, and we will happily book with her again!
Jared was awesome! He always made me feel at ease that my pup was being well taken care of. I received many pictures and comments about my pup, while I was away. He went above and beyond taking him walks on trails. He made my dog very comfortable and relaxed. I will definitely be contacting Jared again for my dog sitting/walking needs.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Latonia on Rover is $43.87 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Latonia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Latonia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Latonia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
