“Lauren was very helpful and flexible with availability. I would recommend to family and friends. Our old dog Indiana doesn't see or walk too well and Lauren was kind and patient. Thank you again.”

“Gerald was such a good communicator and so great with our Stella!! He made both her and us so comfortable during the few days he watched her. We got the cutest pictures :) I would recommend him to anyone!”

“Sandy was amazing! We had never used Rover before and had a great first experience. She met with us (and our cat) beforehand to discuss our needs. She gave us daily updates and was very responsive. Our cat had a great time with her! Can’t recommend enough.”

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 5 years old. That includes dogs, cats, lizards, snakes. I love them all. They love me. unfortunately, my apartment complex does not allow Pitbulls sorry I can cover most days and evening needs. I have the needed transportation to meet your needs. I am ready to help you any way I can. I can care for your pets needs in your home or my apartment. I am flexible in doing whatever is required to meet your needs
“Staff was a fantastic sitter and took great care of our two sphinx cats while we were on vacation. She kept in continual contact, administered medications when they were required, and spent extra time with our cats. It is clear that Steff enjoys the company of pets. She was punctual and went the extra mile when our plans were changed at short notice and beyond our control. We cannot recommend Steff highly enough.”

“Jamey visited my newly adopted senior cat three times a day for three days. She fed her, gave her medications, cleaned her litter box and kept her company. It’s so comforting to know that I can enjoy my little vacations while my cat is well cared for back at home.”

“Marianna was incredible! Loki was so well taken care of, and she sent tons of pictures and updates. I will 100% be booking with her again and would recommend her in a heartbeat.”

“Samatha really helped us in a last minute need! She was communicative, prompt, and thorough. Unfortunately our Bonnie had an accident in her excitement to meet her new friend and she was kind enough to clean it up while we were out too. Will definitely use Samantha to help out with Bonnie anytime we need!”

About: I volunteer with the organization that I adopted my pup from! I not only process applications for the organization, but I actively “babysit” pups overnight (sometimes 3 days at a time) for their fosters who occasionally are away on the weekends. I have the most experience with puppies and young adults, but also have watched older pups of my family members. I hope to give your pup a nice boop on the nose :) I am a full-time teacher on summer break! With my current schedule, I am available Sat, Sun, Tues, Thursday & Fridays! I look forward to discussing your needs for your pet! I have a 1y/o pup who is crate trained, friendly and loves to play with other dogs. She is my best friend! I’ve taken care of my boyfriend’s dog as she’s recovered from two separate TPLO surgeries. I’ve potty-trained and crate trained other pups from the rescue I volunteer with as I personally feel that’s the best way to make myself and you assured of your pets safety. My pup and I frequent the complex park multiple times daily and love a good car ride. A brief note of needs for your pet will ensure I care for them exactly how you do!
“Jess took care of my pup Leia while I was away for the day at a baseball game and sent me update photos each visit and some comments on how the visit went. Leia had a lot of fun. Will definitely use Jess again!”

“Hannah was fantastic! She came three times a day, was always reliable and trustworthy, and showed up even in bad weather. We have a large dog (over 100 lbs) and felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. We’ve used Hannah multiple times and never worry when we’re away. Highly recommend!”

I am currently free during the weekdays and weekends to board and care for your pet if needed. I have a fenced in backyard with my two dogs, Skittles and Pop-tart to keep your fur-baby company. About: We’ve been loving dog parents for over 25 years, and caring for animals has always been a huge part of our lives. After losing our beloved boy earlier this year, we’ve found ourselves missing the daily joy, snuggles, and companionship that come with having a pet. We’d love to share that love with your furry family member—giving them all the attention, affection, and care they deserve. Think of us as your pet’s extra set of grandparents: all the love, cuddles, and spoiling, with a calm, caring presence you can trust. I’m currently working but am winding down a 30+ year career as an educator. I’m available weekends and over the summer right now. My husband is semi-retired and is available Tuesdays and Thursdays all day. One or both of us are also available after 3 pm Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. We have a fenced yard and sadly no pets for your baby to play with. We have no children in the house either so your dog will be the only guest and will receive our undivided attention. We will only sit for 1 family at a time to ensure you the highest quality care.
About: I am a retired elementary school teacher and have taught children for the past 32 years. I’ve always loved animals, especially dogs, and am eager to care for them when they are alone. I am available throughout the day and for planned vacations. I’m retired and am available to go to your home and care for your dog. I don’t have a dog of my own anymore and am eager to play, care and walk your dog. I’m available to feed, walk and play with your dog. I’m happy to go to your home but also have a fenced in yard where your dog can run and play with me.

About: Dogs have been a massive part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I honestly can’t imagine life without them! I’m the proud go-to pup sitter for my friends and family whenever they need a hand. Whether I’m popping in to keep a friend’s dog company during a long workday or hosting a full-on doggy vacation while my family is away, I love every second of it. I know how much you miss your fur-baby when you're apart, so my goal is always to make them feel completely safe, loved, and thoroughly spoiled until you get back! Being a student gives me a super flexible schedule, making me highly available to look after your pup! I can easily plan my day around your dog's needs, ensuring they get their walks, meals, and playtime exactly on time I have a fenced in yard where they can run around and have so much fun and a SUPER friendly dog that would love to play until the sun comes up!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
