Trusted Care for Dogs & Cats

I’m a retired professional with a calm, patient nature and a genuine love for animals. My sister has two dogs, one of whom is a super senior with special needs, so I’m very comfortable providing extra attention, patience, and thoughtful care. With a flexible schedule and plenty of time to devote to one-on-one care, I enjoy creating a safe, comfortable, and loving environment for dogs and cats. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, medication routines, or quiet companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own—offering reliable care and true peace of mind to pet parents.

Gerald watched our dog in his home for 10 days, and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. Our dog can get anxious when he's away from home, but he was calm, comfortable, and clearly well cared for throughout his stay. Gerald took him on walks in the nearby park and provided excellent care. He was also a fantastic communicator, sending regular updates, photos, and videos that gave us peace of mind and made us feel connected while we were away. I would absolutely recommend Gerald to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog sitter. We'll definitely be booking with him again in the future!

Gerald did a great job with my senior foster, Pam. She deals with significant anxiety and back-leg pain, so I was nervous about leaving her in a new space with a stranger, but I had nothing to worry about. She settled in quickly and even felt comfortable enough to trick Gerald into getting off the couch so she could steal his spot. Although she’s usually reluctant to be active, she went on several walks with him. Gerald was also great about sending regular photos and updates, and very flexible when I ran late for pickup. Highly recommended for anyone with a senior or high-needs dog.

Very responsive, good communication. Flexible. Took good care of our 2 big dogs, one of whom is not easy and needs medication. Sent pictures, kept in touch. My dogs liked him : )) Nice person, can tell he's a dog lover which is nice! Will definitely use him again. Highly recommend.

Schedule

Pet care fits very naturally into my daily and weekly routine. As a retired professional, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to plan my day around a pet’s needs rather than the other way around. I’m home for most of the day, which means plenty of time for walks, play, feeding, medication schedules, and quiet companionship. I enjoy building consistent routines that help pets feel secure and comfortable, and I’m able to give them my full attention without feeling rushed. This flexibility also allows me to adapt easily to senior pets or those with special needs who may require extra time, patience, or monitoring.

Safety, trust & environment

I tailor my care to each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs—whether in my home or in a client’s home. I follow all feeding schedules carefully, provide fresh water, regular walks or playtime, and plenty of attention and companionship. I’m especially attentive to senior and special-needs pets, including administering medications as directed and keeping a calm, consistent environment. In a client’s home, I respect their routines and space, making sure pets feel secure and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. I also keep pet parents updated with check-ins and notes so they can feel confident their pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while they’re away.

A typical day

I like to keep pets happy, engaged, and comfortable by tailoring activities to their age, energy level, and personality. For dogs, that can include relaxed neighborhood walks, gentle playtime, enrichment games, and plenty of outdoor sniffing time. For cats, I enjoy interactive play, brushing, window watching, and quiet companionship. I’m especially mindful with senior and special-needs pets, focusing on calm, low-stress activities, extra cuddle time, and routines that make them feel safe and secure. Whether it’s play, enrichment, or simply being a steady presence, my goal is always to make pets feel loved and content while their owners are away.

It’s important for me to know a pet’s daily routine, feeding schedule, and any medical needs or medications ahead of time. I also like to understand their personality, energy level, likes and dislikes, and any behavioral quirks or anxieties so I can care for them in a way that feels familiar and comfortable. For dogs, it’s helpful to know leash habits, walking preferences, and how they interact with other animals or people. For cats, I appreciate knowing about litter routines, hiding spots, and how they prefer to be handled. Any emergency contacts, vet information, and special instructions are always welcome, as my goal is to provide the safest, most attentive care possible.
