“Oh my goodness! This was the most perfect family for my little Hannah! Last minute changes brought me to Rover to care for my 12.5 yo rescue Yorkie terrier mix for 5 days while I traveled. This was my first time using Rover. After logging in, a photo of Aish's family popped up and it was an immediate "YES". Such a happy and relaxed family. We did some messaging, had a Meet and Great within about 48 hours. Her stay went so well! A fenced-in yard, a doggy friend, a little person friend, and a lovely couple. They were so great about sending me photos throughout my entire trip. I highly recommend this loving family to care for your 4-legged family member!”

“Our dog Rio had a BLAST with Rachelle and Dan. They were very detailed oriented when it came to Rio’s special needs. They also sent the perfect amount of updates and pictures throughout the stay. Definitely will book again!”

“Our family trust Shelley with both doodles over extended periods of time and she consistently provides them with attention, exercise, and care. The dogs love going back to her. Highly recommended for extended stays!”

“Bethany and family were so wonderful to our "little old lady" dog, Bailey. Sent updates with pictures to make sure we knew she was well! Would use her again and highly recommend!”

“Thank you again for including Teddy in your home and being flexible when Mother Nature changes our plans! He loves staying with you and we can relax and enjoy our vacation knowing he is safe and happy.”

“Peg and Greg were wonderful to work with! They were patient with Emmy while she settled in and were very communicative through out Emmy's stay. Thank you so much for taking good care of our fur baby!”

“Jana provided a loving and caring home for my dog while I was away. I appreciated her updates and photos. It was great for my dog to have so much affection and attention, not to mention a large fenced in yard to run around in. I highly recommend Jana!”

“Lonnie and Steven were extremely welcoming and communicative during my dog Lucy's 1 week boarding stay. Lucy can be a little nervous, has anxiety around other dogs, and is picky eater, but they handled these challenges very well. I especially enjoyed getting pictures of her sitting with them on the couch and hanging out with them on the deck. They treated her like family. I highly recommend Lonni & Steven and would not hesitate to book with them again!”

“Leslie provided great care for my dog! She was very communicative and ensured we were on the same page. She also sent many pictures of my pet during our short stay which was highly appreciated. I will be booking with her again soon!”

“Thank you, Sylvia for taking care of my rescue dog, Sylvie! Sylvia was very open to work with my dog who can be reactive at times. She sent me a short daily update with photo for every day my dog was with her; she did well at Sylvia's house in the calm environment!”

“John and Gretchen did an amazing job taking care of Ginger! They gave her so much love and attention, along with frequent walks and fun outings. She settled right in at their home and was treated like family. We received daily updates with photos and could relax and enjoy our vacation knowing she was in their excellent care. Highest recommendation and 5 stars! Will definitely be booking again next time we travel.”

About: I’ve had dogs of my own over the years and have raised them from puppies, so I’m very familiar with all stages of a dog’s life from training and high-energy puppy behavior to the needs of adult and senior dogs. I’ve also personally fostered two daschund dogs for several years while a friend went through a difficult transition, caring for them full-time until she was able to find pet-friendly housing. That experience really deepened my understanding of long-term, committed pet care. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and breeds from larger dogs like Boxers to small breeds like Boston Terriers, Dachshunds, and Yorkies. I truly love them all and adjust my care based on each dog’s personality, energy level, and needs. Whether it’s playtime, walks, or just companionship, I focus on making sure every pet feels safe, loved, and comfortable while their owners are away. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine since I work from home Monday–Friday, which gives me flexibility for walks, feedings, potty breaks, and playtime throughout the day. My availability is open, and I’m also available most weekends. At my home, I provide a safe, family-friendly environment where pets are cared for like part of the family. I have a 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy, so I always ensure interactions are supervised and safe for both the pets and children. I follow each pet’s normal routine and make sure they feel comfortable, secure, and well cared for while staying in my home.
“Great communication and flexibility from Alecia and Todd. They treated my little girl like one of their own. My mind was totally at ease. Can't wait til next time!”

“Stephanie took such great care of my new 9 week old puppy, Ivy! As a new dog mom, it was very comforting to know my puppy was well cared for! Stephanie had great communication and sent me pictures of Ivy throughout the evening. It was a very short notice request and she was very flexible with booking. I highly recommend Stephanie!”

“Thank you for keeping Hinkley safe and caring for him so well!! We’re happy to have him back but we were at ease on our trip know he was receiving great care from a loving family! <3”

“Mo had a wonderful time at Camp Stacey. The communication was outstanding -- keeping me well informed and feeling that he was well taken care of. We will definitely use Stacey again!!!”

“Julie and Ben were great! We needed a sitter on short notice, and they were quick to accommodate! Our dogs looked like they had a great time. We will definitely consider them for future needs!”

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
