“As usual I was nervous leaving Shadow with someone new, but Michelle's home is so welcoming and Shadow took to Michelle and her home right away. She sent pictures a couple times a day and I could see from the photos that Shadow was relaxed and comfortable. That reassurance made my trip all the more relaxing.”

“Eileen and her family took care of my baby Kennedy for 8 days and I could not have left him in the best care. Eileen is very attentive to my needs for this care. Kennedy came back home well behave, he got along with her 2 precious dogs. This was Kennedy first time being around dogs this long and he did Great!!! Eileen gave Kennedy a bath, which i was very appreciated. She also put Kennedy PJs on him and change daily. She gave me updates and pictures. I will be using Eileen in the future when I need care for my baby. I thank you and your family from the bottom of heart for such good care you have given. “I cannot express enough the wonderful care my dog Willow received during her vacation. I was very anxious leaving her for the first time and especially with people she did not know. I got updates and photos daily. I was able to take her familiar bedding and toys and treats. I am also great full that she got her eye med ointment every day.”

“We entrusted Cuddles to Miranda for a few hours. She kept us updated with adorable photos, which put our minds at ease and made us feel so relieved to leave our precious Yorkie in her hands.”

“We were very pleased with Joan and Timothy. They sent a picture or video each day that our dog Daisy was with them. She was taken on many walks and they enjoyed time together like hanging out in the garage watching the outside. We would definitely use them again in the future.”

“It was the 1st time, and I'm very happy with Leah. When I was dropping off my dog, I knew that my dog would love her. Leah kept giving me updates constantly. I definitely trust Leah with my dog and will rebook with her again.”

“Dan and his family were excellent dog sitters for our pup who stayed with them for 3 nights. She is 7 months old and this was our first time leaving her with anyone so I was very nervous. We did a meet and greet and Dan and his family made us feel comfortable right away. During her stay, he was very responsive to texts and gave multiple updates about what they did and even sent pics! They have a nice background where our girl was able to run around and play and their house is very spacious and clean. They took her on multiple long walks during her stay and when we picked her up on Sunday and brought her home I could not believe how exhausted she was! She’s a puppy with lots of energy so to see her passed out means she must’ve had a great time getting lots of attention and exercise! I definitely would not hesitate to have Dan dog sit again for us and I’m grateful to know I now have someone that she & I both trust & feel comfortable with. Thanks again to Dan & his wonderful family!”

“As usual Courtney and her family did an amazing job watching my two little ones. They are such a caring family. There was an incident with another dog and Courtney and her family took my dog to our vet to get her checked out. She didn’t have to but just knowing that she did that to make sure there wasn’t any major problem really reassured my trust for their family. I will continue to go to Courtney and her family to care for my dogs.”

“Kiara & Yves, did such an amazing job with my little kitty. She was so well cared for and the sitter was super responsive sending many nice updates and photos of Lottie. I would recommend their services to anyone who was looking for a sitter!”

“Anthony did a great job taking care of my pup. She can be shy and fearful in new situations and Anthony did a great job to keep her calm and comfortable. She enjoyed playing with his dogs, Yoki and Canelo. I enjoyed receiving updates and pictures of my pup while I was away which helped me feel at ease. Anthony is calm, reliable and welcoming. I plan to use his services again when I need them.”

“First time my young dog stayed at a private home, and so there were an issue or two. Vidya dealt with them like a pro. She kept me informed and sent photos so I knew my dog was smiling and having fun.”

“This was our second time using Rover, and I am so thankful we chose Charlette and her family. From the moment we dropped our dogs off, they fell in love — and honestly, so did we. Charlette was amazing. She followed everything I asked, kept me updated, and sent pictures so I always knew my babies were safe and happy. Her whole family treated my dogs like their own, and that meant the world to me. You can truly feel the love, the patience, and the care they put into watching them. I’ll definitely be booking with Charlette again. If you want someone who treats your dogs like family, she’s the one. We will definitely be booking her again.💕🐶”

“Katie was great with my pup, Mugsy. She kept me updated on how he was doing; she sent pictures, videos and text messages. She always touched base to inquire about extending/pickup as my move-in date was moved a few times. I really appreciated her adapting and accommodating my changing schedule. Thank you Katie for loving my pup when I couldnt be with him.”

“Monica is so friendly and kind. This was the first time we used Rover for Sophie and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. You can tell she is a dog lover and I felt totally comfortable leaving Sophie with her for the week. Loved that she sent me pictures throughout the week too!”

About: Hello, thanks for taking a look at my profile. I’m excited to meet your dog. My goal is for your pup is to have a safe, clean and fun environment. As a dog owner/lover, I know how important it is to have one-on-one attention which they’ll receive. As a rule, I only watch a maximum of 2 dogs at a time and have 1 of my own. If your dog is playful and in need of engagement and exercise, we are your place. I work full-time 7-4pm so I am available after work or during the weekends when I have full availability. I specialize in smaller dog breeds but will host larger dogs that are well tempered I have a fully fenced in backyard with ample room to run and play. My home is their home while they’re with me so it is very relaxed in the house. I can accommodate diets and feeding times with food you provide. Walking your dog is included but requires a harness and leash you provide.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lancaster
Sierra was very kind, flexible, and responsive. She has a beautiful home and took good care of our puppy, Rudy. She allowed us to book an emergency extension when our car broke down during our trip. We would definitely board with her again in the future!

When my normal sitter couldn’t watch Zoey and Willow for our vacation I was in a panic. Zoey has a lot of anxiety issues when left alone and I needed to find someone that wouldn’t be gone all day. Alexis was great and Zoey and Willow looked very comfortable and happy while we were gone. I would recommend Alexis and will rebook her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
