“JoAnne is the best! She provided updates and pictures throughout the stay. Ralph had a blast with the whole family and was spoiled with Hunny play time and snuggles. We will continue to come back to JoAnne as long as she provides the service. Thank you!”

“Carla helped took care of my dog for a month. She is very accommodating and helpful if you need anything. We missed our dog very much so it was nice to see all the pics and videos that Carla sent everyday and know that our dog was in good care Thank you Carla!”

About: My husband I both grew up with golden retrievers and have a soft spot for them. When I was first out on my own and bought my first home, I rescued a pit bull and she was with me until she passed. My husband, sons and I are all dog lovers and would love to welcome your dog into our home. My husband is home full time and I work from home and we are anxious to care for your pet! We have 2 sons - ages 6 and 10, so kid-friendly dogs are a must. We are available any day of the week at any time, unless we have something specific planned (which is not often). Please feel free to ask about specific dates and times and I will be sure to add you to my calendar! My husband is home full time and I work from home so we have ample amounts of time to care for your pet. My 2 sons LOVE dogs and love to play and take dogs on walks. Our yard is unfenced, per our HOA rules so your pet will always be on a leash for potty breaks and walks around the neighborhood. Pets are free to explore the entire home and will not be crated or gated, unless a crate is provided and requested.
“This was Remy’s first stay with Anays & Francis and she seemed to be immediately comfortable with them! I know she really enjoyed playing fetch in their fenced-in backyard. I’m so grateful for the amount of photos that I received during Remy’s 5 day stay. It was so comforting to be able to see how she was settling in. Would definitely recommend Anays & Francis to anyone who needs a sitter!!”

“Gage was an awesome sitter during our two week stay in California. I was a bit nervous to leave Kannon for two weeks, but leaving him with Gage put my mind at ease. Gage was flexible with pick- up and drop-off times, making the experience much easier for me. He sent messages and pictures daily without me asking , which I appreciate. I have used several sitters and Gage is the best by far! The constant communication put my mind at ease and I’ll definitely recommend Gage to anyone who wants a sitter to care for their dog like his own. I can’t rave enough about Gage and I’ll definitely request his services again in the near future!”

“Dickson was absolutely wonderful with Charlie! He sent frequent videos and photo updates, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. Charlie is 12 years old and diabetic, she stayed on her eating schedule and received her insulin shots on time — Dickson handled everything perfectly and with such care. I felt completely comfortable knowing she was safe, happy, and enjoying time playing in his fenced backyard. You can truly tell he loves animals and treats them like family. This was such a great experience, and I will absolutely have Charlie stay with him any time. Highly recommend Dickson to any friends or family looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!!”

“Elizabeth took such great care of our Brixton while my husband and I were away for our wedding! We’re always nervous leaving Brixton with anyone because he's epileptic and requires daily meds at specific times but Elizabeth went above and beyond to understand his condition and ask questions. Her attention to detail and love of pups gave us so much peace of mind. We also loved her daily updates and photos. Would highly recommend booking with her!”

About: In addition to my own dogs, I have also owned cats of my own in the past, giving me years of firsthand experience with feline care. This personal background fits perfectly with the routine care I provide for my sister’s animals whenever she goes on vacation four times a year. I take complete charge of her four dogs—three Miniature Pomeranians and a Goldendoodle—and have even cared for their puppies in my home on two separate occasions while she was out of town. My responsibilities for her also include looking after her cats, ensuring they are properly fed, and keeping their litter boxes clean. This extensive, hands-on experience with multi-pet households, puppies, and feline care has made me highly adept at maintaining safety, routines, and a nurturing environment for animals of all ages and types. I'm pretty open as I'm a special education teacher and off in the summer. I have free time and I'm flexible. I would love to make extra money doing what I love. I care for them as I would my own children. We are all in the same area as a family. Pets are free to roam the house and I have a fenced in yard.
“Repeat customer. Diane takes great care of our Princess and we are very happy with her dog sitter services. We can travel with peace of mind knowing our dog is being well cared for by Diane.”

“Mabel just loves Norm and Mary. She was able to get tons of exercise. As we live in the UP and still haves tons of snow. Thank you so very much for taking such great care of Mabel.”

“Elisa was absolutely wonderful with our little Zeke. He had a great time and became great friends with Fiona. Will definitely reach out to Elisa for future stays. She is so nice and took such great care - truly an animal lover! Thanks so much!!”

“Tony was great with Archie. He sent photos and videos which I really liked to see. Archie looked like he really enjoyed himself. Would highly recommend Tony. Thanks again for having Archie in your home”

“Kathy was so good staying in touch with how our dogs, Louie and Oliver were doing. Plenty of pictures too. Great communication. We will definitely ask Kathy to take care of our pups in the future!”

“Deanne watched our baby during our 2 weeks in Ireland. She sent daily pictures and reassuring updates about how his day was going. She's super accommodating about pickup and drop-off times, and Taisho always sleeps the entire way home, a sign of a happy, tired puppy. He's on the smaller side and not wild about being around larger dogs, so she always makes sure he gets plenty of attention and a spot on a chair up above the craziness. Deanne's the best! I've used her for overnights and longer visits like this one - she's always been great. I'm actually on Rover to book another stay!”
About: I've been taking care of animals since I was 14, and they are part of my love language! I've taken care of and have had a wide variety of pets, dog sizes, and different medical needs. Part of my life's calling is to be with animals and give them all the love. We live on a 7-acre farmette, with land to roam and play, and forest as well. **Stella is AMAZING!!!** We couldn’t be happier with the care she provided for our pup. He gets so excited when we drop him off, which says everything about how comfortable and happy he is with her. Stella is incredibly accommodating and takes the time to learn everything about your dog — feeding schedule, playtime, routines, and all the little details that make them feel at home. Our dog gets stressed in new situations and sometimes has accidents, so she recommended some great disposable male wraps that worked perfectly. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. This was the longest he has ever been away from us — a full 10 days — and he had such a great time! He got his treats when needed, was fed on the schedule we requested, and was clearly well cared for. We highly recommend Stella to anyone looking for someone who will treat their dog like family. ❤️

Svitlana and Vasyl are a great couple and did a great job of taking care of my spoiled Halo. The pictures they sent and the several long walks logged by her collar assured me she was loved and well taken care of. Along with her giant smile when I picked her up. I know Halo will miss you and we hope to have Halo visit again in the future!

I cannot recommend Annie enough! This was my first time leaving my dog Zeus with her, and I was completely at ease the entire time. She and her husband are incredibly kind people who clearly have a passion for dogs. I received frequent messages and photo updates, which I appreciated so much. Best of all, my dog got along with theirs—it was like a little vacation for him, too! I will absolutely be booking with her again in the future. If you’re looking for a sitter who treats your dog like their own, look no further. Annie is fantastic.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
