“Emma was great! She came to our house a few days early to meet Bo and she was so friendly. She arrived on time and took good care of Bo and our home. We will be requesting Emma again and highly recommend her.”

“Laura is a friendly, dependable, dog loving sitter. She stayed at our house while we were away and cared for our three dogs who all eat differently and take medication. We could tell when she met them that she would love them like we do. And when we returned they were happy and not traumatized. We highly recommend Laura.”
“Amber was so proactive and attentive with our senior baby Maya!! Our girl usually struggles to warm up to strangers, but she made fast friends with Amber. We also received tons of pictures and videos while on a trip out of town. We'll be in touch again soon - thank you so much!!”

“Amanda takes wonderful care of our three dogs, including two who require medications. Our dogs absolutely love and trust her, and we always feel comfortable knowing they’re in good hands. She keeps their food and water full, sends daily updates and pictures, and is always respectful of our home. We highly recommend Amanda to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter!!”

“He was great with Jaime! She was so excited to have him over with her all week. He helped her calm down and taught her to take it easy. She took to him so well and all the pictures were so cute. We’re going to use him the next time we go out of town.”

“Claudia is absolutely fantastic! She stayed with my two dogs while we were out of town for 4 days. Each morning and evening she sent an update on how everything was going. She sent photos and in the evening a cute video recap! One of our dogs is a senior who is not eating every meal any more, and Claudia was great at monitoring how much he ate and even took his food bowl upstairs to him to encourage him to eat when he needed to. Our house looked great when we came home as well. Claudia is an amazing pet and house sitter and I absolutely recommend her! Thank you Claudia!”

“Ty provided exceptional care for our dogs, demonstrating genuine love and understanding of their needs. His regular updates and photos helped ease our worries while we were away. Knowing that both our high-energy and reactive dogs were well cared for and enjoyed their time with him is invaluable. Will definitely be booking with Ty again!”

“Desree was fantastic with our 2 labs. Both pups loved her from the first meeting. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing they were in good hands. We will definitely be rebooking in the future.”

“Destini was so great! She took good care of our pups while we were out and stayed in touch with us. No doubt they were a bit trying at times but she handled it like a pro! Definitely recommend!”

“Ms Nita is absolutely amazing. Time and time again she proves how much she cares for my pitties. She doesn’t just watch them, she plays and interacts with them and she goes out of her way to make sure they have a good time. She always leaves my home each time better than she finds it. I found a forever pet sitter with her ❤️”
“Lilli was super sweet, listened to all our many requests, and our pups loved her! We booked somewhat last minute because of a day trip, and she made us feel very comfortable with leaving our pups in her care. Will book again! Thank you Lilli!”

