About: Hello! My name is Ashley, and I recently moved to the beautiful city of Oakland and am offering my pet sitting services again! Over the years, I’ve had the joy of providing pet sitting in Hawaii, Washington, D.C., San Francisco, Seattle, and Chicago. I provide both dog and cat sitting, and I’ve had a love for animals since I was young. I first started offering pet sitting services while living in D.C. when I found myself without a furry friend of my own. Since then, I’ve gained experience caring for pets of all ages—from playful puppies and kittens to sweet seniors. I currently work a part-time schedule, which makes me flexible with availability and responsive to your needs. Communication is very important to me—I’ll always keep you updated and follow any specific care instructions you provide. As a pet parent myself, I completely understand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave your beloved companion in someone else’s care. That’s why I do everything I can to make both pets and their owners feel comfortable and at ease. Whether it’s enjoying long walks around Lake Merritt with dogs who love exercise, or curling up with a cat who just wants some company, I make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and cared for. My goal is simple: to give you peace of mind and make sure your pets are happy while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies! I am currently working a part-time schedule and can be very flexible with my availability, making it easy to work around your schedule and your pet’s needs. When walking dogs, I always make their safety my top priority—using secure leashes, keeping a close eye on surroundings, and making sure they get the right balance of exercise and care. I’m also very respectful of people’s homes, treating them with the same care I would my own. You can trust that your pet and your space will always be safe with me.

About: I’ve cared for pets my whole life and adopted my dog from a shelter in 2011 with a friend. Recently, I fostered (and adopted!) two black kittens who stole my heart. 🐶🐱 I’m reliable, flexible, and treat every pet like family—whether that means walks, playtime, cuddles, or special care. I can do overnights or drop-ins, and I have my own car, so getting to you is never a problem. Your pets will be safe, happy, and loved with me! ❤️ I’m available Friday evenings after 5 PM, all day Saturday, and Sundays until 3 PM—perfect for weekend getaways or a night out. I’m available Friday evenings after 5 PM, all day Saturday, and Sundays until 3 PM—perfect for weekend getaways or a night out. With my own car, getting to you is no problem, and you can count on me to keep tails wagging and paws happy! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their established routines to ensure consistency and comfort. This includes scheduled walks, feeding, refreshing water, playtime, and companionship. I treat every pet with the same care and respect I give my own, providing a safe, reliable, and loving environment.

About: I've had dogs and cats my whole life (plus horses, goats, cows, chickens, guinea pigs and hamsters). The last 20 years I have had Frenchies and English bulldogs. Along the way I have also had chihuahua's, Rottweilers, pits, cattle dogs, American bulldogs as well as a number of rescue cats. I've adopted many from shelters, however, several showed up on my porch and adopted me. I am currently available 24/7. I can watch dogs in your home or mine. I am available to walk them on a set schedule, which I do with my dog regularly. I currently have a French bulldog, our day consists of reward based training/walks, endless love, healthy treats, enrichment toys, and hikes. I would like to offer this to other pets as well. I am understanding of any dogs special needs or diets. We run a routine program as far as food, feeding time and exercise. I will only board your dog(s)/cat(s) along with mine. I do not double book as I want to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

“Was so glad it ended up being you that walked our Sam! Love the fact that you've walked him before with Wag and hope we get you to walk him again! He seemed so satisfied when we got home last night and usually he is bouncing off the walls trying to go pee, but he was just excited to see us last night instead. That tells us you walked him well!! Thanks Adam!”

About: I’ve lived around dogs and cats my entire life and have been the sole caretaker of my rescue Husky, Nyx, for the past two years now. I know firsthand the stresses of behavior issues, medications, and dietary restrictions. The stress when that routine that youve been cultivating for the past 3 months just isn’t working like its supposed to. As a sitter I recognize the importance of consistent small acts of love, play and enrichment to help regulate a furry friend’s nervous system. Whether that means an extra 10 minutes to smell the daisies, food based puzzles, incorporating treats into medication administration or playing fetch in a field, rest assured theyre in good hands. I’m currently working part-time in the evenings so I have availability during weekends, and the afternoons after 1pm. Overnight stays are an option for most weekend days and the beginning of the week. I will be balancing caring for my own pup with yours, but I do not plan on mixing the two. Your furry friend’s time is theirs and theirs alone. First impressions are big with humans, and theyre even bigger with animals. I know the value of sitting with them for a while and giving them the opportunity to smell and get a feel for the person theyre spending time with, especially when entering their home. During walks and activities I like to utilize treats and training cues to help maintain good communication on both sides of the leash. It’s very necessary in highly stimulating environments like the city of Oakland. Making sure they feel safe is my top priority!

