“Jennifer and her family took awesome care of our puppy (a 3 month old Dachshund). It is apparent from the second you meet Jennifer that she is a lover of all furry creatures and we felt immediately at ease. While we were away, Jennifer sent frequent pictures and updates of our puppy and his activities so we knew what he was up to and that he was being loved and cared for. We feel lucky to have found Jennifer - 11/10!!”

“Kate was wonderful with our dog, Winnie! She and Dan treated her like she was one of their own! Her first time ever being left with someone else was for boarding for a week and she came back happy and healthy! Kate listened patiently to any of my worries and sent me pictures and videos every day that reassured us and warmed our hearts! We would most definitely use her again!j”

“Mary’s very communicative and seemed really nice. I received pictures of Jaxx daily and he seemed to have a good time staying with her. I definitely recommend and will be asking her to watch Jaxx in the future.”

“They took great care of our two Dobermans! We got lots of pics, videos, and correspondence. They have a huge backyard where they got plenty of exercise. Bodhi and Haumea looked very happy when we picked them up. We will definitely use them in the future.”

“Kathy was great and so accommodating. We felt really comfortable leaving our puppy in her care for an extended trip. She kept us updated and sent us pictures. We would definitely recommend her services.”

“Hiring Dana to dogsit Buster was the best decision. We usually board him at the vet, but wanted a change so that he would have a more social, active and fun experience. Dana was thoughtful, caring, communicative and flexible throughout the entire process (from booking to pickup). She took excellent care of Buster with specific attention to our requests. She sent us many wonderful photos of his daily activities, which included several nature and park walks. Buster had his own little vacation exploring new places while we enjoyed ours in complete peace of mind. We happily give Dana the highest praise and rating with respect to our experience with her. She is a true animal lover and a nice person.”

“Samantha was great! Very knowledgeable about dogs. She sent me a picture of her daughter reading Milo a book. Adorable! She kept me updated about Milo and informed me of a health condition with Milo. Very much appreciated!”

“Great experience. Wilbur seemed very happy and got along with Rocky. I especially appreciate that Andrew & Jacklynn had to care for Wilbur during the coldest spell this winter! I appreciate the extra effort in sending pictures & posts, especially for a 1st booking. So glad we found them and have confidence for subsequent bookings.”

“Yuiko is the best! My dog is very anxious little chiwawa She is understanding and takes excellent care of our furry baby when we are long away. She provides updates and pictures, giving us peace of mind knowing our little guy is enjoying his time. I was worry free during the trip because of Yuiko. I highly recommend Yuiko .We are so grateful we found her!!”

“ My wife and I have used several sitters for our dog Bentley through the years and by far and away, Olive is the best! It's very evident that Olive not only has a love for animals, but a thorough understanding of them as well. Like the pro that she is, she quickly acquainted our dog to her home and definitely reduced his stress level....which usually comes with adapting to new surroundings. Olive also sent regular progress updates which we really appreciated! We highly recommend Olive (and her charming family) and will definitely being utilizing her services again in the future! ”

“Mike and Lorraine took such great care of Van while we were away! We were nervous using Rover for the first time and they really put us at ease. We loved the picture updates and kind feedback throughout the stay. Will definitely hope to book with them for future trips.”

“Katherine was amazing! Her home is pet friendly and impeccably clean. My puppy was spoiled by both her and having a fenced backyard to sun bathe in. She provided routine updates and pictures, and was flexible on the drop off and pick up times. I felt my puppy was well cared for during her stay. I would highly recommend her for future sitting.”

“Darlene and Alan were fantastic! Our sweet Gordy is 11 1/2 years old and gets anxious when we leave him. Darlene and Alan treated him like their own and took great care of him. I never worried about Gordy and would highly recommend. I will definitely use them again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Ivyland
Ryan watched our girl for 12 days while we were away. We appreciated the daily pictures he sent us and that he let us know how she was doing. Our girl must have been nervous because she had accidents while we were away, which is unlike her. She wore her reusable diapers from then on, which was less than ideal. However, given the circumstances it’s understandable, and she appeared safe, which is what mattered most to us while we were away.

We had such a wonderful experience with Kate! She is reliable and communicative. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dog was in such caring and capable hands. She kept us updated with messages and photos. It made being away so much easier. Our dog even became besties with one of her dogs lol. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate dog sitter!

Kate and her family were amazing!! She took the time to read over my dogs profile, ask questions, and make me feel at ease as this was my 1st time using Rover. I even felt comfortable enough to let them take my pup to their mountain house which my girl loved! She communicates daily with updates, pictures, and any questions. She didn’t flinch when I over prepared for my dogs stay which I appreciate a lot! Her entire family is warm and welcoming and her house reflects this as well. She’s also no stranger to taking care of any needs as they arise since she’s a Superhost on Airbnb! All positive things and nothing negative to say at all. We had a great vacation with no worries about our pup. We have found our forever pet sitter for as long as she continues to do it. Thanks so much again Kate for opening your home to our sweet girl-we’ll see you again soon! Noel & Mia~

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
