“I am so excited that I found someone who will luv and take care of my fur babies like I would. This was the first time I left my babies with a sitter. Katie assured me they would be ok and for me to go enjoy myself on my little getaway! I am happy that I did! I luv how Katie made communication during their stay. I could see that my fur babies were well taken care of and was enjoying their stay. The walks, playtime, and other activities. Thank you Katie! You Rock!!!!!”

“Rylee is wonderful. She took great care of Kiko and sent me updates very often. She was also very receptive to my instructions and advice for taking care of him. Kiko got to play with her other dogs, enjoy the big fenced in yard, go for rides in the car and enjoy some pup cups. Rylee really treated Kiko as one of her own. I will absolutely seek her out again should I need someone to care for Kiko in the future.”

“Michelle was amazing to work with! We ended up having an issue with flights and had to cut our dogs stay with her short but I can tell from the time he was there how loving and attentive she is. Will book again!”

“Annalisa is amazing! She watched two dogs for us, one of which was a puppy in heat, and she was absolutely fantastic. She even changed and washed her diaper multiple times! Annalisa was also incredibly flexible with scheduling, which really separates her from the pack. She has a true passion for dogs, and it's wonderful to be able to leave your furry friends with someone you can trust. We will absolutely be using her for all of our future dog-watching needs!”

“Anthony did a great job taking care of my pup. She can be shy and fearful in new situations and Anthony did a great job to keep her calm and comfortable. She enjoyed playing with his dogs, Yoki and Canelo. I enjoyed receiving updates and pictures of my pup while I was away which helped me feel at ease. Anthony is calm, reliable and welcoming. I plan to use his services again when I need them.”

“Sierra was absolutely amazing! It was my first time leaving my dog with someone new for the weekend and my dog adjusted so well and Sierra sent a bunch of pictures and updates! Would definitely book with her in the future”

“Charlette was wonderful!!! Nikey does well with new people, but can get nervous in new environments. Charlette treated him with kindness and patience. She was able and willing to work with his normal routine and sent plenty of updates and pictures, which helped me feel at ease. Nikey warmed up to her, her home, and her family quickly. We are so happy to have connected with Charlette and will absolutely request services again!!!”

“This was our first time leaving our puppy. We were a little nervous. When we meet Courtney she made us feel very comfortable. Our dog loved her dogs immediately. They got along great. Courtney sent daily updates, pictures and videos. We definitely would recommend her and will have her watch Myles anytime we need someone.”

“Georgia and her husband were amazing! They treated Olivia like a member of their family. They sent daily photos, worked on training, went for multiple walks, and played with her all the time. I will certainly use Georgia next time I need to leave my puppy at home! Thanks so much!! 🐶❤️”

“Valerie did such a great job taking care of my senior pup! She communicated well, was super sweet, and very understanding about the extra care a senior pup needs. I could tell Skip was in the best hands while I was away! I definitely recommend Valerie to any dog parent:)”

About: I’ve always had dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve watched friends’ pets in the past to help them out. I’ve boarded and walked on multiple occasions. I work during the day M-F. During the summer my two very responsible 19 and 20 year olds are home to help out and play with the animals as well. I’m looking at this as a learning opportunity in responsibility for them. I have a small yard and live in a nice neighborhood that is good for walking. I have a dog named Westley who is 3 1/2 and a cat, Daisy, that is 6. Both have been around both dogs and cats. Daisy generally will hide if she’s scared. Westley loves to play.
“Beverly was great! She sent several pictures of Lucy throughout the day. Very good communication. Lucy had a great time because she came home exhausted. Would definitely have Beverly watch Lucy again when we need a pet sitter.”

“Michaela did a wonderful job watching our two rescues for a day. This was their first stay with her and I would love to book a stay with her again in the future. She sent photos and put my mind at ease as I was worried about how my dogs would do, everything went perfectly! I couldnt be happier with today's visit. Thank you Michaela!”

“Kelly was absolutely amazing. We needed a dog sitter in a pinch, last minute. She met our dogs next day, then the day after we dropped them off. One of my girls has major anxiety amd super hyperactive. She took them for walks amd sent us pictures. Couldn't believe they were the same dogs! Highly recommend...”

“Sarah was awesome! She was available on a pretty short notice and sent me photos and updates throughout the weekend. Sarah and her family are all dog lovers and very friendly. I highly recommend her and if I'm ever in need of a dog sitter again, she's first on my list! Thanks again Sarah!”

“Communication was maintained. Alexis spoke with confidence that she had experience which relaxed me for it was the first time my pet was left with a stranger. Alexis quickly assessed my pet needs, and they were met. I would use this service again, and recommend to family/friends.”

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! OUR TO GO SITTER! We have used Erika twice now for our yearly trips out of state and we would feel comfortable recommending her to anyone. You can definitely rest easy having your pup in her care. We couldn't have been more appreciative with the care Erika provided taking care of our pup for the 8 days we were away. Erika's pup Huxley was the perfect play mate for our pup to feel right at home and to help burn off energy. Erika was very easy to communicate with and sent us updates multiple times a day with how our pup was doing.

Marissa was the perfect sitter for our girl. She has a cozy home complete with all the essentials - dog blankets, chewies and sidewalks for walks. More than that, Marissa is a dog lover and made my dog her priority during the stay, with the photos of her tucked in under blankets to prove it 😂 I’m very lucky to have found her and will def be booking again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
