“Audrey was absolutely wonderful with Layton and we could not have asked for a better experience. She picked Layton up from our rental each day for 2-hour adventure daycare outings and made every day special—whether it was a new beach park, a different avenue to explore, or ending the adventure with a stop at a bakery for a treat. Audrey was always on time, incredibly reliable, and consistently took Layton out for the full two hours (often a bit longer). The care and thought she put into each outing really stood out. Layton can have some separation anxiety, and after just the first day she was already waiting by the door for Audrey to arrive—something that speaks volumes about the bond they formed and the trust Layton had in her. We felt completely at ease knowing Layton was in such capable, attentive, and loving hands. I would highly recommend Audrey to anyone looking for someone who truly goes above and beyond for their dog.”

“I needed Alisa on short notice to walk my dog for his afternoon walk and she was available! Thank goodness. I peeked in on my camera and she was playing tag with my dog which his favorite thing to do! It was really cute! 🥹 thank you Alisa ❤️”

“This was my first experience with Julia and it was a good one! She was very attentive, communicative, and kind. She treated my baby like her own. I have already booked her for my next trip.”

About: With over five years of dedicated pet-sitting experience, our family offers a unique, multi-species "home away from home" experience. Our household is a true animal-loving environment where every guest is treated like one of our own. Our 10-year-old Jack Russell, Mel, is the ultimate hostess, she is incredibly friendly, gentle, and loves playing with new friends. Because we share our home with everything from dogs to snakes, turtles, and lizards, we are uniquely equipped to handle a wide variety of needs. Our 16-year-old is particularly passionate about exotic pet care, ensuring that even the smallest or most unique pets get the specialized attention they require. Whether it’s a senior dog needing a gentle pace or a high-energy pup ready for the backyard, we have the experience to make them feel safe and loved. My home is active and full of life! My routine is centered around pet happiness: morning walks in our pet-friendly community, plenty of playtime in our spacious backyard, and quiet relaxation in the evenings. Your pet will never lack for attention. Whether it’s feeding time for our fish and reptiles or a game of fetch with my dog Mel, pet care isn't just a task for me- it’s a central part of my daily life. Safety is my absolute priority. I live in a large house with a beautiful open backyard. While my yard is not fenced, I operate on a "100% Eyes-On" policy. Pets are never left unattended outdoors; they are always on a leash and supervised. I maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment where guest animals have plenty of room to explore or find a cozy corner for a nap. Socialization: Carefully supervised interactions with Mel to ensure everyone is comfortable. Specialized Care: Deep knowledge of reptile and aquatic needs, ensuring your exotic pets stay on their specific light and feeding schedules.

About: I really just love dogs and miss being near my dogs everyday. Back home in Maryland I have two shih-zus currently and used to have a medium sized dog that was a sharpie/lab mix. No size dog is too big or small! I’m currently a part time bartender which means I have most mornings and afternoons off with a few evenings throughout the week as well. I currently do not have any pets since I tend to work a lot more in the fall and winter months so I wouldn’t have time to care for my own. I live in a big apartment complex that is great for walking dogs or could take them to the dog part if wanted or even go for a run with them if it’s a more athletic breed of dog.
“Sarah has been extremely professional, consistently communicates well with me and you can tell she has a love for what she does and being around animals! Her flexibility puts my mind at ease when my pup is home alone knowing she is always willing to help! Thank you, Sarah!”

About: I have taken care of dogs for neighbors, friends, and family for around 4 years. I have experience in small, big, younger, and older dogs. This includes stopping in to let the dogs out, take on walks, feed them, and keep them company! Right now, I am a hostess at a restaurant so my hours aren’t too long. I typically work a few hours in the evening, but still have a flexible schedule so just reach out for any questions! I will make sure to give your dogs plenty of play time inside and outside and give them any treats that are permitted ☺️. Before and after drop ins, I will check food & water level and make sure there were not any accidents in the house.

Brittney was amazing with Luna! Luna usually does not like strangers, so the fact that Brittney was able to get her to warm up so quickly really impressed me. She was patient, calm, and clearly has a natural way with animals. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing Luna was comfortable and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Brittney to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and great with dogs!

Our pets love Roberta! We've had her do dog walks and overnight care as well. We were so lucky to find Roberta when our sitter canceled on us days before a 5 week trip and we were in a panic! She took care of our pup Java and our 2 kitties Lil Bug and Chickpea. She handled all our pets medications and different diets. She is a great communicator and sent lots of photo and video updates 💗 we highly recommend her!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
