“Lucyna did an amazing job with taking care of our Milo. She kept us updated and accommodated us with our special requests. We will definitely use her services again.”

“Thanks for providing such good care of my baby. I especially enjoyed the many photo updates you sent us. I was nervous, as this was the first time he stayed with a stranger and other dogs, but you made us feel comfortable with the updates. I felt that my Coco was well taken care of and definitely recommend you to others.”

“We had a great experience! Lisa took such good care of our pup and kept us updated with daily photos and messages. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well-loved. Highly recommend and will definitely book again!”

“We left our golden retriever and pug with Jennifer for about a week and we're well taken care of. She sent photos of the dog's and any updates. She is very accommodating. Will definitely use her services again.”

“Samantha and Ryan were awesome! They send great pics/updates of my dog and he seemed to be having a fun time. I was a little worried about him since I rescued him not too long ago and he’s still getting adjusted, but they took good care of him and seemed to be patient. I was out of town and actually ended up having to stay an extra night, but Samantha was super flexible with it and didn’t mind watching Biggie for that extra day. I would definitely recommend them to watch your pups. If I ever need a sitter again they are who I will go to.”
“We left for a long extended vacation of 5 weeks. Sheila took great care of our Norwegian Elkhound, Bailey. We had not left Bailey for long periods before so we were started out stressing, but Sheila sent us weekly videos to show us how well Bailey was doing. We will be going away again in the spring and Sheila will be who we will connect with to take Bailey again.”

“This was our first time using a new boarder in many years, and Nancy put any anxieties to rest by sending us daily pictures and videos. I’m not sure our Ruby wanted to come home she was having so much fun!”

“It was our first time with Jill, and we felt so comfortable leaving our dog with Jill. She's got a great environment for dogs (big yard for thier freedom and dog room), and our dog was nicely introduced to her dogs (to make sure there was no conflict). We definitely will be using her service in the future! Thank you so much!”

“Our experience with Naomi was no less than worry-free, reassuring, and comfortable. We were constantly updated with pictures and videos. Based on the updates, Blue seemed very happy and comfortable for the duration of her stay. We will be using Naomi again.”

“My pup warmed up to Melinda very quickly. This was her first time staying at someone’s house while we were gone and from the photos and videos she has a GREAT time. She even come home with a new toy! Thank you Melinda- Neli will be back!”

“My dogs love their time with Anntionete and we're at ease when she's their sitter. She always keeps you informed with pictures and text and we really appreciate it. She's very experienced with dogs and we will continue to use her for future boarding needs.”

“Sierra took such great care of our babies! She sent pictures the entire time and constantly kept us updated on every that was going on! She was as extremely helpful and super sweet! I will definitely be booking her for future trips!!!”

“OMG!! Aimee is the BEST!! This is the 2nd time we have had to leave our Zeus with someone, other than my parents, so we were nervous, but Aimee took all of our fears away. She sent personalized collages, photos, videos, and notes throughout his stay to keep us informed. I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone to not only look after their fur baby while they are away but also someone to care for your fur baby like he/she is her own! I look forward to having Zeus be a part of her family the next time we are away. Thank you so much Aimee ❤️”

“We left Suky with them for six days. They were very kind, welcomed us warmly, and always kept us updated about Suky. She truly had a great time with them. They took good care of her, and she adapted well. When we came back for her, Suky was happy they really gave her excellent and content care and attention. It's definitely worth it.”

“2nd time using Stephanie. She’s really good and my dog Penny really likes her. I feel very comfortable leaving Penny with her because you can tell that Stephanie loves dogs and has a kind heart!”

“Kathya es la mejor persona en la Que tú puedes confiar para dejar a tu Perrito, volvería a dejarlo sin pensarlo con ella. Nunca habíamos dejado a choco con nadie y ella hizo que las cosas fueran más que fáciles, todo el tiempo nos mando fotos y videos de Choco. Kathya you are the best, thanks for everything ?”

“Luis is great with dogs...and their human conterpart. I have large breed. She has separation anxiety. The first time I left her -back in June- she was panicked about my leaving. However, when I picked her up two days later, I was talking to Luis in the backyard and she was so super relaxed, running around his amazing property having a good time. This last time (November) she didn't panick so much about my lvg. He was honest & open that she showed signs of intial separation anxiety when I first was leaving, but quickly acclimated to having a relaxing time. When I picked her up this time, again while we spoke she was running off to the far back, like she wasn't even bothered if I was leaving. She really likes Luis and his place... as do I -her human ((; ChristaRuth. I'll be going to the area abt once a month now, and will use his great service. So many ppl don't know how to manage dogs. He is not one. Thanks again Luis!”

“Lisa was so nice, welcoming and flexible. Not just her but her hubby and 3 dogs plus cat. I had an international trip that was planned and my original dog-sitter had a family emergency and had to cancel. Lisa stepped in last minute w/no issues. She opened her home for a meet/greet w/her dogs and hubby. I was allowed to look around and Luna was allowed to sniff and feel her way both inside and outside. She has a big yard for much olay time and open layout. My Punta Cana trip was then extended by 4 days due to weather and Lisa did not blink an eye on keeping Luna for an additional 4 days. Not only that but our flight then was delayed 4 additional times on our updated flight and once again, she was very nice and understanding. For myself, I was frustrated and didn't want her to feel unpleasant about it but she gave me the opposite feeling. Please book her. She's a definite recommendation. Her and her family (all) are very welcoming and dog friendly. She welcomed Luna back and I'm glad for that. Luna made a friend with her little one Teddy.”

“Meghan & John treats Rocko as if he were their own. I couldn’t ask for my pup to be in better care. They are absolutely AMAZING and communicative. I don’t trust Rocko with anyone else!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
