“I’m a travel nurse so I work really long hours. Katie came and sat with my girl a little bit each day I was at work and went above and beyond to take care of my girl!! If I’m ever in her area again I will so be using her again to take care of Willow. She truly loved my dog and my dog loved her. At one point I flew home and my sitter called was I landed and unable to care for Willow. Katie stepped up and made a very stressful situation bearable!! She is amazing and I 10/10 recommend her to anyone!”
“Zachary was great! He helped us out at the last minute and provided wonderful care to our big dog! Zachary was very attentive, he fed and walked Mischka and made sure he got his medication. He sent many pictures so that we knew that Mischka was doing well.”

“Maegan watched our goats and chickens for a week. Unfazed by the complicated instructions and our shifting plans, sent cute photos--felt very good to leave them in her competent and reliable hands.”

“Riven was excellent. She was always on time for the scheduled visits, spent time with the dogs, and was very communicative about how they were doing. Our dogs seemed very happy. I would highly recommend Riven”

About: I grew up around cats and dogs all my life; I don't own any myself but I have lots of experience with short-term pet care. This is my first time providing services on Rover, please let me know any questions. I am currently funemployed, and I am available for walks and care with flexibility - I will work with you to arrange a schedule that aligns with everyone. (I'm still figuring this out). In a pet-owner's home, respect and consideration are first and foremost. If I provide service at your home, the only way you should know I was ever there is that your pet(s) haven't made any "messes" anywhere they shouldn't have.
“Katherine did a wonderful job taking care of Joe. I came home to a very well groomed, happy, and healthy kitty. Katherine also did a wonderful job communicating, keeping things clean, and very clearly adores animals. I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again or recommend her to others.”

“Our pup ADORES Ann Marie and I always know she is going to be in great hands. Thank you for the thorough updates throughout the visit and for beings such a great friend to her!!”

“Sara was amazing with my cat Sophie. This was my first time using a pet service and I was nervous about the prospect until I met Sara and immediately felt at ease. The whole experience for me and my cat went very smoothly and I have already booked Sara for another time in a few weeks. Thank you Rover and of course Sara.”

“I felt very fortunate that Chelsea was available to take care of my cat Ivan during my trip to Greece. This was my second booking and I had absolutely no worries. Chelsea clearly loves taking care of pets and they love her right back!”

“Brittany did a terrific job of caring for Chance. She was diligent about giving him his meds, and spraying a hot spot he had each day. She noticed when he took some skin off his nose, and tried her best to keep his ecollar on when Chance was doing all he could to take it off. Thanks to her his hot spot is almost gone and he’s healthy and happy. She’s the best.”

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lancaster. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
