“Courtney and family were awesome watching Carly! She looked like she was having a ton of fun when updates were sent and she came home happy and so clean! Can’t thank you enough for everything. Carly will be back!”

“Amanda was great taking care of Francisco. She was very responsive and sent multiple daily updates of Francisco. He seemed to have a really good time there and I definitely would book with her again.”

“Michaela did a wonderful job watching our two rescues for a day. This was their first stay with her and I would love to book a stay with her again in the future. She sent photos and put my mind at ease as I was worried about how my dogs would do, everything went perfectly! I couldnt be happier with today's visit. Thank you Michaela!”

“Laura was fantastic with our two boys! We were impressed from the very start. She did a great job handling the meet and greet, making sure the boys were comfortable in her home and around her family. While we were on vacation, she regularly checked in, sending us pictures and videos each day. I would highly recommend Laura. We will definitely be repeat clients!”

About: I have been taking care of animals for as long as I can remember and have been pet-sitting since age 10 for family, friends, and neighbors. I have almost always lived with at least one cat or dog (or both!) throughout my life. I also have experience caring for rabbits, ferrets, gerbils, fish, parakeets, bearded dragons, and cockatiels. I currently live with two indoor tortoiseshell cats who are comfortable with dogs, and one of my cats is leash-trained. I have raised and trained at least 11 dogs from puppies to adulthood (3 as my own and the others for my parents). Most of my cats I adopted as teenagers, but I have raised a few kittens from a young age. I have done extensive dog training with the 3 dogs I raised as my own in the past, and I am familiar with both dog and cat training techniques. I live in a cabin the woods in Boston, NY, on a power line gravel road. Although I do not have a fenced in back yard, your dog will enjoy going on leashed walks down the power line road multiple times per day! I earn a living through a mix of substitute teaching (summer starts June 25th!), remote research and writing gigs, tutoring, child care, and pet care. I have a flexible schedule and incorporate pet care into the mix as much as possible because I love animals. If I am boarding a dog at my home, I will not be house sitting at that time (and vice versa). While boarding or house sitting, I will consider dog walking and drop-ins depending on the needs of the client and driving distance. If you board your dog at my home, my cats and I wake up early (about 6am) and I like to go outside for a walk down the power line road right away, and then eat breakfast. Your dog will be able to spend time with me all day (on a leash when we are outside), and if I need to leave my house, they will be in their crate for no more than 4 hours (2 is my strong preference). We will go for at least one more walk before dinner, too. I will be sure to give them plenty of play time and exercise throughout the day (depending on their level of activity and how hot it is outside). No matter what, they will get a lot of love and attention! I live in a cabin in the woods in the Town of Boston, NY, so although I do not have a fenced-in yard, there is very little traffic or people around. I will be able to go on long leashed walks with your dog down the power line for exercise, and there are a few friendly neighbor dogs that would love to say hello if your dog is up for that. I do live with two cats: one of them will hide a lot while your dog is here, but the other is very dog-friendly and will want to interact with your dog. I will monitor and separate them as needed (I have a spare room). I have always crate-trained my dogs and so long as your dog is comfortable in their crate, I will use it as a safe place for them to be while they are staying with me.
“This is my second time using rover and find it a little scary how my ludo will react to being in a different household with other dogs and cats. Miranda was very reassuring and sent me more than enough pictures of how well ludo was doing when getting comfortable in a new environment. I highly rec booking with Miranda as she is a great care taker! Could not be happier that ludo was watched with such care!”

“Danielle was awesome! Gus had an amazing time and was so tuckered out when he got home yesterday which tells me he was well cared for and played a lot. She was very responsive and provided great updates daily.”

“I can’t begin to tell you how wonderful it was to have Bev. She was watching my dog during this last snow event and not only did she reassure me because I couldn’t get back in time (plane cancelled) that she would gladly keep her as long as needed she went to the store and bought more of her dog food as I didn’t send enough. I couldn’t ask for anything more. It certainly made me feel great that my dogs care was one less thing I had to worry about. I wish I could give her more than 5 stars.”

“Mickey was great. She made Beasley feel very comfortable and treated him like one of the family. She even bought him a sweater that she let us keep while we were gone because it got very cold out. He not only loved her but he also made a couple new friends at her house. Sunny and Sylvester were great companions for him during his stay. We will definitely be calling Mickey for future travels when Beasley needs a place to stay.”

“My dog was so happy and calm when I picked him up, he must have had a great time and was comfortable. I highly recommend Alexis!! Will definitely use her again if she'll have Dobby!! Thank you for making a tough time in my life a little easier (college move in week).”

“Georgia and her husband were amazing! They treated Olivia like a member of their family. They sent daily photos, worked on training, went for multiple walks, and played with her all the time. I will certainly use Georgia next time I need to leave my puppy at home! Thanks so much!! 🐶❤️”

“Denise was able and willing to take my dog on the Fourth of July and Fae had the best time ever. She went swimming and I was sent pictures and videos. When I picked her up she had an adorable bandana on her. She had the best time!”

“Nancy has again provided a fun and fantastic camp experience for our pup. Pepper came home happy and relaxed, and the pictures of her walking in the creek are priceless! Thank you!”

“Kimberly and her family are amazing! Chyna was so happy to go and play with their dog for the weekend. She was worn out after her fun filled weekend. Would suggest her any time to any one! ”

“Jeff is so kind and patient with all animals. He leaves detailed reviews and videos to show how your animal is doing. Our Bernese Mountain dog can get high anxiety when left. Jeff is so good with Henry that even our anxiety about leaving him is put to ease. When we pick up our dog as happy as he is to see us he always goes back to see Jeff for a last petting before we leave. That shows us how trusting Henry is of Jeff! Highly recommended! Thank you Jeff for your above and beyond care given to Henry!!”

“Our family made a trip to the area. Bo is a senior and needs to potty every 4 or 5 hours during the day, so I found a sitter for him. He enjoyed lounging about while staying with Melissa. I recommend Melissa for boarding!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hamburg
We had a wonderful experience with this couple watching our dog, Roxie! They were kind, caring, and made us feel completely comfortable leaving her in their care. They kept us updated with messages and photos, and it was obvious that Roxie was happy, relaxed, and well loved while she was there. Roxie can be a little cautious in new situations, and they were so patient and gentle with her. It meant a lot to know she was in such good hands. We came home to a content, well-cared-for dog, and we wouldn't hesitate to book with them again. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and attentive pet sitters

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
