About: I’ve had dogs since I was young. As well as taking care of many of my neighbors/ relatives animals. I have also taken care of dogs and cats young and old and I am volunteering at KC Pet Project. I’m currently a college student home for the summer and will have a part time job. I would be excited to take care of your pets in between! I feed, bathe, brush, and exercise my own dog and have since I was young. About: Taking care of people’s pets is my passion, and I have over fifteen years experience caring for them as a vet technician, animal care technician at several different boarding facilities, and as an animal shelter volunteer. I provide attentive, professional care with a genuine love for every dog I meet. I don’t just “watch” pets—I learn their routines, personalities, and needs so they feel safe, relaxed, and at home. Over the course of my professional career I have worked with every type of breed and personality under the sun, from high-energy puppies to scared of their own shadow rescues to “just want a nice quiet place to lay down” senior dogs, I’m confident in reading behavior, maintaining structure, and responding calmly in any situation. I have yet to encounter a pet who hasn’t warmed up to me within a few hours, or wasn’t excited to come back to stay again. Pets under my care are treated with patience, affection, and respect—like family, not a booking! Unlike traditional boarding, I do not use kennels, unless they are necessary and that is communicated to me by the owner because of potty training and/or destructive behaviors. I have got dog beds for every shape and size, although most are more comfortable on the coach with me or in my bed at night. And, of course, there is no extra charge for playtime or extra treats! My family are all pet lovers here as well, so my husband and kids love having extra dogs around to spoil with treats, walks around our subdivision up to the pond, couch snuggles, and endless playtime in our large fenced in backyard. I never watch more than four at a time, to make sure every one of them gets plenty of attention. I am currently working on obtaining my Masters degree, primarily online, so I am home with the pets I “board” the majority of the day. I currently work from home 20 hours a week medical billing and coding and doing online program for my masters. My schedule is very flexible and I am at home pretty much 24/7. I have a fenced in large yard in a quiet neighborhood, so I walk dogs I watch/my dogs 1-2 times a day and let out any elderly dogs I am currently watching through the front door to avoid the deck steps. I feed my dogs twice a day, they drink filtered water and get denta sticks each day. I always bring dog treats on walks so reinforce good behavior. We consider our pets people here, so getting on furniture is allowed as well, unless the owner says to discourage. I do not kennel dogs unless owner provides kennel and instructs me to use it for crate training/destructive behaviors.

I am extremely comfortable with unique behavioral/medical needs and I find great joy in working with these animals. I have always loved animals. This was amplified when I completed an internship at an exotic animal sanctuary on their animal care team. After this, I trained as a veterinary technician at a senior dog sanctuary specializing in hospice care. When I moved to KC, I worked as a vet tech under a renowned veterinary orthopedic surgeon. I was the lead vet tech for a high-volume clinic where I was the lead surgery and dental tech, emergency tech, and euthanasia tech, and I oversaw the vet tech schedule and controlled substance logs. I am comfortable administering injections (insulin, for example), administering subcutaneous fluids, delivering triage care in an emergency with your animal, and monitoring heart rates, respiratory rates, and capillary refill times. On a personal level, I am the proud mom of a one-eyed French Bulldog, a senior Chihuahua, a ball python, a milk snake, and an eyelash-crested gecko. In the past, I have been a parent to hamsters, rats, a guinea pig, a corn snake, and multiple fish species. I currently work as a Behavioral Interventionist for a district that participates in four-day weeks. For the summer, I have open availability. The school year will begin again 8/11/25 for me which will leave me with full availability for Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays and availability from 5 am to 8 am and after 5 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays until the end of May, holiday breaks being the exception. When you request a time for a visit, I will care for your pets within one hour before or one hour after the requested time unless there is a special circumstance such as medication administration needed at exact times. For example, if you request a drop-in visit at 12pm, the visit may start anywhere from 11am to 1pm in order to accommodate unexpected situations where I need to spend more time with an animal. An animal's safety is my highest priority. I am trained in safe dog introductions and reading animal body language. Additionally, I am trained to safely intervene if an interaction between animals becomes aggressive to minimize injury to the animals and myself. I am well versed in identifying potential emergency medical situations and will respond quickly to reduce stress on your beloved pet. I would like to know immediately if something is wrong with one of my babies, and it is essential to show you the same respect.

About: Hi! I go by my middle name, Kathy and I’m 69 years old, I have 3 dogs currently and have had dogs, cats, birds, bunnies, ducks, hamsters, bearded dragons and a gecko for pets as well as fish! I can provide several references from people I have cared for their pets. I love all animals. I do work part time 9-1:30 M-F during the school year, I’m off during the summer, but will be able to take care of your pet before work and then after and through the night. I’m very trust worthy and would love the opportunity to care for your pets. I take care of your home and your pets as carefully as my own. I’m currently working part time and would have plenty of time to care for your pet before and after work. I’m also available to spend the nights when needed. I provide in your home sitting only. I feel keeping your pet in their home in their familiar surroundings is much less stressful on them. I will provide as much love and cuddles as they will allow. My typical day during the week would consist of me getting up early enough to let your pet out to potty, feed and water them and play a little while. Then I would go to work till 12:30/1:30, go back to your house and repeat the morning routine unless your pet does not eat again in the afternoon, play and cuddle as much as your pet wants. If your pet sleeps with you, they are more than welcome to sleep with me too.

About: Hello! I’ve taken care of family and friend’s dogs for about 8 years now and I have a dog of my own! Her name is Wednesday and she’s a German Shepherd Mix that I’ve had for 2.5 years. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and breeds and treat them all like the little fur babies they are! I work from home and I have a very flexible schedule so I will be available to drop in and take your dog(s) as many times as needed throughout the day. I will make sure to follow their normal routine as much as possible. Such as feeding times, frequency in walks/potty time, play time, etc. Additionally, I am a huge dog lover and I have no problem cuddling, petting, and playing with your fur-baby while I care for them.

About: I have dogs of my own, and have had dogs all my life. I love giving attention and letting your fur baby know they are cared for. I understand traveling is not always dog friendly so I want to help your fur babies feel comfortable and loved while you are away. I’ll send you pictures of your babies so it’s like you never left! My current work schedule varies, some days I’m 11a-4p other days I start at noon / end earlier, and others I can work 11 hrs (will discuss those days in more detail per booking request). If booked a month in advance I can arrange my schedule where I will not be working my long days :) You tell me and I’ll do it! It’s hard enough on fur babies when their family is not home, maintaining their routine is my top priority.
