“Amy was fantastic - we instantly felt comfortable with her husband and her (and, more importantly, so did the dog!). She was very detail oriented, sent pictures throughout Champ's short stay and made sure Champ got plenty of exercise. I also appreciated her policy not to take multiple dogs at once. We will definitely be repeating with Amy - the whole experience was great!”

“My one year old large breed dog, Simba, just loves Hardy. He gets excited to run into his house whenever I drop him off. I have used Hardy several times and once for 12 days when I went on a cruise. I know that he is in good care and I can enjoy myself. His daughter is also so sweet and helpful too!”

“So glad I used Rover and found Junior. Junior was absolutely amazing. They send multiple pictures and videos. They made me feel at ease and gave me peace of mind leaving my puppy with someone I didn’t know. I would recommend Junior to everyone. Thank you Junior for your superior pet sitting.”

“Gabriela was awesome! I really appreciate the updates she provided and relayed concerns in regard to Milo. Milo is a tri-pod senior dog who requires patience and a lot of care and Gabriela delivered at 110%! This is the 1st time a left Milo with someone other than family and Gabriela now is a part of that circle. I will definitely use Gabriela again!”

“Kate was an absolute pleasure. She sent us updates including photos and videos throughout the trip and she was flexible, extremely helpful and communicative. We highly recommend Kate and will definitely work with her again for our next trip!!”

“Opal and Ollie had a great boarding experience with Jennifer and her family. I’ve already rebooked with her for their next boarding. I highly recommend Jennifer!”

“Melissa and Dan are the best. They’ve watched both of our dogs on several occasions and are always amazing with them. They are our “go-to” sitters. Highly recommend.”

“Angela & Michael were very understanding, caring, and went beyond the expected on trying to make sure our dog will be comfortable and happy while under their care. Ours is a very sensitive dog, very attached to us and pretty sure he suffers of separation anxiety, so he was very stressed and sad the first day, he even acted aggressively for the first time to other people, but they were very understanding of his situation and emotions and by the next morning he was himself again, the whole family interacted with ShiZhu and made him feel at home, loved and well cared.”

“Hands down, the best dog sitter/care taker! This was my family's first time having to board our puppy Lilly, and Joseph could not have made me feel more at ease when it came to leaving my dog with him. The entire booking process was quick, and Joseph was very patient, professional, and sufficient. Joseph knows his stuff when it comes to dogs!, he trained my dog to interact with two other dogs he was also boarding at the time. Thank you Joseph, we really appreciate you!”

“Mary’s very communicative and seemed really nice. I received pictures of Jaxx daily and he seemed to have a good time staying with her. I definitely recommend and will be asking her to watch Jaxx in the future.”

“Molly was very responsive and sent us pictures of our Dax! She took the time to meet with us before sitting Dax, so she could get to know his habits. Dax had a great time at her place!”

“Maryori was the perfect choice for our fur baby Bentley. She was very warm and welcoming, and she made our boy feel right at home. He spent his birthday with her and she went out of her way to buy him a few gifts and treats which we appreciated very much! I will definitely book her again.”

“This was my first time using Rover, and I am grateful that Lincy was available. I received daily updates and never once was worried whether Blue was ok. She gave me great confidence in using Rover again :)”

“I can’t rave enough about Janet; she does such a good job with Milo. She is so thoughtful and considerate. She sends pictures and updates and makes me feel at ease.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Southampton
Joe and Bonnie were wonderful caregivers to my dog Lulu. She has never stayed away from me before and they sent me pictures of her playing and being loved by them. I felt I could relax and not worry about her. They are very special people. I will definitely ask them to take her again.

Excellent sitter. Our dog is a senior (15 years old Shiba Inu), who doesn’t really have much hearing or sight left plus doggie dementia. Most times she just wants to naps or be left alone, and a really great appetite. It’s extremely hard to find a sitter that knows how to identify what works for her regardless of how much notes we write. Jia is experienced, intuitive, and great communicator. She was able to gauge what our dog style was pretty early on. Can’t recommend her and her family enough.

My Jack Russell was very, very well cared for and loved at Evgenia’s home. He takes medication and can be a bit challenging in new environments and his needs were met with ease. Their home is welcoming to dogs and they were very responsive and flexible when my flight was delayed. Sushi stayed for 5 days and I didn’t worry at all. Couldn’t be happier with Evgenia and family!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