About: I’ve been caring for and training dogs for years, and I love helping them feel safe, happy, and understood. One of my earliest challenges was with my parents’ high-energy dog — I successfully trained him not to bolt out the door when it opened 🚪🐕 (no small feat!). That experience taught me the power of patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement. 🐶 My Rescue Story I was the sole caregiver for my own rescue dog, who came to me fearful of strangers and unsure around other dogs. Over time, I: • Helped her grow comfortable meeting new people & pups 🤝 • Taught her not to jump on visitors 🙅♀️ • Trained her to “check in” with me before leaving for walks 🚶♀️ • Built her confidence to stay calm when home alone 💤 💛 Why Dogs Love Me Beyond training, I’m experienced with daily walks, feeding, grooming, playtime, and creating a safe, loving environment. I’m skilled at reading dog body language 🐕🦺 so I can keep pups comfortable and stress-free. I’m available on weekends, as well as Mondays and Fridays. I’m also happy to stay over on Monday nights, as long as you don’t need me to stay past 8am the following morning. When I care for pets in your home, I follow your instructions closely to keep their routine consistent. I make sure they have fresh water, regular meals, and plenty of exercise and playtime. I pay close attention to their body language and comfort level, so I can adapt my approach to their needs. I also give lots of affection (if they enjoy it!) and keep their environment clean and safe. You’ll get updates with photos so you know they’re happy and cared for while you’re away.

About: Hello! I've been pet-sitting professionally since September 2023 and have done walks, drop-in visits, and house-sitting for dogs and cats of various ages, sizes, temperaments, and medical needs. This includes caring for senior dogs who need mobility assistance and have a hard time hearing and seeing. I also volunteered at my local animal shelter during college, where I had weekly shifts walking, playing with, and socializing dogs in the shelter. Additionally, I have experience caring for my own pet rats, and others' rodents and reptiles (rabbit, guinea pigs, and bearded dragons). With clear instructions from you, I would love to care for any rodents, reptiles, amphibians, or birds as well! You can list these animals as "Cats" within your Rover profile. I have a 30 hour/week job in libraries and I work pet-care into my off-days, or before/after a work shift. I recently adopted my own cat, so I will mostly be offering drop-in visits and dog walks, but will be available for 1-3 night housesits. Let me know you and your pet's schedule and needs, and we can see if we're a good match! I like to get to know you and your pet before caring for them in order to make sure we’re a good fit (so, I do require a Meet & Greet before booking). Whether they're an energetic dog who will want a high energy walk, or a shy cat who might take some time getting used to a stranger, I want your pets to feel safe, cared for, and happy. Please note: I have a severe peanut allergy so if feeding your dog peanut butter or peanut treats is a big part of their routine, I won't be able to provide those foods, but if they can go without while in my care, that's okay!

“I met Sophia K. at the dog park and fell in love with her dog. I appreciated how she cared for her own puppy so much and how she engaged with mine that I just checked in the see if she provided services. Just my luck, she did! Sophia is so kind and gentle with my puppies especially since my little princess just lost the ability to walk with IVDD flares. Her communication is on point and her medicine administration is just the ticket. If you would like someone to care for your pup or puppers like they are their own, Sophia is the Rover for you. #specialneeds #medicationadministration”

Grace L.

“Grace is very trustworthy and dependable. I never have concerns leaving my fur babies (1 dog and 2 cats) in her care. She spends time just cuddling and playing with them above and beyond the essential duties of feeding, medicating, walking, and litter scooping. They clearly like to see her and so having her around makes that part of my leaving home completely stress-free. If an issue arises or she has a question/concern about their behavior or whatever she’s very reliable about reaching out via text or email. I have no reservations in recommending her as a pet sitter.”
