“Charlette is very kind and caring, she will take care of your fur baby as if it was her own. She communicates quickly and often, leaving you no doubt about the situation. I'm not sure how I could give her a higher recommendation, but if I could, I would!”

“Georgia and her husband were amazing! They treated Olivia like a member of their family. They sent daily photos, worked on training, went for multiple walks, and played with her all the time. I will certainly use Georgia next time I need to leave my puppy at home! Thanks so much!! 🐶❤️”

“My puppy was so happy at Courtney space! And I appreciate Courtney was doing a wonderful job sending me photos of my puppy. I will definitely reach out to Courtney for taking care of my baby doggie again. 100% recommend her!”

“So glad to have this beautiful family watch Dax for us! He was well loved and taken care of!! We received many photos and had great communication during his visit! We will definitely be using them in the future!!”

“Anthony and Nate did a wonderful job with our Holly. I got photo/text updates on how she was doing. We would definitely book again. If you are thinking about booking with Anthony, you definitely should.”

“Jennifer is the best! She was beyond patient with our energetic and mischievous Aussie puppy. She sent pictures and updates throughout our dog’s stay. We had a great holiday knowing that Piper was in such a loving home.”

“My dog Jordan was well taken care of. I highly recommend Raisa for dog boarding. She let me know how my pup was doing and sent pictures. She was very kind and I am grateful to have found her. Would definitely go through her again. 10/5 stars!”

“This was our first time using an app and having a stranger watch our dogs. It was the best decision we could have made or else we never would have met Kim! Kim was knowledgeable, warm and friendly to us and especially our dogs. She made us feel extremely comfortable and confident to leave our dogs with her and her family for 2 days. She retained everything we told her about the dogs, sent pictures and updates. Wonderful first experience!”
“Erica was an amazing sitter for our Ellie. We had a longer trip out of town and we were nervous to leave her for that length of time. Erica was so kind and loving to Ellie! She made our trip bearable. We received daily photos and videos along with text updates. We could tell how much fun Ellie was having with Erica and her dogs. This was an amazing experience and we look forward to booking with Erica again. She will be our first call from now on!”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.

“Danielle was such a great sitter, I will be booking with her anytime I have to go away. She was so responsive and caring. Korine usually goes through extreme separation anxiety which I worried about but not with Danielle she was able to fit right in with Danielle’s family and feel comfortable. Danielle also sent me daily updates and pictures which gave me reassurance and a peace of mind knowing my furby was ok. If you book with Danielle you will not be disappointed, I 100% recommend you booking with her.”

“Linsey was amazing with Dax! He loved playing and hanging out with her pup too!! We were grateful she was able to take Dax on such short notice as our other Rover person had an emergency! We loved the communication and photos that were sent!”

“Katie was an excellent sitter for our dog Louie, while we were on a long vacation! This is the first time using Rover, as well as having someone outside of our family, watching our pet and it was an excellent experience! She sent daily updates and pictures which helped in dealing with the separation anxiety! Recommend highly and will use again!”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
