This was our first time using an app and having a stranger watch our dogs. It was the best decision we could have made or else we never would have met Kim! Kim was knowledgeable, warm and friendly to us and especially our dogs. She made us feel extremely comfortable and confident to leave our dogs with her and her family for 2 days. She retained everything we told her about the dogs, sent pictures and updates. Wonderful first experience!

Dan and his family were excellent dog sitters for our pup who stayed with them for 3 nights. She is 7 months old and this was our first time leaving her with anyone so I was very nervous. We did a meet and greet and Dan and his family made us feel comfortable right away. During her stay, he was very responsive to texts and gave multiple updates about what they did and even sent pics! They have a nice background where our girl was able to run around and play and their house is very spacious and clean. They took her on multiple long walks during her stay and when we picked her up on Sunday and brought her home I could not believe how exhausted she was! She’s a puppy with lots of energy so to see her passed out means she must’ve had a great time getting lots of attention and exercise! I definitely would not hesitate to have Dan dog sit again for us and I’m grateful to know I now have someone that she & I both trust & feel comfortable with. Thanks again to Dan & his wonderful family!

Melissa and Gregory were incredible! This was our first time using Rover and they put us immediately at ease. They welcomed our rambunctious puppy into their home with open arms, making us feel confident that he would be well taken care of. He had some tummy troubles going on when we had to leave and they were so understanding, telling us not to worry. He made a mess in his crate one night because of this and they were so understanding, not bothered at all. They cooked up his brat diet (ground beef and rice) for several days until his stomach was working better. Leo came back to us healthy and happy. I highly recommend Melissa and Greg - they are just super!

About: As a fellow pet parent, I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone new. That’s why I treat every pet like part of my own little furry family—warm cuddles, silly moments, and all. Your pet’s happiness and comfort mean everything to me. I’m available for boarding pet care on the weekends mainly. Also, open to be flexible and accommodate special requests. Please message me with your questions. I have a smaller fenced yard for quick potty breaks throughout the day and take my own two doggies for regular walks in the neighborhood as well. A minimum of 2x per day, rain or snow.

About: I’m a recently retired professional with a lifelong love of dogs and a home that feels a little too quiet these days. For many years, I cared for my own dog, who was truly part of my family. After losing him about a year ago, I’ve found myself missing the companionship, joy, and daily rhythm that comes with having a dog around. While I’m not quite ready for another full-time pet of my own, I would love to open my home to care for yours. Because I’m retired, I’m home most (if not all) of the day. That means your dog will get plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision-no long stretches alone. Whether your pup loves walks, playtime, or just relaxing nearby, I’m happy to meet them where they are. I’m experienced with daily routines like feeding, walking, administering basic care, and, most importantly, providing a calm, loving environment. I understand how important it is to feel confident your dog is safe and well cared for while you’re away, and I treat every dog as if they were my own. I truly enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making them feel comfortable and loved. It would be a privilege to care for your pet. Because I’m retired, I’m home most (if not all) of the day. That means your dog will get plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision—no long stretches alone. Whether your pup loves walks, playtime, or just relaxing nearby, I’m happy to meet them where they are. What You Can Expect: -A safe, quiet home environment with a fully-fenced yard -Lots of attention and companionship throughout the day -Regular walks and playtime tailored to your dog’s needs -Updates and photos so you can feel at ease

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Lancaster

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Boarding in Lancaster on Rover is $42.18 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Boarding easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Boarding. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 344 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Lancaster. About 91% of Lancaster sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
