“Mona was fantastic! She stayed in touch with me while was gone and provided me with updates, videos and photos of my kids. As a very nervous dog dad Mona made me feel very comfortable while I was gone. I would hire her back anytime and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a reliable and dependable dog/house sitter.”

“Allen is great. He kept us updated daily on Molly and played lots of games with her all day, she loves the pool and he encouraged swimming. Booked again for the next holiday already”

“We could not have found a better house and pet sitter. Rhondee is the best. Our pups instantly fell in love with her and we enjoyed our time away even more knowing Rhondee was providing the best care possible for our pups and our home. ❤️??”

“My large rambunctious dog loves Joy. Joy walked and snuggled both my boys. Received daily walk emails, updates and pictures on a small medical issue that Joy monitored for us and lots of pictures.”

“Susan did an amazing job on a short stay with Hank and Milo. She is very detail oriented and followed all instruction to a tee. She is very communicative and sent a lot of photos. I came home to very happy pups. I would definitely hire Susan again in the future!”

“Anthony was very flexible with our schedule. He sent us updates and pictures throughout the weekend. I am very happy with the care he provided for my pets. We will definitely contact him again. 😊”

“Katie was amazing. We had an erratic schedule where we needed her help on and off. That meant many start times and stop times through a short three day stay in Desert Hot Springs. Katie was always on time, totally prepared, and was able to handle our timid, fearful little dog masterfully. Clearly she has experience with animals. The bonus is her great personality and the fact she’s 100% reliable. Would (& likely WILL) hire her again any time we come this way. This was our first time using Rover and if the rest of the dog- sitters are as adept as Katie, we feel like we hit a gold-mine with this app.”

“Don was great with both my dog, Neko, and my Cat, Teri. He sent videos regularly and keep me informed about Neko and especially how Teri were doing. Also, Don went out of his way to care for Teri, my cat. Teri has kidney disease and requires hydration with a saline solution every day. Don was wonderful with Teri by injecting the solution under his skin. This was accomplished by placing a needle under Teri's loose skin and slowly allowing the saline solution to flow under his skin. Don is very personable and I recommend him very highly for caring for your pet.”
“Cheryl was amazing with my dog Skye! She went above and beyond to make sure she was happy, comfortable and exercised, and even came and stayed in our house to make it easier for Skye. I highly recommend Cheryl, and we will definitely be using her again!”

“Nate watched my 2 dogs in my apartment for me. He swung by beforehand to do a meet and greet. I liked him a lot and it seems like he took good care of my girls. I received photos and updates during his stay. I felt comfortable having Nate watch them and will definitely use their services again! Thank you.”
“Lydia was amazing! She spent the weekend in our home with our 13 year old Morkie. She took excellent care of him and our home. She administered his medication and he was in great spirits when we got home. I would recommend Lydia and will definitely reach out to her again in the future when we go away. Thank you!”

About: I’ve had both dogs and cats since I was 5 years old, giving me more than 40 years of hands-on experience caring for pets. “Crystal did a 4 night cat and-house sitting job for us She did a wonderful job looking after our cat Winston and sent photos everyday. It was nice to have the peace of mind that our home and fur baby were well cared for while we were out of town. We will be booking Crystal again. Thank you for a positive first experience using the Rover app”

“Jessica was amazing. From the meet and greet on, our 80# male pitbull LOVED her! Most people shy away from Reggie, for good reason, he is not nice with new people. Jessica within a few minutes had Reggie's attention and he loved her. We got updates everyday with pictures, which put our minds at ease. We came home to a very happy and healthy boy. The house was immaculate, very hard to tell someone was living there 24/7 with our pup!! I HIGHLY recommend Jessica for house sitting/pet sitting. She will be hearing from us very soon!!”

“Johnathan saved our vacation! He’s very prompt and great with our pups. We have an older blind dog and a very energetic puppy who took to him right away. Johnathan sends updates and keeps us informed while we are away. Johnathan is a great communicator as well! Very easy going and friendly.”

“Bonnie stayed at our home and cared for our senior dog for about 2 weeks while we were away. Bonnie did great following all instructions for our dogs’ care needs, and we felt comfortable with her staying in our home! She worked with our dog when she was being picky, and we would feel comfortable working with her again!!”

Alexis was great! She was very careful with our diabetic cat (who requires 2 shots a day / 12 hours apart) and always let us know after each injection that the shot had gone well. She also stayed in touch and sent photos of our boys. We’d definitely book her again!

It is so hard to leave your bff behind! Susan is reliable, caring and my dog adored her from the first moment they met. She sent updates throughout our time away and the best photos! I know how hard it to find a sitter, trusting that they take care as you would…. so grateful we found Susan!

John watched and took care of our two Boys while we got away on vacation. He is such a caring individual it gave use great peace of mind knowing that he was there taking care of them in our absence. He communicated with us every day and sent pictures of the activities that he was doing with the dogs. We feel so fortunate to have found John and made a connection with him. Our Boys, Riley and Koda really liked John as well, he has a wonderful rapport with them. We will definitely call on John again when we go on our next trip.

Aimee was absolutely amazing! She is incredibly kind, patient, and was so sweet with Chloe. She sent thoughtful updates, kept Chloe on her routine, and gave her plenty of love and attention. We never had to worry for a second while we were away. We’re so grateful we found her. Couldn’t ask for better care — highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Indian Wells walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Indian Wells maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Indian Wells choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Indian Wells. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
