“First time I ever left my baby with someone I did not personally know and was beyond happy! She exceeded all my expectations and made the whole experience worry free. My little dog had a blast and is now going to be extra excited I go on vacation!”

“Julie and her family were so sweet and phenomenal with our 4-year old golden retriever! They took her in and treated her like family and she was all smiles when we picked her up! You’re in amazing hands with this kind-hearted family… absolutely recommend!!!”

“Adam is the best!!! Selah did not want to leave! Adam could not get her to go inside her crate! Adam was trying to give her a treat to go inside her crate and Selah jumped down of the truck! It's was really sad. The way she looked at Adam when he walked off and we were driving off with her, it was mind-blowing and precious! Selah just ignored me the rest of the day. 😊 She misses Adam! Thank you for a job well done Adam!”
About: I truly treat every pet like my own. I make it a priority to keep owners updated with regular messages, photos, and little notes so you always know how your fur babies are doing. I understand how important peace of mind is when you’re away, and I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing they’re in good hands. With over a decade of experience caring for dogs that need daily medication, I’m reliable, detail-oriented, and patient. I take time to play, comfort, and bond with each animal - not just to meet their needs, but to make sure they feel loved and secure. Just let me know how I can help! All summer I am FREE! During the school year I’m available for some Saturdays, all Sundays, and weekdays after 6-7 PM. I am a teacher! Whether you need an evening walk, weekend drop-in, or someone to spend a little extra time with your pets while you’re away, I’m happy to help whenever I can! When caring for pets in their own homes, I make sure they feel completely comfortable and loved while their owners are away. I follow each pet’s routine closely — feeding times, walks, medications, playtime, and cuddles — to keep everything as familiar as possible for them. I’m available for week day walks, drop-ins, and extended sitting, depending on what your pets need. I have over 10 years of hands-on experience giving medications to my own dogs (one of whom needs multiple meds daily), so I’m very comfortable administering pills, liquids, or injections if needed. Communication is a must for me. I will always let you know if something comes up, all I ask is the same from you! If we have clear communication from the start we will be just fine! Whether it’s walks around the block, belly rubs, backyard fetch sessions, or just sitting with them for comfort, I give every pet the same love and attention I give my own - Roscoe and Blue have taught me how much those little moments matter. My goal is always to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and cared for while you’re away.
“Shawndra had my babies for about 11 days. They were spoiled, loved and so well taken care of. They loved their time with Shawndra. It was so nice to be able to go on vacation and not have to worry about them at all. She sent pictures and kept me updated throughout my trip. I will definitely use her again.”

“Miranda was so great and thoughtful taking care of my old doggo cecil ! She sent me updates on my dog when I was away in vacation which made me feel safe and secure while on travel!:) she was so lovely to talk to and adored her personality!”

“Sheila was fabulous! I was nervous leaving my sweet puppy for the first time and for a whole week at that but she made me feel so comfortable the moment I dropped my Charli girl off. She sent videos throughout the week and Charli was a very happy girl when I picked her up. 10/10 recommend!”

“Lillian took wonderful care of Zoey! It was Zoey’s second time staying with Lillian and she had a great stay and clearly enjoyed herself. She got plenty of sunshine, attention, and love while she was there, which gave me peace of mind. I really appreciated the care and kindness Lillian showed throughout the stay.”

“Linda and her parents are the sweetest! This is my pups second stay with them and she seems to love it! They answered all questions I had and made me feel more than comfortable leaving my pup with them. We will be back!”

“Ms Janet was AMAZING!!! This was my first time away from my Lola and I was very nervous. I was able to do a video chat with Janet ahead of Lola's stay; immediately I felt comfortable. Ms Janet kept me up to date on Lola and sent pics and videos. I was very comfortable and grateful to have chosen Ms. Janet to watch my baby. I will definitely reach out to her again for further stays for Lola. Thank you a million times and more Janet!!”

About: I’ve had experience with both dogs and cats, having been a dog owner myself and currently a volunteer foster in the DFW area. I have cared for all ages — including puppies, kittens as young as 1 week old, adult cats/dogs and senior dogs. I hope to care for your pet be it in the comfort of their home or ours. Lots of room in the backyard for zoomies! I do work full time but have the flexibility to work from home. I typically go into the office 3 days a week and do half days as I occasionally pet sit or care for foster animals. Happy to talk about arrangements or flexibility! We do not have any permanent resident pets in our home, just the occasional fosters. We do crate when away from home, but pets have full roaming capabilities when we’re home. If I come to your home I’m happy to abide by any rules or routines you prefer!
“She did an amazing job at making me and Biggie feel comfortable. She was very loving with Biggie and frequently sent pictures updating his stay and showing how he was settling in. I would definitely recommend”

“Qua’Dal is a great sitter! We have a Belgian Malinois and he can be VERY hyper and energetic. Qua’Dal is great with exercising him and making him feel at home while we’re away! Would highly recommend”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Joshua
Alyssa was amazing! She was communicative, kind, and overall a pleasure to deal with! This was my first time using the Rover app. I was looking for someone that I could trust with my dog Jeff. From the get-go, I was confident I found the right person. She sent me daily pics an update updates. She even filmed the reunion when I picked him up after almost a month! 10 out of 10 would recommend Alyssa!

If I could give a 10 out of 5, I would! They were the best hosts ever! Our dogs were so happy with them. One of our dogs has social anxiety and she went right up to both of them like she had known them forever. You can totally tell these are dog people through and through. There are not enough words of praise for the two wonderful people!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