About: My husband Justin and I have been married since 2018 and we have 3 fur babies. We welcomed our first child in March 2021. We love training, caring for, and loving on animals. Justin is a 5th grade teacher and Lauren works from home full time with an educational technology company. We would love to care for your fur baby like our own. Because Lauren works from home you pup can come in and out of the house all day and enjoy some indoor and outdoor playtime! We have 2 rescue dogs and one rescue cat who we love! Our cat has a home in the office with a baby gate up. No need to worry if your dog is not comfortable with cats, she can stay in the office with her cat tree and all the things she needs. she doesn't venture out from there much anyways. We would be happy to bring your fur babies into our house or stop in for playtime or a walk! Just let me know what your needs are and we will accommodate in anyway! I also have experience house training, and walk training puppies. We just request your fur baby is not aggressive as we have other animals and a small child in the house! I look forward to meeting you, and caring for your fur baby. I currently work from home, so I am able to let the dogs out as often as needed for potty breaks or playtime. This also means they get love all throughout the day! My husband is a school teacher so he is at work during the week. We enjoy taking family walks in the evening after a days work. When your fur baby is in our house we treat them as our own. We have a animal friendly home, allow pets on furniture, and have lots of toys to play with. We have water bowls and dog beds throughout the house. The dogs also love going in the backyard to play with us and run around. We just ask you bring the dogs food and feeding instructions. You are welcome to bring beds or anything your fur baby needs to feel comfortable, but not required. We have lots of beds, bowls, toys, etc. We do have a child born in 2021. She is very good with animals, respects their space, and knows how to approach new animals. She loves playing with them and loving on them while they are in our house. Please if you are unsure or aware your dog is not good with children, please identify an alternate sitter. Although our daughter is very good with dogs/animals, we want to ensure a good experience for both our family and your fur baby.
About: I don’t just take care of the family furry paw members. I watch over the whole house. I make sure everything is taken care of while they are away. They are my first priority and my last when I’m helping someone else out. I take care of them before leaving for work and visit them when I return from work. It also depends if I’m staying at the house or just making stops in between the days. I have a fenced yard with a patio that is separate from the grass area. I have a doggy door so they can go in and out if they know how to use one. If not they learn while I have them in my care. My fur babies love playing with other dogs. If I’m at the clients home, they get lots of love and attention. I make sure they get their playing time in multiple times a day before bed time. If it’s not to hot I do try to squeeze a walk in even if it’s a small one.
About: Hi there! My name is Lauren. Some helpful things to know about me is that I have 5+ years experience in animal care. I've worked at animal shelters and as a manager at a pet daycare/boarding facility, I also have done pet sitting and dog walking on my own in the past. I've recently moved to the area and want to continue working with animals. I am responsible, reliable and will treat your pets as if they were my own. I love to send lots of updates and pictures so you know your pets are well taken care of. I have just recently moved to Alvarado and left my job at Operation Kindness Humane Society because the commute would of been too long. So my schedule is very open as of right now while I look for another job. I have a large yard, however it is not fully fenced. If you'd like for your pup to come to my house I would walk them to go potty. I also have 2 dogs that are dog friendly so if your pup likes to play they will get along great. My dogs are fully vaccinated and up to date all all shots and preventions. For your baby to stay with me I would need to see vaccination records, just to make sure everyone is safe and healthy. If you'd prefer me to pet sit at your home I am more than happy to do that as well and stay consistent with the daily routine you have with your animals. This is usually my preferred way, as it is less stressful for your animals to be in a familiar environment.
About: Being a country girl, I have pet sit anything from dogs to indoor pot belly pigs to even donkeys. I've had dogs my entire life (4 of my own currently) and love to make your worry less while away. I love to send pictures and videos so you can see first hand how much love they are receiving when you are away. If you have animals besides cats and dogs, I would love to help with them as well. I work part time for a local retailer and prefer to be with animals so, I can almost always move my schedule around to accommodate except the time line that I need to get in the school line for my kids I only pet sit in your home as I have 5 very spoiled dogs on my own. I do bring my 5 old and 9 year old with me if I can to help play ball and show your pups (or fellow animals as much affection as they need while you are away.

“We are extremely satisfied with Lori’s services. After being away for 9 to 10 days, we returned to find our dogs in excellent health and spirits, clearly well cared for during our absence. The regular updates, including pictures and videos, significantly alleviated our concerns. We are certainly planning to use her again and have already arranged for her to housesit during our upcoming vacation.”

About: Growing up on a ranch, I was responsible for the daily care of dogs, cats, horses, goats, and cattle, which helped me develop strong animal-handling skills, patience, and an understanding of animal behavior. Animals have always been part of my everyday life. I focus on providing quality care and attention to your furry friends. Pet care is a natural part of my routine alongside my equine farrier apprenticeship. Although my schedule may change from week to week, I carefully manage my availability and only take on bookings where I can give each pet my full attention and priority. I am committed to following each client’s instructions and routine, and to being respectful, careful, and safe while caring for your pet in your home.

Here’s a polished review you can post: This was our second time using Amber, and I felt just as comfortable as the first time having her not only in our home but also caring for our little spoiled herd. She is trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely cares about our dogs. She always keeps us updated with photos, which gives us so much peace of mind while we’re away. It’s clear our pups are happy and well cared for, and knowing they’re in such good hands makes traveling so much easier. We wouldn’t hesitate to book Amber again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dependable pet sitter!

Amber was amazing! She took great care of our dogs during our trip. She was always communicating and sending pictures. I could tell she took the time to make sure she provided them with the care and love that we give our dogs daily. She was incredibly sweet and even went out of her way to make sure the dogs were loved on and taken care of when our flight was delayed 4 hours. We came home to a clean house that smelled so good, which was wonderful after traveling all day. I highly recommend her and will rebook with her in the future.

Amber was absolutely fantastic! She took care of our dogs and cat while also house sitting, and the entire experience was incredibly smooth and stress-free. She kept us updated daily with photos and messages, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. When we returned, our home was spotless, and our pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s not always easy to leave your pets behind, but Amber made it effortless. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will absolutely be booking with her again. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Venus on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 2,040 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Venus. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Venus walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Venus maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Venus choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Venus. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
